Wow.. how sure are you about this? Because what I know is that one must have commenced ACCA prior to landing and not necessarily completing it.

I will appreciate a link to your source.. thanks

so I made further research, and I found out from someone who had the same issue that's it peculiar only to CPA Alberta, other CPA provinces do not give that crazy condition, my apologies if I misled anybody

for those of us who have ICAN certification only, there seems to be light at the end of the tunnel, even though I do not know when exactly it's going to come to fruition. Read below the response from ICAN as regards ICAN to CPA conversion

Hi Segun,

MRA Still in progress, ICAN has provided all the required documents for the evaluation and the CPA has scheduled 2019 for the evaluation.

Our application is already in queue and following the CPA evaluation process, stay tuned!!!!

Nice one Kay,so what role were u offered at the new place, and do you still spend $400 on tfare

I presently work as a full time AML Investigator in the new place and I still spend almost $400/month on transport to work. The bill is covered by my overtime pay on a monthly basis anyway.

Woww.. my interest is actually CPA Alberta and I have never read such on their website. .https://www.cpaalberta.ca/Become-a-CPA/Internationally-Trained-Individuals/MRAs/CIMA

The only thing written is that one must have started the programme prior to immigrating to Canada, not really completing it..

I will like a confirmation from the house pls...

Hello,

I'd like to suggest an idea to help Canada prospective immigrants (myself inclusive). For those already on ground and have spent some months, it would be nice if you can write a review of your province or city ( experiences can't be same for everyone in same city). It would boost the information on the provinces on page 1 and help new comers as well to determine which city might favour them. Landed seniors can help by naming areas in their city that isn't the best area to rent a house for security reasons ( new comers esp those without relatives in canada will likey rent a place based on price and might know nothing about how safe the area is). Your current/updated reviews will really help.

Also, admin, can you please add info on front page regarding renting a place for newcomers without credit card etc. What documents are required for new immigrants etc.

P.S : anyone who doesn't agree with my post can ignore it, no insults. Thank you.

LANDING GIST (LANDED 2 WEEKS AGO)

ALL THE THANKS TO GOD

Congrats on your landing, may Canada favour you.
Please do you manage to have the contact of the winter wears dealer at Yaba or directions to find him? This would save a lot of stress in trying to find good ones and getting scammed even. Thanks.

I don't think any human being knows your fate!

Carve out that desired future for yourself. It's a land of possibilities as long as you are willing to work hard!

Please, send them a mail on this and confirm for yourself.

As a matter of fact, I am almost done with the process. I started about November last year and have been sent the membership application form ahead of May induction.

This is the information on CPA BC website. Could you let us know the source of your info? The truth is that information was included as part of the requirement sometime ago and its been updated since last year April, which is why i asked people to research basic stuff for themselves.

Hello guys.

Please, lets not conclude from just what we see on their websites.

Hit them up.. send them a mail or call them to confirm this fact. Until you get a confirmed response from them... do not be certain that you can continue the process when your ACCA exams have not been completed in Naija before leaving. I for one know the information I got.

I don't need to send an email, i successfully did it. Like i said earlier, the information on the website regarding completing the exams before landing was updated last year. If anyone is in doubt, let them contact CPA of whichever province they intend to settle.

It all depends what you value in life. Personally I don't value money so Canada fits me better. Seems we value the same thing.

Stop abusing language oga.

You don't value money yet you stay in minus 40 degrees at times struggling for money.

I am sure that for the right amount, you will come back here to even work for Buhari under Lai mohammed.

Some people migrate not for money but for better quality of life. Even if I get a job that pays 3x more than Canada, I still will not choose Nigeria.

Am sorry to drop this here but I believe so far the landing senior will prove me right or wrong.

Was on a thread where someone is considering leaving naija for Canada on a 7M annual salary job and a lot of opinions ensue but I dropped mine here. Pls tell me if this PR journey is not worth it

This is the more reason I have embarked on the PR journey and so far am closer to Canada than Nigeria even though am still in naija but am existing in utopia, a more perfect Canadian world.

