I work for a financial institution, earn 470k statutorily every month and get 850k, 1m, 900k as allowances in January, April and August respectively.

I think the initial issues arose cos i used my salary accounts for other personal transactions and i also moved alot of my funda to term deposit with minimal funds left which was construed as not being liquid.....just my tots??

What do you for a job and what is your monthly income?

Attention Justwise and oda Gurus in the house:

Compliment of the season to Justwise and other gurus in the house. I was in Uk last year for 10days and i want to apply for 2 years visa later this month with 1m in my savings account.I already have a return ticket for the trip. What actualy happened was that i missed my initial flight in lagos last year and had to buy another ticket from another airline to make the trip but eventualy got the ticket re-issued to me when i got to UK(something Nigerian office refused to do).My question is,should athach the ticket to my new application or i should just apply as if i will buy flight ticket out of the 1m for the trip?

Along with all other documents, You will also need to write a letter of sponsorship to her indicating you'll be covering all the costs of the trip, your statement of account, proof of earnings (payslip etc), marriage cert, birth certificate of your kid ......

I got same email some years ago when I applied for my kids. But surprisingly 2 days after I got another email from TLS saying Passport ready for pick.My kids (3) were granted the visa ( 2 years). So please stay positive there will be no problem.

Hey Guys so I applied for a Short stay UK visa on the 3rd of December 2018, got an email on the 14th working day saying my application isn't straightforward. I was shocked because I literally just moved from the UK to Canada in September after spending almost 8 years in the UK studying and all. Why will they think I am not straightforward,do they think I want to come and stay there with my visitors visa or what? Has anyone received such email too please I am really shocked.

Good morning house
Please I'm disturbed about my application.
I intend applying soon for a medical exam but being single, no travel history, no landed property plus the fact I'm the one sponsoring myself is getting me really scared.

I've attached birth certificates of my kid brothers, letter from my mother stating she's aware of my trip. I'll also attached bank statement, employment letter, etc. I have enough money to cover my trip but I know that's not the only thing they take into consideration.

I'm just worried about this ties back home. Please house what else can I add? Thanks

OK my oga.... it's like a firm that helps in saving your salary... and they also pay you interest on your savings with them... and you can collect all your money at any time.... so my question is that will my pay slip make the ECO understand I'm truly been paid? Or i should just collect all my money to my savings account? But my fear is that they might be thinking about the huge some of money deposited.... please help me @justwise

Hello House. Thanks for the good work here. Please I need your help.

I submitted an EEA Visa application and did biometrics on 24th October, 2018 but till now, I am yet to get any information from them. I initially made an application in September which was refused based on the fact that I didn't not attach my photos with my husband (EU citizen). My husband was quite angry about this and was of the opinion that ECO should have requested for more info since our contact details littered the application form. He then appealed the decision and attached payment details by post. UK visa got post some days after.(post tracker, UK didn't acknowledge it)

When we found out this takes about 60 days (least), we filed another application. I called the UK line a month after and was told a decision has been made on my application and my query escalated, still no email. I sent several emails in December and got a notification from Tribunal saying my appeal has been struck out since no payment was made.

My problem now is I have an International exam to write that requires my passport next 2 weeks. I have called the paid UK line this January and got the same "we escalate" and the lady said she couldn't see if a decision has been made (system glitch). Please advise me on what to do, @justwise, can I visit British High Commission physically?

I doubt that will be possible without an invitation.

If your application is not a priority one then you will not hear from them till last week of this month.

Yes appeal takes quite a while and if it finally gets to tribunal then expect longer than 6months.

My POE at Heathrow was very exhaustive and drilling but thanks to this blog I was very ready.
My first mistake was saying I was staying 2 weeks in my landing card but yet booked hotel for 7days as that was my initial plan. He was looking for a loophole and wen he saw one. He held to it. At one point asked for medical insurance.

These guys are strict and will also want to provoke you. And will ask you same questions repeatedly. Even at one time told me he was sending us back to Nigeria.

I told him I will seek legal redress cos I didn’t breach any rules. He took us to the open place and then after 5 minutes came and let us go.

But in all. We had fun and are heading back to Nigeria(home) today .

Thank you to justwise, ogehumphries and all.

@justwise and all the gurus in the house, I need your advise.

My wife and I applied for UK visitors VISA last December, to travel on 26th December 2018. The purpose of the trip was to visit a friend, spend the new year with his family and return on January 7th 2019. However, our VISA wasn't ready until the new year (2nd Jan 2019). We also stated that we will travel with our children who are Americans (but didn't apply for a VISA for them).

I have registered for a professional exams in March and should travel to UK end of February. Is there any need to send a mail to the UK embassy explaining my new purpose of visit and the duration.

If I decide to travel without mailing the consulate, will there be any consequences if I eventually appear alone in London (without my wife and children).

Thank you in anticipation of your response.

Happy weekend gurus in the house.
My net salary is 255k. Two months is 510k. In a bid not to exceed two months of my disposable income, can I budget 500k for a 10-day trip? I plan applying for a visit visa soon. Thank you in advance. God bless.

I asked because various contributors have adviced applicants not to spend above 2 months of their monthly net income. Two months of my net income is 510k.

I was in a similar state as you this time last year. But in addition to what U attached, I added a family picture and letter from both parents. And my passport was deflowered. Just collected my Tier-2 (Work) visa yesterday.
Anyway, every application is unique in its circumstances

Heathrow has always been know to be stern-looking and extremely strict. Especially to Nigerians. U need to witness the scrutinh firsthand
Manchester didn't pose any hassle to me when I went in March. And doesn't give issues as regards point of entry. Just for the records

Birth certificates of your brother is unnecessary unless they are your dependents. Your job is a good tie so supply your appointment letter, letter of introduction from your work place, payslips of last six months, if you can letter of Leave of absence from Work for the period, great. Then family pictures especially of your parents plus the letter your mom wrote. Then supply your invitation letter for the exam, all documents relating to the exam, all documents about your profession eg Licence or full registration, MBBS certificate for doctors. Then a clean account with adequate funds showing your salary. If you have landed property with good documents supply. With good job, clean account, adequate funds and documents for the exam and your profession they will give you the visa.

It will not be a problem as your visa is valid at time of the exam. However in your next UK visa application you must explain why you didn't travel anymore with the kids, and how you booked for the exam since visa was valid and how you supported yourself if you stayed longer than you had proposed.

I would advise you Cut the budget lower, book cheaper hotels on booking dot com, lower flight ticket budget. A little over 400k should do.
