If you dont have something meaningful to say, its better u keep mute than to be misleading peeps here.. We have seen peeps here writing a 7 page SOP who got their Visas.. It isnt written on the canadian website that SOP should be so number of pages, please be guided. @johnsonsegxy Ur 3 page SOP isnt much at all.. So far you can convince the VO in ur SOP that you are a genuine student that will come back to ur home country then u are good to go.. Peace
vibrant99:
why would you write 3 pages of SOP? wetin happen? are you describing ur Nigeria too?

Oga, one page and half at most.

Okay thanks a lot

Hi, you can check the University of Regina and the University of Saskstchewan. They are both in Saskatchewan and accept payments per semester.

If the fund is transfered to someone's account, how long will it have to stay before the statement is printed. Thanks.
mcobex:

1. First, why are you going for another bachelor's degree when you can easily get MSc with your first degree? That will be the question from the VO. That said, it will be hard to convince the VO but not impossible. So make sure you have a very good story to tell as to why you intend to "switch" course or why you are not going for an upgrade to your first degree.
2. Your sponsor not having same surname with you won't be a problem as long as he can show commitment (by either paying your tuition fee or transfer the said fund into your personal account). I always advise people using third party sponsor (someone that is not parent or siblings) to make sure the sponsor pay their tuition fee or transfer the money into their personal account just to assure the VO that fund will be readily available when it's time.
3. Online and paper route won't decide if your app will be approved or not. They both have their advantages and disadvantages. If you have lots of document to submit, paper route is better as their is not restriction on the size of what to submit (online allows only 4MB of file size per category). Paper route is much more cheaper compare to online (online fee varies depending on the value of the $) while paper route is fixed(I think it is almost 20k difference).
With paper route you get to do your biometric same day you apply while with online route you will have to wait for CIC to send you invitation to go for it(this might take between days to some weeks).
One advantage of online route is that you don't get to stress yourself going up and down as long as you have a scanner (to scan all your document) , so you can do almost everything just sitting in the comfort of your house/office

Please, I would like to ask...
What advice would you give to someone who wants to sponsor themselves? With a bank balance of 15k cad. Would this be an advantage or must you have a sponsor different from oneself?

Thanks

Hello, my sponsor is in the US and he is doubting if the soft copy of his bank statement is enough to apply for the visa?

2) If not, what is the most easiest way to send me his bank statement?

3) What other document is needed from bank or him?
I just want to make sure I don't stress him.

Thanks.

Hello House, I have been following this thread for about two months. I just got my letter of admission from University of Regina, Health studies this month. It is an undergraduate degree. I am about to file my application for a student permit and I want to ask few questions.

1) I already have a degree in Medical Physiology, how does this play out when applying for a permit for second undergraduate in Health studies considering they have very similar syllabus?

2) My sponsor is an uncle (We don’t share same surname)of mine and has about 12-15m in his closing account, also I am adding the my dad’s numerous landed property documents and three cars to my application, also the CAC document of the school he owns, all these represents home ties, what’s my best bet on this?

3) And lastly, should I use online or paper route for my application?

A quick one.

Convincing the VO why you are going for another UG via your LOE might be very difficult (not impossible).

To make lif easy, why don’t you apply for masters or PG admission in another school (still keep your UG admission), get your visa and when you get to Canada, you change to the previous school for your UG.

No specific timeframe, but you and your sponsor should mention the transaction in your SOP and letter of support respectively and it's purpose

Self sponsorship is a good thing as long as the fund(15k cad) will be enough to take care of your studies (tuition , living expenses....)

You'll need to start reading from the first page of this thread 15, when you're done reading and properly understanding what was discussed and you still have questions, come and ask.

No. But the person did say (s)he already has a degree in medical physiology, that was why he gave that reply/advice.

@thaiwo
I'll suggest you first ask yourself this question, when you've gotten an answer that you're comfortable with, then draft a rough but detailed Statement of Purpose from your answer and ask someone to proof read it for you.

I don't know much about this but i'll add somethings:
- did you explain the lack of a transcript in your Statement of Purpose (SOP)?
- did you explain the reason for going for an apprenticeship program even after you have a diploma certificate (i'm guessing this is what the transcript is for) in your SOP?
If you did explain, then I think you're okay - i'm saying what is in bold lettering, out of a very limited experience. So please wait for someone who has a better understanding of these things.

I don't know how the ND certificate is verified or if the lack of a transcript will affect your chances of an approval.

Hello Good-people of this great thread. For awhile I have been pondering on some vital issues, and I will need your sagely inputs. I plan using my 2nd cousin who is based in Canada as my sponsor, and I have been observing from posted timelines that most persons get refused student visa because of have such ties abroad. How do I go about this?
Thanks

Hello everyone. Please I need your input on this...the school I want to apply to requires me to upload a softcopy of my transcript first but I don't have it. My school can only send directly to them but not softcopy. The school says they need my unofficial transcript, will request the official one when it's time. Also, they need the GPA of the last two years of my UG study which I cannot submit without seeing the transcript.
How do I go about getting the transcript from my school (UNN)? I mean how I can get it handy. Please I need your assistance.

Oga, one page and half at most.

Oga situation varies, don't condescend anybody with your 1 & half page of SOP. What's the essence of a 1 & half page of SOP when your case is not properly outlined, or those that got approvals with 5-7 pages of SOP are daft to not want a page SOP?!

What matters most is for the main points that reflects the application concerns to be concise & detailed.

Book a One-way ticket. Those who book 'return tickets' are those who intend on returning at a later date.
