Hello landed Seniors, Trust y’all keeping well. Am landing in Calgary early April. I started my accommodation search early cos am traveling with my kids. I must say this accommodation thingy is not a walk in the park at all. Without employment, credit history or references no one is willing to rent. When u find one too, it’s an adult only building or single occupancy ♀️♀️♀️♀️. Immediately you tell them you are a newcomer, end of conversation. My friend went for viewing of another place on Friday and as usual no employment wahala. She insists on taking 6months rent upfront.....I was negotiating for 3months upfront but proving difficult. Even though I can afford the 6months rent upfront, giving out such an amount early on in this journey freaks me. I need your honest opinions pls. Thank you |

junypapa:raise a LOE and state the truth, do not hold anything back. people have been misrepresented by agents and even told a lie or two, intentionally (which is bad) before now and have gotten PPR. they told the truth. yours will not be an exception edited: junypapa, am sorry if it appeared i was shading you, i wasn't. just state what the agent did. your application would be fine. maternal no pun intended, just stating the obvious. whatever it is that is eating you up, i hope it goes away quickly. it is either you throw salvos to get attention or that's just your person, either way it's too bad. YOU NEED TO CHANGE. the thread as been peaceful in your absence You don't strike me as a blunt person, you are just plain RUD.E and i.ll mannered learn to treat people with LOVE and RESPECT (which many folks on this wonderful thread do) irrespective of their wrong doings, abstain from being judgmental and confrontational. |

[quote author=oluphilip2008 post=75611589]LANDING GIST!!!! Long Post Alert!!!! LUBRICANT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Good read. Goodluck!! We needed to do some renovations on the house before deciding on what what to do with it. This renovation works set our preparations back with about one week, as the entire house was upside down and we couldn't really do much. Finally we were left with only one week to our travel date, time seemed to be flying so fast that 24hours seemed not to be enough in a day. We bought a hand digital scale to weigh our bags to ensure they're all within the normal limits. I had put a 4litres palm oil in the freezer about a week earlier (I should have done like 6 smaller bottles of 75cl instead). The palm oil didn't eventually make it as our luggages were already overweight at the dying minute. There was no way to reduce the palm oil and take smaller quantity as it was frozen. Hubby didn't even give me the chance to reason what else we can remove before dropping my palm oil. Very painful, but I couldn't do anything about it. |

I share in your sentiments about saying the truth and proving beyond reasonable doubt that the follow up information being provided is the absolute truth, hopefully the person will be considered and such error pardoned. Lately I have been shocked by the number of people I've encountered that have had real nasty experiences with travel agents/consultants. Not only do they lose large sums of money, their chances of travelling out is ruined. Sometimes, it's not their fault that they fell into wrong hands. iaatmguy: |

iaatmguy:For que 1. I doubt it because it means your spouse is the one with a clean record and not you. Unless it was joint insurance as they have that option here as well. The one i used expired in 2018. So it's worth trying since it's combined with the frsc clean record. |

Only account holders can buy PTA as stipulated by CBN Applicants must be eighteen (18) years of age and above Applicants or Beneficiaries must possess a valid Nigerian Passport The applicants journey must not be less than 5 hours long by flight from Nigeria. The take-off country to the desired destination must be from Nigeria. PTA Applicants will only be able to get access to $4,000 per quarter (every 3 months) BTA Applicants will only be able to get access to $5,000 per quarter (every 3 months) |

chizilulu:I found out it's a lot cheaper using rentals than Uber. They (Enterprise) accept Naija driving license as well. The time my Cargo arrived, Uber was gonna cost 120 to 150 cad while rental was 30cad (depending on the type of car) for 24 hrs. I have gotten rentals for as low as 17cad for 24 hrs. So it's really good for family outings. We planned rentals for days when we had plenty errands to run. It also helps you get familiar and comfy with driving pending when you get a car as I was successful at advanced road test at first attempt. Modified: If you are considering using rentals, when getting a credit card, get the option that comes with rental insurance. RBC for e.g has one that has an annual fee of 35cad (It may be cheaper with other banks). Full rental insurance with Enterprise (optional but advisable) per day is 25cad so it pays for itself with change in 2 days. |

Hi Everyone, when I was in Nigeria I used to buy scratch cards for driving insurance and used agents at the local government. Now I am being asked to produce a driving insurance for all my period in Nigeria. Is there anyone who has had this problem or know anyone able to assist with this? |

Adiepena:It's fairly easy, download the rentfaster app from the play store, but you need someone to go help you check the apartment though, I could give you the number of my property manager.... Check this website... https://www.rentfaster.ca/ab/calgary/rentals/?user_ID=20919 Just pick her number from the listed apartment |

iaatmguy:I say my opinion then leave. Why do people who don't like me or my style continue responding to me ? A lot of people annoy me, but I leave and ignore them. I pick and choose who and what I respond too. Some people here are wolves in sheep clothing. This isn't a little white lie or a mistake. This man is a legit 419 guy. After using fraudulent ways to secure a visa through "an agent", he's now in hot pepper and is coming here for legit valid opinion ? Does he want honest law abiding people to help him figure out how to continue cheating the system ? Let him go confine with his "agent". People leave naija because of people like him. 419 cheats, who's always looking for ways to achieve things through illegitimate means or through the back door. A guy like this will definitely erode the system if he comes here. I doubt Canada lets this con-artist in. my 2 kobo. On a side note. Why was my response deleted ? Which kind democracy is this on this board ? |

). We're a family of 7. I decided to use all my luggage allowance instead of spending so much money to cargo. We limited our clothings to about 6bags only(mostly native attires). Other personal effects like documents, pictures etc were put in the 7kg bags. The rest of the bags contained foodstuffs (8pcs of 23kgs).
). To minimize the nausea and motion sickness, I try not to eat while flying. So the first leg I didn't bother to collect food as the sleep was even more important to me.
). We couldn't thank him enough.
