Saw something I thought would be nice to share with everyone. So I applied with my cousin since Sept last year for a student visa. Got mine in November and her own status didnt change until she received passport request some days ago. She did upfront medical and her profile was not updated till passport request. |

Congratulations to everyone - those who have received or those who haven't. It'll all end in praise. I always insist on FAITH. Faith in God is the most important thing in any application - and by extension anything you do in life. If you believe you'll have it (irrespective of what the devil tells you when he brings doubts to your mind) you will definitely have it. A scripture that strengthened me immensely during my application was Mark 11:22-26. I always prayed with verses 23 & 24, declared them out loud into my application and my life - especially when the devil came with thoughts of doubt and fear - as they are God's promises and will He'll always fulfil His promises towards His children. I hope this encourages and helps someone. |

It is very uncommon to be invited for interview. I have been on this forum close to a year now and you are the second person I have read that was invited for interview. Maybe the gurus in the house might have a suggestion or 2 However, please can u shed more light on how u were able to successfully appeal your refusal? this might help someone out there. I am sending PM to you. kindly check, Thanks. kayvine4u: |

If you are applying for the first time, then SOP is enough and you don't need an LOE. LOE is basically for tackling reasons for previous refusals. Say u have been refused once, then u can add an LOE in ur second application highlighting the reasons for ur previous refusals and also giving convincing reasons to tackle the refusal.. Hope this helps. Peace johnsonsegxy: |

kayvine4u:I am very interested in this topic. Did you formally appealed your refusal to the federal court of Canada or Immigration Adjudication Division (IAD)?. Did you hire an immigration attorney in Canada that assisted in filing a judicial review/appeal on your behalf?. From the wisdom of my experiences, appealing a Canadian study visa refusal is usually very expensive, cumbersome, time consuming and the uncertainty is extremely high as there are no guarantees that the applicant will win the case in a long-term. I can recall intelligently last year on this faithful platform, an applicant hired an experienced immigration attorney in Canada after a study visa refusal because that was the only highest advantage he had for a Canadian study visa refusal to be overturned. He paid a fee of about $CAD3500-$CAD4000 which is equivalent to 1.2M in Naira for a judicial review by the Federal Court of Canada. The whole process lasted for as long as over 7 months. During the course of the case at the federal court, the Chief Justice in Canada decided to hand over the applicant application to a different visa officer to review and give recommendations prior to extending his judgment. Luckily, after a successful review and interview conducted by the second visa officer at Anifowoshe in Victoria Island Lagos, his application merited a study permit and was approved. Majority of the applicants that have passed through this stringent process were successful. Since you've have been invited for an interview at the consulate in Anifowoshe. You have to be bold and effectively demonstrate why your application should not have been denied and why you deserve a second chance, why you choose to undertake your proposed program in Canada not Nigeria and why you must depart from Canada after your authorized stay. The interview may last for about 5-10mins. Consequentially, once you are able to answer the aforementioned questions accurately and convincingly in a persuasive manner you will receive a letter confirming that you won the appeal and your file transferred to the processing visa office for visa issuance/stamping. Please don't forget to keep the house updated, as your experience at the consulate would be very advantageous, educative and helpful to this platform. |