I can't imagine having to live and serve a country like naija and still need to beg for help on social media at my old age.

Imagine parents spending there last on there children only to want to look up to them when they graduate hoping that they will get a good job but the children have to face evil reality of joblessness in naija eventually been frustrated not been able to cater for themselves let alone the parents. eventually the parent will be more poorer than they anticipated.

A country where I won't have to worry about school fee for my children for the first 14 years of their lives is worth trying.

Talking about tax, when you pay ur tax for certain facilities and amenities and u are really enjoying it I see no need to complain. U pay Nepa bill here in naija and also run generator simultaneously, u are doing yourself thinking u dey form big boy all because u collect 7M per annum. The stress of having to pull, polluting the air with toxic fumes from the general or kick start and some will even invest heavily on solar and inverter out of the 7M o just because u wanna cave a niche for yourself....

In Canada u work and get paid as at when due/per hour if u wanna hustle and ur work hour tallies with ur pay. No salary delay, no outrageous security challenge, like robbery and kidnapping cos u struggle to buy Tokunbo Benz and people think u have arrived in naija, no rushing at bus terminal like we have in Oshodi when the conductor have to open his smelly armpit over your head to collect fair.

Even, just and exposed society and people where nobody cares whether u trek with ur God given legs or u cruise on a 2019Range Rover sport.

I will like to take my chances going to Canada and am so dead sure I won't regret it. Will come back here to share my Landing gist soon and my progress in Canada. Can't imagine my child going through the same suffering I went thro in naija where u only get job by having to know people and not considering u base on your level of competence and experience.

Been working in Naija since I left university and no employer is even interested in the fact that I have a 2-1, all they ask of is who refers u here, are u computer literate as if everybody should study computer science.... Abegi

At this stage you are no position to write all of the above.

You have not experienced any yet.

You wil qualify say in 5 years time.

Next please.

It's pyschological.

You are just seeking validation for the choice you have made.

Granted Canada may have been better for you generally but would you come back if you were given a senatorial ticket in APC or PDP?

My point exactly.

I have raised the issue a number of times on this thread. People who are intending to live and work in Canada should educate themselves on what is and what isn't racism. All the information can be found on the Canadian Human Rights commission and and each provincial Human Rights Commission website.

Usually what many people perceive as racism isn't necessarily racism. Conversely, people may face racism or discrimination without knowing they are being discriminated because they ignore the law.

Racism is a very complex subject. Thus, the importance of getting familiar with the rules and regulations of their provincial labor board as well as the provincial Human Rights law. All the informations are available online.

For someone to be the only black employee on his team, if his/her manager doesnt like him/her, this doesn't necessarily mean the manager is racist. The manager may not like the black employee because of his personality and not because of the color of his skin.

In Canada if you are a landlord or business owner or employer and you have a building with no elevator (but only stairs) , this will be taken as discrimination against people using wheelchairs or with physical disability. Therefore, I don't think there is a building in Canada with no elevator . All the landlords, employers and business owners are required to accommodate people with physical disability

I personally cannot come to such a strong and sensitive conclusion by hearing 'It's not fair' after so much have been said in some other language. I though she understood the language and I was going to say she should have reported the airline staff before boarding her flight - just so the offender is called to order and stopped from doing same to someone else. undecided

This is a forum where we share our experiences for others to learn and be enlightened. I simply asked if you understood the language spoken and there's absolutely nothing wrong in my asking. You are the one who wrongly interpreted my question in your own imagination and that has made you quite edgy and unnecessarily defensive.

Anyways, I already mentioned my reason for asking and someone else has shared their own experience which I (and I believe others) have learnt from.

Good evening Sir,

Pls kindly read page one of each thread, there's information about engineers that has been posted there. Also go through Salford1's past post, he has posted a great deal about engineers.

Pls Sir, also try to research the various threads (Australia and canada), most of the questions you've been asking have been answered before therein
