I haven't travel of recent. I didnt travel all through last year, i went to the Uk in Dec 2017, and got back Jan 2018. and haven't traveled sinced then. Infact, the Visa has now expired.

Will renew once i pick up my passport at DHL.

There are just basic things, from what i have read on here, and also asked from friends and family who were granted.

1. Make sure if you are being invited, whoever is inviting you, is in the US legally. because right from when you fill the form, and you input the persons details, they pull out all info on your host when checking.
2. If you are using hotel or any other, make sure your salary or job is enough to fund your trip. You would also have indicated all these on your DS160 form.
3. Be sure not to have discrepancies, anywhere.
4. Before the interview, they already know if they are going to give you or not. I don't think i said anything extra ordinary during the interview to change his mind.
5. During the interview, be confident. If you have travel history, this helps a lot. If you don't, talk more about your job or ties you have back to nigeria.
6. Prayer tops it all.

Yes but they may not check it... in short it's not really important because it can be written by anybody.

My mom will be going for an interview scheduled for April and I helped her fill the DS-160 form and also booked her interview. Visiting visa B2 visa, thats what i booked her for and did all this before I joined this forum.

An invitation letter has been sent to the embassy from her brother who is the person inviting her, I told her to go with her bank statements, Land documents and divorce documents because she is divorced.

Please are this documents enough for her or is there any other thing I need to send or know.

As a matter of fact I never send any documents to the embassy, I just filled out the form appropriately and booked, thats all.

But i guess it works both ways .

It is even very possible someone goes online to apply today and finds an opening for February,...

Not so sure how it works but dates could spring up between different times , it is almost impossible not to have a date in between March no matter the amount of Application.

To my own understanding, If you go online to book now and you see February date, it might be due to those that reschedule their appointment date and probably the reason why you have that date.

Not a big deal ..if you don’t get it the first time,you will eventually get it ..Nigerians are too desperate forgetting that there are a lot of things involved..

Of course people may cancel appointment and it becomes up to the fastest finger to snatch, but that you downplay scarcity of appointment dates like you just did above, that isn’t correct. You have some idea, but reduce the authority with which you assert, please....

Once again, There are no peak periods in US B1/B2 appointment , People confuse Lagos with things been erratic.(Every time in Lagos is Peak)

All year round Most embassies in Lagos are Flooded with application, The ones down North aren't that populated with applications.

Abokis don't go to US or CANADA like every other tribe down East, South, West .... They prefer UK.

Even Canada Has more Applications than US in Nigeria now, The rush has been diverted, now it is Canada, but Canada will only ask for your documents to be submitted, soon am sure they will inculcate the immediate style of admission.

I was not asked for any document, not even an old passport that had UK visa in it and I was still given. They hardly check documents except you are giving suspicious answers.

Good evening guys please I would like to know what my chances are in applying for a US visit Visa.
An agent applied for me in 2016 and it was writing on my ds-160 form that I was married with a child after quarrelling the agent he said he had to do it that way to show that I have family that I'm coming back to and that they don't grant visit visa to singles and unfortunately for me I was denied. Now to the questions been asked by the VO
VO: Have you traveled out of the country before?
Me: No
VO: Are you pregnant?
Me: No
VO:Do you have any child or children?
Me I have a son(due to what was in my Ds160 )
VO:You are going to Ohio
Me: Yes
VO: who are you going to see?and why
Me: My Uncle, to celebrate his fortieth birthday with the family
VO: Do you have any other relative in the US apart from your uncle
Me: No
VO: sorry your application can not be granted at the moment but you can reapply whenever you choose to .

Then I didn't know that I was suppose to ask for the reason for my refusal but on the paper I was given she said I did not demostrate a strong tie to my home country. Now to my major issue in my next application do I use the previous false information or I should use my correct information and made them know at the embassy during my interview that the agent I used before guffed in my application. I'm here again please, I don't have anything to do in the US at the moment and I want to make sure that my information with them is rectified can I apply for the sole purpose of correcting my information with them or I should wait till I have reason for visiting

Please, I want to ask maybe, appointment interview stated for 25th Feb will still hold because of the election postponed to 23rd Feb.

Please dont be given wrong orientation, I've never used an agent before and all statement made by me was from my own personal experience.

Please just find more information.

I believe this thread is to condemn the use of agents...

Imagine someone asking me to pay 4,500 just to know if I am eligible for Express entry when it is free!!!!

See we need to start getting the right knowledge and informations ourselves.

He does not realized how many people read/use this forum and what they learned from it, I will forever be grateful to this forum because I got my U.S visa through the forum and since that time, I promised to assist/learn (from) this forum as much as possible. So when you see someone yearning dust, you have to call them out.
