That's like the most important factor. Accomodation in Lagos takes careful planning especially when one is starting out.

very very cheap.
acomadation is cheap, from sef con to 3 bedroom flats.
constant electricity of about 20 hours per day.
foodstuff is damn cheap.
transport is also cheap, highest is 50 no matter where you are going,if its by korope or taxi..and bike is not to different.
lots of clubs to ball.
but its a bit dull unless you have one or two friends to hang out with. people dey always mind their business.
Fam, do you have an idea of how much a 2/3 bedroom flats goes for in a nice area in osogbo?

I don't mind at all. I am a freelancer on Upwork. I also publish on Amazond KDP, and run affiliate campaigns with Maxbounty.com.

Upwork writing earnings - $1500 per month
Kindle royalties - $300 - $500 per month (45 books which were ghost-written for me).
Maxbounty affiliate commissions - $400 - $800 per month.

A good month I earn N800K. A bad month, N500K.

It took three and a half years to get to this point, though. Check out my freelance writing guide here: https://www.nairaland.com/4430098/opinion-which-bigger-better-between/1#66358589

What I’d really like to know is how much a basket of tomatoes costs in any of the Warri markets. sad

I’m referring to those large handwoven baskets that arrive in lorries from the north.

Living here is not expensive as the town is a mixed developed one. You have every shade of mix from fine buildings in a cool area to slum-type buildings in the city centre.

Accommodation:
3,500 -5000 per room /month (neaby villages and city centre
10,000-15000 /month per one room self contain
1 bedroom flat is 15000-18000/month.
2 bedroom flat is 18000- 30000 depending on area and finishing including car park.
3 and 4 bedroom is 20000-35000 depending on the finishing.
But one funny thing is that in the same area you see a flat of 30000 per month you can see anothe of same shape and size though diff finishing at 22000.
Sanitation: = 0
Menial job is plenty and business of all shapes abundant. Industrial employment is near to ,0.

IBADAN

Accommodation: it depends on the area. Bodija is the most expensive, followed by oluyole /ring road areas and others. I stay in the Allen of ibadan - ring road. A self contain is 80-160k. One bed room flat is 150-250k. Two bedroom flat 200-300k. I get an average of 23 hours light per day. Only a few places enjoy such uninterrupted power anyway

Transport : transport is cheap compared to lagos. You can get a minimum of 20 naira bus and the minimum price of Okada is 50 naira.

Food : food is cheap here. With 300-500 naira you can buy 2 pounded yam with 1 goat meat in a local restaurant.

Olosho. You can get that for 8-15k depending on your specs

Jobs. Menial jobs are not scarce. But white collar jobs are scarce. In fact, ibadan economy is powered by yahoo yahoo guys and government. As for me, I'm a freelancer and I earn about 800k-1 million monthly. But most times, my monthly expense is just 60k.

Verdict. Ibadan is not boring if you have money. Getting accommodation is cheap. However, getting a good job here is difficult. If you are into agriculture or are self employed, you will enjoy this city.

I want to come to Ibadan on a three week holiday. I need a place to stay. You got any suggestions? Something like a self contain with living room and kitchen.

Thanks.

Nigeria is not an amazing country. I can't say much because I don't know the quantity/size but the price of groundnut is on the high side here compared to other northern states.
With 150k you can get a clean two bedroom flats here. Though it depends on the street, that same amount can only get a self con at APC quarters. I don't like eating out, I cook almost everything I eat when I am at home. With 7k, I can cook three different soups and still have some change. A plate of food in restaurants here is between N250-500.
An average hotel room costs N5k here, you can get cleans ones with N2k though. It is about location and environment.
Never had any business with these ones so I have nothing to say.
My location is Suleja, Niger state

I live in abakaliki, an average self con costs between 120k to 150k. Mini flat costs around 180 to 250k.

Keke ride costs between 50 and 70 box.

A bag of pure water costs between 100 and 130.

Olosho, costs between 5k and 10k for short rest either in your house or in your hotel room. I don't know the price for those that are resident in brothels.

An average plate of food in an eatery costs around 300. It definitely costs more in places like Vegas, etc. I eat out sometimes and cook other times. Prices of food stuff are average.

For kids school fees, I don't know as I am not married.

Ah Mr. Grupo from treasury bills. Good to see you here. I'm from Abakaliki haha

True. In Choba university envr u can get a good self con as low as 70k. A descent one room as low as 35k.In the city like Rumuomasi, Rumuobiakani, okporo, you can get a self con at 150k and 1 bedroom flat at 250k. My sister lives in an estate and she pays 250k for one bedroom flat apartment. Feeding; with 1500 you can prepare a descent soup. Clothing: cheap as Aba is close. Transportation from 50 depending on distance. Education affordable depending on your choice if you want costly ones. You can get a good private school at 30k. Security only good in the major cities but try not to stay late with your gadgets.

Is that 35k for one year?

Everything depends on your purpose of staying. Do you want a quiet environment? Do you want an area where you can club and have fun? If you can provide answers to that, I will offer you some pieces of advice

It's very easy. Just get a hotel at ring road. The average price per night is between 10k-15k.

Otherwise, tell your girlfriend to suggest a better option for you

Wouldn't it be better to get a self contain or something like that for one year? Did you read my post that I'm staying for a month and half? Self con is how much yearly? So why would I pay 10k per night for 45 nights
