SE will never have the Senate President.
They did nothing for APC and by that fact, they can't reap where they didn't sow

Actually Nigeria Unity is at stake, APC will need a head to calm either of the Militant and Agitators so that PDP will not exploit them to cause trouble.

would this figure remains the same till the end of the 9th Senate? I wish the law compelling a candidate to lose his/her seat once they defect would be enforced. Also,it can further be reviewed by making candidates of political parties who won elections using X platform to lose their positions to the candidate who came second once they defect.

If you were more observing of the obvious details, the general calm in ND is a proof that the FG is making real its own side of the deal. Feelings are mutually positive.

They will only Sidon look even though APC doesn’t have the two third. The last rubbish they did that produced Saraki as Senate president can’t happen again.
I hope they will give the East (Orji Uzor Kalu) the senate president slot to balance the equation.
am in full support Sir

Oh. Thanks.

If they get 6 more senators,

It won't be difficult to get 6 judases from PDP.

You're mistaken

APC needs 12 more senators to have 2/3.

So it won't be possible unless some defect.

I see APC ending with about 68 senators.

They may convince 5 to defect including the YPP guy.

If I am correct there are 11 more seats vacant?

I say that if apc could get 6.....then 6 can come from defections... or hidden betrayal.

They need a solid loyalist for Senate President not a shifter drifter that can become a traitor anytime.

SE cannot be the senate president. All their senators are first timers. Only a returning senator can be the senate president. It means they will still suffer the consequences of their 2015 miscalculations.

Originakalokalo:

If APC gets 12 more seats, they will have the required two-thirds of the Senate.... Which means they don't need the opposition for anything...

Let's say they get 6 more... They will always get 6 judasses from PDP.

There are two sides to this coin.... It speeds up decision making.

On the other side, it brings the system to a one-party affair..which has serious consequences.

On one side I wish it happens to speed up development but on the other side it can lead to dictatorship.

But generally I want it to be one sided. By that we can know the real intentions of the government of the day.

First timer senator cannot be senate president. That's the Senate rule. Omo -agege likely to clinch the SP seat

Despite the fact that I support Buhari, I still don't feel happy about the outcome of the Senate. The moment we have them dominate the Senate, it would be a one party house and they may be doing any how. Which ever way, I wish the president elect a successful administration and hope he take us to the positive next level.
God bless Nigeria.

The fact that thist guy will go and sit somewhere away from my state is enough joy for me. Waiting for his people to loose in my state kwara come governorship election so i go rejoice.

The irresponsible current governor is even from my town and nothing to show for it. we contribute to pay some teachers and renovate schools as they're in terrible states from our own pockets so the people there can go to school .

Newcomer to the Senate cannot become Senate President because he has no prior experience in the upper legislative house. Ikweremadu is gone too. Spoils of war Bruv. Senate President North or SW. I would have liked Shekarau. An upright and trustworthy man like PMB but he is a first term Senator so not possible.
