please gurus in the house..I want to request for economics after I used liberal art for my previous interview. hope it won't affect my next interview... please kindly help me out, does it mean that vo don't approve visa for liberal art

Nawao
Did you have a career plan when you chose liberal arts? If yes, why change everything suddenly?
Your major is never a reason for visa denial. Prepare well, tell the VO about your career plan and get your visa approved!

@ubah1 sorry dont know why i cant quote you
Anyways, need to know because some people literally have 0 cash for school and would have to depend on GA through school.

While others have some money and can make do with partial funding. There are different types of funding (scholarships, grants etc) Why i asked this is because this would be a key driver in her search for schools because some schools don't offer full funding while others do.

Although i was denied B1/B2 visa in 2013 and student visa 2014 but i think 2014 denial is due to d fa t that i applied for Undergraduate degree after graduated 2011.

I told the VO up front. I did not expect to have it easy and it wasn't. I was asked 13 questions and as God would have it, I did not stutter at all.

bracelum:

Perfect!
Did you tell the VO upfront about your stuttering? or did you use plan B?

[quote author=fairheart post=74517810]It is self-explanatory. When you are offered the scholarship for the program you intend to apply for, you'll be paid monthly stipends or weekly paycheck (wage), and your tuition fee (school fees) will be slashed significantly, to zero level, depending on how much you're offered and how many credit hour you're taking per semester. Basically, this is a jackpot--if you are eligible and meet the scholarship requirements.

Goodluck.

Thank you
Re: General U.s.a (student) Visa Enquiries-part 14 by Gospelozy(f): 6:23pm On Jan 14, 2019
Pefuele:

The benefits of a GA is listed if you got one:
wages as stipend either monthly or hourly means you get paid every month or per hour
Like $8 per hour or it's equivalent in a month.

A tuition waiver of 100% during semester of appointment means you pay no tuition fee for the semester you work as a GA.

A waiver of up to 12 credit hours of tuition for the summer term immediately following a spring or fall appointment means you if you are doing a total of 36credit hours course you only pay for 24credit hours for summer semesters that that follows immediately a spring or fall semester that you work as a GA.

Am grateful

Your stress level reduced as you told the VO

1. I never called you desperate. Being desperate IN THE EYES OF THE VO is different from being desperate in reality. If you read my comment clearly (which I doubt you did), you will discover that I felt the VO misjudged you by thinking you were desperate. So I don't understand all the fuss you've created claiming I called you a desperate being. I never did! I only insinuated that the VO might have misjudged you for being desperate looking at your visa application history and the fact you were attending your program fully sponsored by an "uncle".

If you are a keen follower of this thread, you will notice that these two points are quite risky with the US visa process.

2. I never questioned your sponsor's ability to pay your fee. I don't know you and I don't know your sponsor either. So how can I determine if your sponsor can afford your fees when I don't know either of you? My comments are based on your transcript which you wrote. When the VO asked that question about your sponsor's ability to pay, it shows he/she was not convinced about it. The VO might have misjudged you again but unfortunately in this visa process, what the VO thinks is what matters whether he/she is right or wrong..

So, it's better you understand comments by people before making false accusations on them. I hate being accused falsely and you just did that simply because you failed to read and understand my comments properly. Also, when you post a problem like this on a public forum, it's better you listen to advice from people especially those that have been in this process. If you know better, why post the problem in the first place?

Also, there is an adage that says "advice no be curse". So even when someone gives you a stupid advice (of course, mine isn't stupid), it's best you acknowledge it codedly and discard it. You don't openly attack someone that spent some precious minutes of his time offering help to you. That person wouldn't have bothered if you didn't ask in the first place. Use your upper!

At the end of the day, what the VO thinks is what matters whether it is wrong or right. Your job is to do everything in the way the VO believes is correct. Many people who were denied visas for lack of GRE were genuine students but the VO thought otherwise and that was what mattered. Many people who were denied visas to CALMUS were genuine students but the VO thought otherwise. So if you applied to Canada and the US for genuine reasons (which I think you did), but the VO thought otherwise, your opinion/intention doesn't matter! The earlier you accept this fact and dance to the tune of the VO, the easier it will be for you to accept comments here.

I didn't say you called me Desperate. I said using the word desperate is not nice and kind of negative. Several people have applied up to 3 to 4 times before they got their visa. It will be wrong to tag them desperate, rather one will say they were persistent, and persistency is a good thing.

I'm only trying to change that mind set of always using the word desperate. Anybody applying for a visa knows what he wants to achieve there, and sometimes you have to be persistent in order to get what you want.

That's all, and I have heard you, so I will say thank you once more.

i disagree that USA wont approve his visa.... there was a guy here fall 2018 who got his visa even after informing the Vo during his interview why he was ban from Canada. i think the ban was related to bank statement stuff( not too sure)...... he just have to come out clean and give it another try, hopefully he gets a good school with Funding this time around....

If I get another admission in another school, what happens to sevis fee that I have paid already? Do I pay another one again? How do I get my sevis updated?

see, you worked hard for you first class, you also need to work hard to source information now. If you're planning to integrate into the American Labour Force after studies you can't go to just any school. On the GRE thread, I read of a UNN guy that was only applying to the top 10 schools, he got funded at MIT i think on the second try. You have an awesome profile don't waste it cheesy That's why I asked you to contact CuteRedd, she's looking for get into a nice school too and i'm sure she already has ideas. But you can also check top schools for MS in CS and check the type of assistantship/funding they have(because some top schools don't fund people). Then you check safe schools too. It's that easy.

It is not wise to pay tuition fee before going for interview because it a probabilistic event...
However, your profile says you have family and work ties in terms of married with kids and and a business owner .That's good....
You may take your business documents for the interview and you should present it at the request of the CO.Since your last denial was based on applying for UG despite being a graduate you should prepare for a question in this regard since the CO will have access to your history...Ok,like why do you think you were denied in your last application?
What has changed in your last application?Ok,may be in this case you can mention your business or if your married or the likes ...
Though a B1/B2 is independent of F1 ensure key information tallies in both cases...

Don't reapply so soon if nothing has really changed in your application.

The thing is I don't really know what really wants to change again because I changed everything
I changed school
I got tuition scholarship
I changed sponsor from mom to uncle and used his official email address
I filled by ds160 more explicitly
I started a better job
I handled the interview better than the first time in July.
So I am not really sure anything can change again except one of the schools I applied to for PhD give me tuition waiver plus stipend
