After 5 Months I Still Can't Let Go. I Need Help! by ekanDamie: 7:02pm On Mar 06, 2019
ekanDamie:
I am the story of a guy who fell in love for the first time in his late twenties to a colleague who was everything.

Bee as I call her was the best thing that ever happened to me, life was beautiful for me, it was sweet, that feeling of waking up each morning to a thought of her, seeing her at work, helping each other out with difficult assignments, gisting non stop in the office, having lunch together, going home together, the calls and chats at home like we still had things to talk about despite we share the same office, then I go-to bed still with that awesome feeling of tenderness.

Then one day, to honour her family's desire she has to travel to a very distant country. If you think "crying a river" was metaphorical, then seriously you would in its possibility if you saw me the day she broke the news to me. There and then I saw the cracks on a beautiful portrait, I knew it would be a matter of time for all these awesomeness to end.

Well, fast-forward to today, we no longer exist, she has moved on to greater things, having so much to do, I have not been wallowing in my broken heart too though, I have been trying to advance myself academically too for better prospects.
But if I may confess, life is hard since she left, I have tried everything in my power to forget her, delete her number, delete myself from all social media so I don't get to see her face that makes me mellow, I have hooked up with an ex ex, I have dated the lady that replaced her at work, had sex with them since some say making out helps one forget.
Nothing has worked, no one seems to be able to erase her sweet smile from my head, her voice, her taunts, even if it's just our fights and quarrels I would not mind really.

It's been over 4 months, I wonder how much time my heart needs to forget, I suck at work, the environment at work has her all laced around it, I think to resign, that seems to be the only action I haven't taken.
If you know how miserable being without her makes me feel, you would understand how hard life can be.

Five months is still a short time... I hope you still feel this way 10 years down the line.

You just gotta move on man. Find someone that will show you the kind of love she showed you. You will always remember her but that doesn’t mean you should always dwell in the past. Move on cause she living better.

Sorry to hear this. What you need is a nice dose of self respect?

There is a good chance that she found it even easier to leave you because a man that doesn't respect himself cannot attract from a woman.

A woman who cannot respect you cannot love you either. Work on your self respect before falling for another girl.

Better yet... getting a girl to fall in love with you because of healthy self esteem and respect.

I think the best thing for you to do is to go ahead with the resignation. It will do you a lot of good and make you see things from a clearer perspective.

Things will begin to fall in place when you become jobless.

Thanks sis but it's not about self respect, the fact I have an emotional side does not necessarily mean I have a weak personality, it's not my first relationship. This just hit me below the belt.

Hehehe. Thanks for making me laugh. I though you were in my head till your sarcasm at the last part cheered me. Anyways, maybe I am not scared of joblessness. I just want my sanity

I think you should allow yourself to naturally forget about her with time

Don't worry you will be alright with time but mean while mingle with friends, go out and have fun and try not to call and chat with her. You need to free yourself of her.
Trust me you will meet some one new and this will be a thing of the past that you can laugh about someday.

I'll advise you track her down and relocate to wherever she resides now. You must find her and make her yours. Surely, you cant let this beautiful love story end just like that.

I think you are misinterpret "self respect" as weak or as abnormal. I agree it is easier said than done. But please re-read what I said.
