Hi house. Let me share my entry story. I got into Texas end Feb. Trip was long and stressful thanks to my 2year plus son but glad that mum was there to assist. Used delta air at 34+weeks and no fit to fly was asked for …. n I spent hours at my Nigerian hospital to get it on the day of the trip instead of resting Delta air food was not impressive at all.. jollof rice and they don’t give socks to main cabin only first class and I didn’t carry any with me. Thank goodness I wore a long thick dress. POE was Atlanta and another flight arrived same time as ours so there was queue to pass through customs… na so my mum saw a cute puppy and showed my son ,next thing the boy went and started petting the dog. Oya time to move on the queue and my son refused to follow us, mum went to get him and he started crying.. loud cry o disturbing everyone. Na so one lady officer came to us and removed us from the queue and straight to CBP front. . My son still was still crying n I had to pick him up. The CBP just asked why we were here, my final destination, how much I had on me ,if I had food items and how long am staying then stamped us in… by then little oga had stopped crying and off we went to pick our bags to check in to our next flight. No documents was asked for, no bags checked nothing.. and I had been worried since I changed locations from Virginia which I used for Visa interview to Texas where I got free accommodation. In all it was Gods grace... now to arrange myself and wait for baby 13 Likes 1 Share |

Good morning all. I left Nigeria on Sunday and arrived Virginia on Tuesday. Wrote my POE story on Monday. Using Henrico Doctor's hospital and Dr. William Fitzhugh. Went for my first doctor's appointment on Wednesday. Forgot to stop by at the billing department of the hospital to make payment. Though I had pre-registered with the hospital over the phone last year November. Decided I would pay hospital fees by my next doctor's appointment next week Wednesday. Surprisingly, my water broke on Thursday night. I'm 35weeks and 6days. I was so scared. Thank God my mum is with me. Packed a few things and we headed for the hospital. Arrived at 12:24am Friday morning, checked and i was already 7cm dilated. Baby arrived 2:33am. I didn't use epidural. Labour was short but crazy. Used epidural for my first daughter so this no epidural thing got me bad. They brought in over 5 NICU specialist doctors into the delivery room cos they said baby was preterm and she would most likely have to go to NICU. To God be the glory, they checked her and all was well and no need for epidural. God is so Awesome! Please mums who used Henrico Doctor's hospital , I need steps on how to get all baby's documents fast as I want to be done as soon as possible and head to Maryland where I have family. Also, please I need the link for my husband to notarise for baby's US passport in Abuja. The link I have is for Lagos. Please someone help urgently. Thank you. 10 Likes |

I am a bit curious. I am wondering whether those that are now being rejected didn't show their budget sheets. At least the budget sheets would have shown they would pay less than 10k. Or did our mamas go there with high bills and change later? Really, I can't phantom these issues with less than 10k. |

But whats the solution......the best way out if ur bill was less than 10k Somehow this grp is not like before people were more eager to share info I’ve heard pple have gone ahead to pay 6k on 5 k bills but no one has come forward to say if they were able to renew after. Has anyone renewed without 221g interview Has anyone with a bill of less than 10k succesfully renewed Has anyone reapplied after d initial refusal and then gone on to get the visa Is abuja milder than lagos Etc The info here is too sparse |
Re: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedures Part 6 by aye88: 9:29am On Mar 03, 2019 |
drafrican: Whether it is vacation or childbirth, as long as the previous bill is less than 10k or with those discounts showed on itemized bill, it becomes an issue with the VO except by divine grace |

drafrican:Is it possible one should email the embassy like form a group or something (lol) send a mail fax or anything and politely ask what can be done because the way I’m scared it’s just asif I didn’t pay atall sef.or that @lagosniv should be brought into this 1 Like |

