Good afternoon. I have been going through the thread and the comments has been helpful. I was denied my visa twice this year I went for my first interview on the 9th and was denied after being asked why I choose one school then I reapplied and was denied and the question was what I have been doing since high school I was asked to differ my admission to fall by the school. Pls do you think I should apply again is there any possible chance I would get it because I answered all the interview questions right but still don't know the answer they really need

You can try again. Did you post your interview transcript here after the refusals? You may want to do that now so guys on the thread can see if it needs improvement.

4 year lap. Hmmm, only God knows what was on the VO's mind when he/she looked at your application during the interview. The lapse is really long, and I can tell you that's one of the keys to your refusals.

Depends on your start date

You can only apply for a visa not more than 120days to your course of study start date.

@fairheart @Justwise and the other experienced individuals, please do you think i should try again this fall,

do u think i hav a chance if am well prepared with good answers or should i just forget them .PS i am going with my daughter

i would post the little details of my interview that i can remember after passing 120 and passport
1st interview Dec 17, 2nd interview was jan 2

VO: WHY MSC IN PUBLIC ADMIN

ME: I beleive due to my 10 years work experience, i am due to hve a masters. i chose masters in public admin, due to my experience at my place of work, i have been a volunteer member of ........ where we help children living with ... and source for funds ....... at my place of work i have been moved to ..... desk where we help women ......... also i intend to own y own NGO in the future. with the masters in PUB Admin, i beleive it would give a boost to my career advancement and opportunity. i have been made the head of ... desk and after taking a study leave for this course it would help me gather the knowledge required to perform on the role.

VO: who is funding for this trip

ME: it is co sponsored by my husband and i

VO: Can i have your bank statement (i passed it and explained its our joint account statement.. which was sufficiently funded as indicated in the i 20)

VO: I just saw an inflow, why such all of a sudden.

ME: This was as a liquidation of our fixed deposit investment. (passed him a copy of the fixed deposit certificate) this is a copy of the fixed deposit certificate which shows it was liquidated yesterday. Its no longer valid because the investment was just liquidated due to todays interview. If you look at the statement you would notice the funds have been in the account since october but we had to invest it to get interests.

VO: ok this is fine, i see you stayed in the usa for over 2 months, what was this about

ME: I HAD OBTAINED A MEDICAL VISA IN 2017, AS I went to have a baby, this was indicated at my interview that i would be in the usa for that length of time.

VO: Do you have your receipts

ME: YES (PASSED the zero balance statement)

VO: (studied it for a while) how much did you pay for this, was it normal delivery or CS

me: Normal delivery, total was about $5k , this was the contract signed in the hospital for self pay

VO: OK , but i want you to note that these hospitals do some things behind you, and give you an affordable bill, a standard bill for delivery in the usa should be about $20k.

ME: i didnt know this, i met with the hospital and this was the bill given to me on a contract for self pay

VO: i know you dont know, but its ok. excuse me for a minute (he goes to meet one witch with the statement that had denied every single soul, probably his supervisor)

VO: sorrry about that i had to make a little clarification. (looks at the 1-20) Your i20 states that English proficiency is required, where is your English proficiency test.

ME: The school waived English test on my behalf as my B.SC was done in English, also i had done an IELTS test before the school waived it.

VO: (Getting Angry) WHERE IS IT

ME: unfortunately its nt here with me. I had obtained an admission from the school because i was qualified and submitted the necessary documents to the school. i wont have been offered the admission if i wasn't Proficient, can you please allow me to bring the documents later or send via email.

VO: Based on som conditions your VISA is not approved. You can come back for B1 B2 visa but you dont qualify for this visa.

ME: Please does this mean i cant school in the USA..

VO: It depends on who you meet but this is my decision.

I Didnt give up, i reapplied for Jan 2nd at Abuja

i would like to point out that every single soul was denied that day only 2 VOs were interviewing, the ambiance was sooooo tense

VO: I see you had come for an interview for weeeks ago, what has changed

ME: SCHOOLS Resumes Jan 7, however, at the last interview, i wasnt able to provide my English test because i didnt take itwith me to the interview, I also have a letter from the school to explain the waiver on English.

VO: OK, why this school Tarleton State University

me: It affordable, the school is in Texas which has a great wether. Also, after various research, i realised that the school is highly rate for the course , and one of the Top schools in the USA.. (she cuts me)

VO: What other schools did you apply to

ME: Florida Atlantic uni and university of Massasuchets, I didnt get Florida Atlantic Uni

VO: under the immigration laws in the USA you dont qualify for this VISA(same old story to every soul at the embassy)

GUYS please what do you think should i go to another country or reapply. i am already processing other options but i need your thoughts on this.

kindly advise what i should have done better. i work in a reputable organisation. at the first interview it looked like i was getting it after spending 30 mins. i feel like the guy got upset cos he had moved on on the affordable hospital bill, then i now didnt bring my test result or letter from the school.

i only need advise

Well, I just went through the transcript. Congrats on your baby delivery. Is your baby a boy or a girl?

I noticed you did not prepare for the f1 visa interview. When you were asked about English test, you did not really respond as a normal consular would expect. This is the first glitch, and you said you don't have the test score report. Consular probably thought you lied. Trust me!

Then the second interview, you did not give a valid reason as to why you choose the school. So, I think the second VO agree with the information the first VO left on your profile within the system. As I can see, you can get the F1 Visa. You need to prepare very well and put yourself together, except getting the visa doesn't matter to you anymore.

You need to write a tailored transcript for the next interview, and by God's grace, the outcome should be positive.

Good luck

My advice is this; If your spouse is with you in the US during your Ph.D., your spouse will not be allowed to work during the duration of your program but if it Canada, she will be giving work permit while you are schooling. Oya, pick the option that suite you grin grin grin

Step 1: Open your browser
Step 2: Type in www.Google.com
Step 3: Type in "good schools in the US that offer funding for MSC"
Step 4: Open a link, check the schools, talk with the program coordinator on funding information
Step 5: Repeat Step 4 for many other schools

It's not easy to wait for someone to come and start positing schools that offer funding. Some things are better left for you to research. Come on, you're going for grad admission.

Hi, everyone. I want to go for nursing in the US but I'm confused as to which route to take. I'm considering the Associate Degree route offered by community colleges or the Accelerated Bachelor's Degree route offered by Universities. Information online says the Associate Degree route is less expensive than the Accelerated Bachelor's Degree route. Also, I'm looking at the program that will afford me the ability to work while on campus (Accelerated Degree program often leaves little or no space for that). Please if there's any one in any of these programs, I'll kindly need more information from you.
Thanks.
please be sure why you want to go to a community college...when I went for my interview on 9th of January, there was a girl (like 16years old) that came with a community college and she's going for nursing.the vo asked her why she want a community college, she said the the school is among the top 20 community college in us and more affordable..the vo repeated the same question by asking her why she want a community college and later transfer to University but she couldn't say anything reasonable(am sure the vo wanted to give her visa if she could say something reasonable, because she was just talking to the girl as if she's her daughter and she tried to explain to her the difference between community college and University but the little girl was under tension and couldn't say why she want a community college apart from been among top 20 and cheap), she then ask her if she take any standard exam she said no , she denied her immediately. I don't know if it was you ..but my advice is to apply to a University nd transfer to community college upon your arrival.. because it's hard to convince vo that you're a genuine student that can Carter for your need with a community college..
