Greetings to anyone reading this, please pardon my grammatical errors as I bare my heart in this write up. We live in a down floor flat in a three storeyed building and as you know how most compounds in Surulere is without space, ours is surrounded by other tall buildings so to get fresh air especially at night is zero possible.
The state Government has not been forthcoming with pipe borne water these days despite knowing how important water is to human life, the power supply company are making it harder too, you go to bed at night, you won't sleep well due excess heat, you won't see water to at least bath throughout the night to keep cool till morning.
This has been going on in our area in Surulere around Itire/Ishaga. Last night, I thought I was going to die oh God!! We have generator set but the engine is very faulty and very expensive to repair besides, we can't be spending money on fuel on daily basis coupled with the fact that there are other expenses at home to run.
Last night, I was awake till 3am dot, I kept fanning myself and sweating profusely, at a point, I felt I was loosing my breath, I stood up, laid down, sat down, I did everything I could to feel OK but to no avail, my hand was aching me too.
I slept off for about 12minutes only to suddenly jerk up from bed and feel sweat running down my face and body like a cup of water was poured on me hmm.. The mattress was soaked at different sections and I couldn't lie down on it again. The one that scared me most was that I observed that fluid came up into my mouth from my stomach and I rushed to go and spill it out, dehydration too, I kept drinking water and trying to stay alive.
By exactly 3am dot, they brought the light, I wasn't feeling happy because there was no morale for excitement anymore but I finally managed to sleep off, i woke up again as they took it by past 4 again till now. I sleep by 3 or 4 almost every night and I am feeling frustrated. I felt I should share it, I am tired, God please help me, I am always scared once the night approaches on daily basis.. The Government should help the masses with light and water for healthy living.

You need to get a rechargeable fan. It will help a lot.

Still flexing harmattan over here in Abuja... It gets a bit hot at night fooling you into sleeping without a shirt but by midnight the cold wind steps and you start looking for blanket in the midnight. I know it won't last but I will enjoy it while I can! grin grin

Eeyah... as for me, I sleep in a duplex on the banks of the River Niger in Asaba, and the weather is always nice and cool at night. The view is serene and quiet and I enjoy watching the River flow.

Leave Lagos and try to enjoy quality of life in other parts of Nigeria.

I pray thee, Can you step outta the balcony and snap your environment, including the river bank?

Just for my viewing pleasure, I love to see beach houses.

I left Abuja to lagos on Saturday , i can actually feel op on the part of heat which of coz i think its because of too much emmition from vehicle and factories in lagos, the case was not actually like that in Abuja compare to The weather here in my home state Osun where i am presently ,God is great, now as we speak in Osun ,even if there is no light ,you dare not open your window that much, so so cold here .

More reasons why i dont too like lagos , respect to all lagosians anyway!

That's what climate change looks like...
If climate change were real, how come Europe and America is cold while Africa is hot. We are at the back of the AC where it is always hot . Read about weather control technology. Don't google it cos google has started blocking the truth , use duckduckgo search engine instead

A good rechargeable lantern costs about 30k, lasts less than a year before the battery dies, while an inverter and battery will last at least four years before it starts degrading & requires replacement( 50k), the battery only, the inverter lasts well, till you feel like buying new one grin

Lol, i get that inverter last longer but still not affordable in this economy for an average Nigerian. But about the fan you are wrong, for as low as 15k i can get you good rechargeable Fan that you will enjoy for nothing less than 2yrs,and when the battery becomes weak, replacement is just 4k for new one tongue

i am sure you pay very high rent to stay in that house ,personal i dont like staying in the middle of the city in lagos cause it is so congested driving through alone you notice this and the living conditions is so terrible in areas like surulere, mushin, bariga, shomolu, anthony, ebute metta .I would advice you to consider the outer part of town places like ikorodu and other areas cause one the rent is cheaper and the living conditions is better in this place most houses have their own borehole health is wealth .Thy are not congested ,i cant imagine staying without water so when you toilet how do you flush and do all that and most times bringing up children in these congested areas is very difficult they tend to mix with the good the bad and the ugly

Jos is a bit cold now not hot as you said because I am there as I type. To be sincere with you bro, this is the period I like jos because its not hot neither cold, just moderate but in the midnight towards morning, it used to be very cold to the extent you find it difficult to even take your bath.

Yes, it's sunny during the day (30 degrees today) but cool indoors and under shade. Got a cardigan and blanket on now. It's nowhere near the heat I'm reading about. You are correct.