Re: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedures Part 6 by aye88: 9:34am On Mar 03, 2019 |
drafrican: Lol. The info is sparse because majority is experiencing the same thing. The few who were lucky came here to share their post. @ninab succesfully renewed via dropbox without inyervuew. @ejiroogi was succesful at her 221g interview even with a less than 10k previous bill. @ leez........ was also successful at her 221g interview even with a less than 10k previous bill. She used doctorresperati for her previous birth, amd she said she is also using them again and told the VO same, yet her visa was approved. At this junction, lets all go and pray 4 Likes |

Greatg0809: I have been thinking of the same thing. Maybe involve an advocacy group or something. Make noise about it till it gets tp the hears of the embassy, maybe they will tune it down. They have a right to deny or grant visa but this recent denial because of less than 10k is not fair. And completely no fault of ours. They should rather check their health care sysmtem. And i heard this us only happening in nigeria 1 Like 1 Share |

aye88: Thanks for this, been meaning to post something like this too where at least a few names will be referenced. A little study will pop this up, but no we won’t study. We rather prefer to align to everything hearsay! Truth be told, we are all speculating yet. But we have a real issue at hand, an annoying one at that! I have read several takes and keep wondering what the way forward should be on this actually. The representative of Doctoresparati Vlesparza has tried in their little way to make some clarifications as well as those that have attended the 221g interviews particularly and some legally resident Nigerians in the US on this thread, nothing still clear. Some are even contemplating paying up the difference per what was discounted even when some of the facilities are insisting they are not indebted to them. This situation is pretty bad now! The ones that will accept such offers after making it clear our people owe nothing, of what importance is this really? Why are our people being punished and made to look like “dumbos” just like that? These are people that felt they didn’t have to be like others, no “misbehaviors”, didn’t touch Medicaid, spent time and resources to search and bring to fruition their dreams, paid for it and were at rest believing they have done the necessary to avoid trouble in the future. Suddenly that same peace is being taken from them, this is somehow. I remember seeing some Hugo Boss suits I liked like mad selling for about 650 and I was trying to do my calculations on buying two, my US host who is pretty loaded laughed at me and advised that I exercise some patience till I get a good deal, in about three months after or so, he called me and said it was selling for about 350 each. On the weekend of purchase, he got 2 for that 350 as there was BOGOF. That should have been about 1300, and I did rock them suits like they were 1300. What am I saying? Discounts are well known to the Americans and us visitors too. Why will our people be punished for using discounts? I understand this is another sector anyways, but we are in the dark on this, we need some quality light. If there’s one time this thread needed to hear from @LagosNIV and @AbujaNIV, that should have been now, an out of the blue clarification from them would have sufficed.... I will appeal to them and ask others to join in that appeal too, to please do justice to this matter (just help do this and take a relaxing break once more please), let there be equity. What exactly is the position of things dear @LagosNIV and @AbujaNIV please? Is it true this happening is a peculiar to Nigeria and not general? What’s the “annoyance”, what are we doing wrong? Is this above 10k standard we are setting for ourselves needed at all? Will it even count soonest after now? Are the authorities enjoying the darkness this has put innocent applicants in or what? I doubt. Bring in some light please we plead with thee sirs! 23 Likes |

drafrican: are you still in Virginia? i ll suggest meeting the financial counsellor in person and trash things out...the itemized bills should have the actual amounts paid without discount since the letter of indebtedness doesnt cover anymore.. but no they insist it cant be done...I don call tire...eventually 1 day it will be sorted out. |

Re: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedures Part 6 by Beautyaddy: 4:03pm On Mar 03, 2019 |
Hmmm, SMH!....what a serious cry out...out of desperation If Nigeria was not a Very Hopeless Country that has lead people in thousands to now seek out having their babies abroad like the US, Canada and even Brazil just for the sake of foreign citizenship and in some cases to use the route to escape running away from Nigeria? Changing the requirements at any time to be granted US visas from the visa officers will not be so painful and to result in people now protesting. Very Sad. I have come to realize that most complaints of US visa denials that people post on this forum should be taken with a grain of salt and not the gospel truth in all entirety. OmoBendel24: 2 Likes |
