Ur article is misleading! It is laughable to say lions are lazy. The lion does not usually go to hunt in order to avoid injuries as its prime duty is to protect the pride and secure their kills from other intruders. In cases where larger preys are on the menu, it is d lion that takes charge of the hunt and their brut force gives the pride success.
Everything in the lions pride is wisdom thats why they earned the name king of the jungle.
Laying all day for a lion is to conserve energy to hunt at coolers hours especially night where preys are more vulnerable, but in cases of scarcity they trail preys at any given time.
You just hàve to give the lions full credit "they know what they want and they get it"
The lions are lazy predators yet they takes down big games including elephants, cape buffalo, giraffes, rhinos and makes snacks from wildebeest.
I am so angry at the op right nw!

Point is that female Lions do the job and other big cats also hunt large predators.

All science topics are by opinions though so you're doing a great job by airing yours

[quote author=Elijahrona post=75434155]Owls represent wisdom

This has been known for ages. Even since the time of the Greeks, Athena the goddess of wisdom was commonly associated with Owls. Well, owls are nice birds and have cool features like their neck's ability to rotate up to 270°. Owls have large eyes which make them look as if they're very cautious. Well, i can't argue that Owls can represent wisdom but i can argue that they are not the best animal to represent wisdom. For instance, can an owl match the Octopus?

Here are a few octopus' facts:
*They're invertebrates, in the same phylum with snails, slugs, clams, etc.
*Octopuses have neurons in all their eight arms. This makes them great at multitasking because all eight arms can function differently at the same time. More like a creature with nine brains (one central).
*Although related to slow and immobile organisms, octopuses (as well as squids) can be very fast in water.
*Octopus; Octo -eight, pus/podus -foot literally means eight foot while its class Cephalopods literally means head foot.
*Looking at the octopus its head is just that small part where the eyes can be found just above the arms. The mantle cavity (which houses its stomach, anus and other vital organs) makes a cephalopod look like an organism with a very large brain.

For my village, na witch e dey rep o

All things consider, lions are king of the jungle. No king rule a kingdom by itself. It's usally a group thing. Lions seem to posses that. Even though they are the strongest of the big cats. They still rely on group strength to ensure greater success.

Which is what kings do. The greater there stretch of kingdom the greater their dominance and chances of increase conquest.

Depending on how much you know about the Lion and your point of view

yes the lioness do most of the hunting but it takes the lion to secure their kill from scavengers, like the hyenas who are usually more than thrice the number of the lion pride.

Well judging from what I've seen on Nat Geo Wild, I'll agreet with u on this.

No one knows it all. What you thought was true today may just become false tomorrow. There are a few things we know about a few animals but we don't really know if they're true or not. Read this article to learn 5 wrong animal stereotypes we've been using to judge animals

5 wrong animal stereotypes

Lions are the king of the jungle
Lions to many people, represent pride. Pride literally a group of lions. Here are some facts about lions:
*Male lions, when in a pride, mostly relies on the females for food. The females mostly do the hunting
*When male lions become the alpha male of a pride, they kill and (sometimes) eat the cubs of the females impregnated by other males
*Lions don't come first in anything; not in size, strength, speed, niche, etc.
*Most lions aren't found in the jungle or forest. They can be found in grasslands, wildernesses, savannas, etc.
*Other animals fear lions because lions are social animals (strength in numbers), predators and scary

How can lions be the kings of the king of the jungle if they mostly aren't found in the jungle? How can lions represent pride when all they do is sleep, hunt for food and eat? Why don't lions come first in anything? Such kings they are.

Let's talk a little about tigers:
*Tigers are mostly solitary. They only meet each other accidentally or when it's mating time. Although they're solitary, they still hunt successfully and dominate
*They're mostly found in the jungle/forest. In other words, they dominate the forest
*Tigers are the biggest cats
*Their limbs are so strong that if they die standing, they still won't fall

Now, who should be the king of the jungle?

The lion is a formidable cat, the aggression of a full grown male is so much that no animal is a match. Even a full grown white polar bear is a no match for the lion. You also mentioned the tiger, well those that called the Lion "king of the jungle" made their own research before saying that.

Lol... But on a more serious note, the lion doesn't really do much to be given that title. Thier strength lies in the pride which consists of mostly lionesses. Unlike other cats that are solitary. A full grown tiger will kill a full grown lion in single combat.

Lion is exactly like the human kings and queens.
He don't fight unless situation calls for it as the last option and he is fearless.

Als cos he lead a pack in the pride. what other big cats can't do as they live solitary lives.
What makes one a king? Cos you have people u lead. He leads the rest.

The lion fights and protect the pride from intruders and would be usurpers. I've seen lionesses struggle with a prey and suddenly the lion comes and bring the prey down within seconds. Lions are not lazy please. It's division of labor and they know their part.

The bears.

They are found in the Jungle and pound for pound can kill any other animal easily, which can include the lion and tiger. The tiger avoids them in the jungle.

And lest i for forget, the lions are very lazy and depends on the lioness for food and everything. They sleep half of day. I liken them to Gigolo's.

Lions are designed for combat. They are always combating for superiority unlike the Tigers.
Sometimes lions do hurt. I have watched it so many times

lazy or not lions still got the respect and fear of other animals not because of it's kingship but because of its courage to face obstacles expecially alpha lions. And even the tiger runs when he fights a lion.

first, Lions don't stay in the Jungle and they aren't the strongest big cats.
there are factors to consider when laying such claims.
Tigers are the strongest big cats

Only when it's to be hunting daily but never lazy when it comes to defending it's territory and also bringing down huge prey the lioness can't handle.

Lion is not the strongest of the big cat thats why the OP told you that they don't come first in anything.

TIGERS ARE THE STRONGESTS IN THE BIG CAT.

Totally disagree with you on Lion . Lion is always a king of jungle, it can hunt only when the prey is too powerful for lioness that is where the king would come in.
About fast, speed, etc you mentioned, these are not a quality of a king. If you know about lion very well every great lion has a territory under it control.
Mere looking you know that lion has a good quality of being a king. Lion is a king of jungle.

U are wrong. TIGERS ARE THE STRONGEST AND HEAVIEST CAT. Do ur research properly. Tigers gat stronger claws, has biting force than the Lion.
Lion advantage in a fight is just that it's mane protects his neck from been biten.

TIGERS ARE STRONGEST CAT
