Refineries that gulp billions every year in the guise of turn around maintenance.
Sell NNPC, let Nigerians be shareholders in the company with a prudent management based on capacity and competence and not the current ethnicized NNPC where appointment is reserved for children of the elites embarassed

I will sell it to my friends. Who am I?

NNPC have been a Bottomless pit for sinking billions of Naira, and Nigeria never benefit from it, They only want to save their means of stealing from the Government Nothing more

Well, if you are not selling refinereis...then allow subsidy to go so that NNPC can function as a proper company, raise enough cash to fix all its refineries AND build new ones, and finally end all this subsidy cabal corruption stuff.

Is it subsidy that is preventing d refineries from working?

Atiku wants to sell to his PDP cronies.

Compensation for Obasanjo

40% shares of NNPC is going to Obasanjo. This is a fact. That was the grand gift presented to Obasanjo if he can help push Atiku to power.

40%!

Nigeria is about to be resold by Atiku

Would've been better off run by private investors.

Tell one government privatization that has worked fine.

They don't privatize it as should be done, they share to friends and well wishers.

Mention just one that has worked after privatization. Just one!

if you don't sell subsidy will remain

If we refine locally there be no need for subsidy

Nigerians have to get certain benefits as an oil producing country.
Since the past govt had failed to invest on infracstructure, electricity and our refineries this will continue to subsidizeso Nigerians can afford it

U sold NigAirways- No result
U sold Nitel - No result
U sold NEPA - No result
Naw to want to sell NNPC to urself and cronies, God will not allow you D ugly looking thiefing pig.

Nigeria airways was not sold.
NITEL...yes o, that story had as it be.
NEPA: Part of the problem is that DISCOS are forced by the laws governing them to sell below power production price. That means they cannot raise enough cash to fix problems and expand generating capacity.(and why they cannot buy power from GENCOS)
NNPC: Does not need selling...but the subsidy regimen means that they cannot make enough cash to fix stuff..as subsidy forces NNPC to sell below the production cost of fuel (plus corruption).

In Nigeria it doesn't work because of our stereotypical mind set that govt biz is an avenue to be corrupt. V

If we all personally change our mindset, things will work.

Things like health, fuel, water and power are too important to the survival of the masses to be left solely in private hands.

Private will just make them survival of the fittest and only those that can afford it will get it

Does anyone notice that NNPC is Northern Nigeria Petroleum Company? NNPC and its subsidiaries are dominated by the northerners while the Niger Delta that produces the oil are treated like outcast. The level of corruption going on in NNPC is very high and only privatization can stop it. Atiku means well for Nigeria, he may not be a saint but he has my vote and that of my household. If you don't agree argue with buhari who assumed office in 2005 grin

Govt should get out of doing business and get on board only to put out the right policy to make Nigeria the best country in the world.

Same way it was done to NEPA and you keep paying huge estimates billing for what you did not use .
They should not sell it before. SAUDI ARAMCO is government owned and functioning great .

You kinda right
We are already refining locally but we need to increase our capacity.
If that is done international market regulations will not affect us.

Until we start refining locally though nobody knows what will happen most time Nigerian products are usually more expensive than imported ones

It's not about only those that can afford, it's all about interest and favorism.

Nitel was sold less than bidding price to a PDP stakeholder. We all know who acquired it. Where is Natcom that bought it today? They are close to grave.

Is a white elephant an asset to the country? If privatised, it's energy will be released and it will have transformational change on the economy
