JavaScript language is progressing faster than PHP even though most highly operational web applications are still powered with PHP.

First let us clear the ground.

Node.js is not a framework and there is no reason to argue about it as Google is there to help you out.

Node.js is a very powerful JavaScript-based platform built on Google Chrome's JavaScript V8 Engine. It is used to develop I/O intensive web applications like video streaming sites, single-page applications, and other web applications. Node.js is open source, completely free, and used by thousands of developers around the world.

With the above cleared, call it a framework I no get issue with that just know that its the break through that allow JavaScript to handle backend responsibilities.

I use php than any other language that I know but I will advice you go for JavaScript .

Guys have said it all, JavaScript can handle web development and mobile app. JS will handle good graphic games even AI, so think of anything.

JS also is better if you will be doing lots of web work...if you master it well, you've got something for now and the next 30yrs to be proud off.

Php is good and not going anywhere and is getting better day by day...so make sure after mastering your JS you give php a visit expecially if you want to make money with programming in freelancing or in Nigeria.

Php can be used for AI, win app, mobile app, just anything but people don't know...though it seems to be best for web. Mark of facebook use few php in AI app running his house. Contact me on ensodevonline@gmail.com if you need more info on how.

Python is also worth knowing , so if I were you I won't throw it away...I won't stop and I will actually do something notable with the few I know. Python is the most fun language for now...if you are curious , and want to feel what people who understand low level languages like c/c++ are experiencing then python will get you close in AI, cyber security, ML, IOT, data science...I don't care what people think about that language but it the easiest language that can make you a millionaire in few years if you give it what it takes.

JS and PHP are the most important for anyone these days for web things.
