Thank you Ma.

Ifeoma77:

Yes you would definitely hand over the naija license. Having the FRSC letter and license will only give you exemptions if you have years of driving under your belt. i.e. you can't show up with a spanking new license and get the exemption. The license has to be at least one year old to exempt you from the G1
Also it must be original license, they check.
To verify that your license is genuine, go to the link below, enter your license number and DoB. If your details come up, it's genuine. If it doesn't, it's fake - even if you did it in FRSC office

Hello Seniors, please if spouse is unaccompanying. Can the primary applicant land with the kids or only the primary applicant can land. We are waiting for our PPR but dont know if we have to submit passport for the kids and primary applicant or just primary applicant. Please help
Hello... since only the spouse is unaccompanying you can land with your kids if they were included as accompany during the application process... the passport request letter would also include them... them being the kids
efueh:
IMO the emphasis is on UNACCOMPANYING!
That means only YOU and no extra person is allowed to come in with your PR VISA.
Others can weigh in with direct experience.

So long as the kids were declared and included in the application, you can land with them. They will also be issued their own immigrant visas in their passports

Hey guys,
For those that got their Driving records/Extract from Lagos how much did you pay and how long did it take? My contact in FRSC Lagos is asking for 25k and says it'll take 3-4 weeks.
Can you share how long yours took?

That's pretty steep. I've heard of a guy in Abuja who can do it for between 5-10k.

Search here for phone number of Mr Sule. He is with FRSC Abuja and did mine within a week. Gave him 5k voluntarily as he had to courier it to my location.

Friends please I have landed in Calgary now, I came in through Toronto and the only thing I have done is the SIN.

What other things do I need to get sorted that I have not included in this list please help.

Bank Account
Health Card
Plan to take the driving test
Go to an employement Centre ? probably ??

By the way I flew a westjet flight from Toronto to Calgary and you know what, there were only 2 black guys with more than 100 caucasians on the flight, do you know how it feels being a minority in a place ? Exactly, all eyes were on me I could feel some were even surprised I could speak English lol not really tho, but it felt really awkward.

Will I now marry a white girl ? Lawwd knows ...... cool cool cool cool cool

Okay. I just sent the email and called him. He asked me to send the same details via text. I can't believe that I was begging to pay 20k instead of 25k and now I'll get everything done with less than 6k (I know he said it's 3,500 for courier to Lagos via GIGM but he deserves some recharge card money). You people have saved me 15k. Thank you!!

This is what happened with me. I renewed my license at past 26 but i just checked the olodo document and it still says graduated u-25.

MissTobs:

U-25 can only be changed if the renewal is after the applicant's 26th birthday. (Although some people are 27 and their license still has U-25. it's perplexing)

Hi all. Just got this info and thought to share.
With your library card, you can have FREE access to a wide range of online courses from different sites, including LinkedIn Learning. There is also an amazing site, affiliated with libraries in Canada and I think US, (gale.com) that offers short courses in different fields, from accounting to computer to programming, project management, even medical field.

Just go to your local library website, search and click on Elibrary > Online Courses, and go through the content. You must log into each site with your library card number and password.

All the best to us!
