My Niece had a j1 visa extension interview on 7/01/19 which was approved and told passport would be ready in 2-3 buisness days;
Unfortunately, the passport is yet to be ready and the website is still indicating “Administrative Processing” til today. Last updated since the day of interview.
No further documents were requested.
I have sent emails to us-traveldocs and lagosNiv without success.
Why is it taking this long?
Has anyone gone through this. Where else can I contact?

Like I said earlier I feel there is a new policy with visa issuance at the USA embassy’s. Denial rate has sky rocketed. I have friends who have been going for years without any default. They have all been refused for no reason. Please a man who works in Shell can never have any intent to migrate without proper job at the USA. I agreed that Canada had to speak to the USA to revisit their visa issuance as people have been crossing into Canada from the USA and seeking asylum. In my opinion I think we should leave USA for now. They would calm down later.

Like every other developed nations, getting the United States visa approved has not been easy. Tightened measures or not, people still get approved on daily basis. You never know until you tried. And I'm sure with proper documents and genuine intention, one would still be approved. If not immediately but eventually. Please don't discourage anyone whatsoever! Thank you.

You have to take 12 credit courses per semester and thats not possible in summer, only in spring and fall , summer is just like a month and it's not possible to do all that within a month

Please clarify why my profile looks desperate. I had a b1 b2 which just expired. I re apllied for the f1 cos school was resuming 1st week jan. Also am not interested in schooling in the usa again. Truth is i am already trying other options for my masters.

If the us visa denial wld not affect my getting a canada visiting visa. Honestly i dont need it.

I have 2 yrs uk visa currently and travel history to the usa. If this wont affect my visiting visa to canada i wont even bother with then for now.
Also i would soon be resuming at new school am doing my masters since i couldnt get their visa
for now stay off and don't apply immediately even if you have visa to 20 countries. It would have been better if you renewed your b1b2 before student visa as it will have been issued to you there after you can apply and be issued student visa. Visit other countries but you can reapply later.
Re: General U.s.a (student) Visa Enquiries-part 14 by Ajibade105(m): 3:08pm On Jan 17, 2019
it better you advise prospective applicants not to lie at all. Being truthful in one part of the application and lying is another is not the best approach. In summary, don't lie at all

domex007:

Am sorry for the denial bro.

when i was applying for canadian visa in 2016, i remember there was a part (except it has been changed now) where they ask and specify if you have been denied a USA VISA so there is no point trying to justify misrepresentation for the ban.

My advice to you is to give US one last trial. My opinion though

my first 3 US application were filled with lies in the interview and they were all denied. My Canadian visa application was filled with the a little lie and was also denied.
MY FOURTH US APPLICATION was the absolute truth (I have never been that honest in my life grin) but to my greatest surprise it was approved.
MY ADVISE TO ALL IN THE HOUSE: NEVER LIE TO ANY EMBASSY IN YOUR ONLINE APPLICATION. YOU CAN LIE IN THE INTERVIEW OR THE Statement of purpose BUT DONT EVER LIE IN YOUR ONLINE APPLICATION. (THAT LIE STAYS FOR A VERY LONG TIME)

One love from this guy grin

this is a DIFFICULT TRUTH But my brother life in Nigeria is very difficult for many youths and blame our leaders for that!
Please dont get me wrong but life in the US is not easy too but i can say for a fact that it is far better than Nigeria.

I also dont blame the VOs at the embassy; the see thousands of Nigerians applying for non immigrant visa every single day including Saturdays and they have record of Nigerians (i even know a guy that came for visiting (2 weeks) grin cheesy and its 1 year now, he has no plans of going back to Nigeria)
Even me that is typing has no plans of coming back to nigeria anytime soon (forget what i told the embassy) grin cheesy grin wink

I will continue to encourage Nigerian youths to keep seeking greener pastures abroad while we try to make our country better by voting the right leaders!.

PLEASE DONT PUT ALL YOUR EGGS IN ONE BASKET. It took me 5 years before i was granted visa to come to US but i was not idle for 5 years wink. I did my ND in yaba tech and also started a business which my family manage while i chase my American Dream.

GOODLUCK GUYS!

So even after you fourth attempt for the US visa after three denials you still lied to the VO.

I lied when the vo asked what i will do with my course?
i said what i had to say "it will give me the broad knowledge i need in my business when i come back to Nigeria."

the VOs at the embassy already know we wont come back but they just want to be sure you know what you are talking about.

but i didn't lie in my ds 160. there is a difference!
The DS160 application stays in the Embassy database for a very long time and is always available to any VO any time your fingerprint pops up but I dont think they record what you say at the Interview!

Yeah right!

Continue with the excuses to justify what you did and knew was wrong.

And then we all wonder why the US refusal rates with Nigerians is at a very high rate.

I'm guessing you're coming back to work in Nigeria after your MSc/PhD in the US. Is it wrong for someone to stay back?
