You took the verse in isolation of the whole passage which rather says that the dead were called out from their graves (both on land and in the seas) to face judgement after which the ones found wanting were thrown into the lake of fire for second death.
Here it is:
13. Then the sea gave up its dead. Death and the world of the dead also gave up the dead they held. And all were judged according to what they had done.

14. Then death and the world of the dead were thrown into the lake of fire. (This lake of fire is the second death.)

15. Those who did not have their name written in the book of the living were thrown into the lake of fire.

Also read Mathew 13 where Jesus told the parable of wheat and tares and in verse 30 he said "Let the wheat and the weeds both grow together until harvest. Then I will tell the harvest workers to pull up the weeds first, tie them in bundles and burn them".

You might say that Jesus was not talking about fire in the literal sense here since he was using a parable. However, verse 36 of that same passage says:
 When Jesus had left the crowd and gone indoors, his disciples came to him and said, *Tell us what the parable about the weeds in the field means.

This was a demand for literal interpretation by the disciples.. and Jesus obliged them as seen in the next verses:

37. Jesus answered, *The man who sowed the good seed is the Son of Man;

38. the field is the world; the good seed is the people who belong to the Kingdom; the weeds are the people who belong to the Evil One;

39. and the enemy who sowed the weeds is the Devil. The harvest is the end of the age, and the harvest workers are angels.

40. Just as the weeds are gathered up and burned in the fire, so the same thing will happen at the end of the age

41. the Son of Man will send out his angels to gather up out of his Kingdom all those who cause people to sin and all others who do evil things,

42. and they will throw them into the fiery furnace, where they will cry and gnash their teeth

You can see that in verse 42 which is part of his literal interpretation, Jesus mentioned fire..i.e. the fire in the parable is also fire in the literal interpretation. Why didn't he say the fire meant mere grave or Hades if that is what it means in the literal sense? That tells you it is fire in the real sense and not grave as you would have us believe.

In Mathew chapter 13 Jesus told people the parable of the wheat and tares and in verse 36 His disciples asked Him for literal interpretation. He obliged them and interpreted it literally telling them in verse 42 that the fire in the parable is a lake of fire literally. Look it up.

Even Paul The Apostle and Barnabas Acts:15:36-40 disagreed with each other over an issue that had nothing to do with doctrine. I guess that disagreement disqualified both Paul and Silas from being men of God, right?
