I am eager to see who will give Butler the max contract.

Sharp GM went to get Harris as insurance. Only a crazeman GM would give Jimmy Butler max

Also how dumb must Dell Demps feel knowing he could have gotten Ingram and Kuzma

Demps stance is something I still don't understand, Kuzma might not be a generational talent but he has shown all-star potential (under a coach whose player development ability is quite suspect, the improvement of Russell and even Randle is a testament to this).
I really will like to see Kuz under a coach that had talent improvement pedigree I seriously am sold on the dude being big time

Luka Doncic is a beast at closing games.

Ahhhh. At 24? I don't like discouraging people at anything ever but just starting the game at 24 is a bit late. The amount of catching up you need to do I don't know if you can cope oh

Questions like these break my heart. I asked myself the same when I was 18 and to be honest, it was late AF for NBA. Impossible at 5"8 grin cheesy. If you're really dedicated, you can make it to other basketball leagues and Europe and China and your talent has to make up for your age. Better late than never.

I doubt it ,very late at DAT age.u have to be extremly extremly extremely talented to get an NBA contract at DAT age with strong exposure. Michael carter Williams a former rookie of the year was just waived by houston. But I dunno abt euro leagues or china.
Re: The NBA Begins by donlittle25: 8:35pm On Feb 11, 2019
NBA dream is over, but you can decrease your age and make it to the USA on college scholarship.

But now you said you are 6'6? You need some certain skills to play those positions. If you were 6'11 or above, it would be easier as you could just make it over here been a center and grabbing the boards and defending. But at your height, certain skills are required which takes years to learn, from younger age.

Yeah, your basketball IQ has to be off the charts, and in today's NBA be able to shoot 40;50;90 without much training already.
Simply you have to be a basketball savant with the shooting skills of a Steph Curry to make it into the NBA at 24 without previous professional experience.

China, Philippines and the Balkans are his best bet honestly. Nigeria is such a waster of talent though and I'm a bit surprised a 6'6 ninja is just stumbling on basketball at 24

I'm surprised too. I got back here and saw guys of 6'9, 6'6 here in Lagos who just got into Bball in their late teens cos either their parents didn't give them the freedom to play and other BS like that. Wasted talents everywhere. It's so unfortunate. If not that I'm scared of most of them, I'd have talked them up at the court I play at. I'm still looking for a responsible one to talk to. China will welcome a lot with open arms

Make he comot mind for US and focus on China or Europe tbh. The time it might take and the quality of basketball he might need to play to be able to make it is a sore point. SmooshCHN has given him the best window. Hopefully he follows up

It's mental really. I always look at a guy like Olajuwon who was roasting and didn't discover basketball till he was 16/17. Think of how good he could have been if he started at a younger age.

Even back then we were playing for fun at National Stadium and Punch Estate but how do you tell your parents you want to play basketball when all your mates are entering university? Plus you see the Dodan Warriors and so-called pros here and they aren't doing too well so you just face reality

It speaks to the system that someone of that height is just attempting basketball at 24. If he's serious sha it's worth a shot, you never know

Truth is, age is not on your side but I really admire your courage and drive. If you are insistent about the NBA, I would say get a college admission in a DI or DII school in the United States and when you arrive pursue an open try out with your school, which typically starts around summer.

You may or may not be offered a scholarship depending on your skill level and how much scholarship is available but you may also be a walk-on and that avails you a chance to be in the team, train with the team and with luck and maybe injuries, you can get a game. Else, use the Asia, Eastern Europe route as suggested by others. I think that is the best shot you have. The NBA has intensified its search in these leagues.

Before you waste your time and resources, please make sure you are a talented baskeballer. I have seen folks claim to be talented but when I watch them, I weep in severe pain.

Even Embiid started at 16.
Well Nigerians parents may not understand sports . (Even my parents especially my mom used to persecute me for playing basketball. I haven't played in over 5 months now)Like in the case of Anthony Joshua.

Embiid, Siakem is that rare case everyone is talking about. But they were already in the US so the environment and system makes it easier for them to develop quickly and with dedication and determination, but it's very rare. Its good you have started early tho. I had this discussion with a friend's younger brother who is 25 and still hoping to make the NBA. Dude's good tho, but as we were watching the Sixers-Nets game, I just listed the whole players he's older than and why making the NBA is near impossible. But from this discussion, I will have to talk with him to consider the suggestions made by @Roland17 and @SmooshCHN but I still doubt he is talented enough tho

Some are slowly starting to understand though. The thing with parents is you have to show them you're all in. 5 months is a terribly long time to be without basketball at your relatively young age.

You have to sit down and ask yourself what you really want and how badly do you want it. I didn't want it bad enough back then because I didn't really think I was that good so it's up to you

Curry is slowly leaving the conversation. The stars in that lineup are eating him up. LeBron too.

Guess it boils down to 3 now...
