Hello great minds
Thank you’all for this interesting forum

Please I have a question, how long does it take banks to process international payment from here(Nigeria) to the UK?

I’m processing my school fees and my parent’s helping me. We went to our bank and I think it’s Form A they gave us or so. So filled everything both the receiving bank, my schools account and all. Since last two weeks my school has not yet received it. I went to the bank today they told me they’ve moved the payment to CBN since last week so the payment is with them and I just have to wait till they pay/transfers it off that school will get the Alert.

The whole wait is tiring and my CAS letter acceptance date is closing in.

I don’t know what to do

You are not the only one experiencing this sort of delay, i really don't know why it takes this long but it used to be quicker than this.

So what can I do now, I hate feeling helpless

Or is there any timeframe that I can at least be assured that before it completes the payment should hit schools account.

Registered side business?

Yes a registered Cac enterprise company, with a business account. So aside that I work in a financial institution, there is daily inflow (Pos n transfer) into my business account though not huge funds cos I sell products ( have a sales girl for that) and render services to people which comes almost every weekend!(makeup) So it’s not like am just depending on my salary. Kindly advice so I will know the way forward.
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 3 by Micafe: 7:01am On Mar 08, 2019
About 6 including my
Clearing agent. They get paid based on the work they do, Not salary. I have the likes of mechanic, panel beater, painter, driver, etc. most of them are artisans

How many people are involved in this company?
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 3 by Micafe: 7:26am On Mar 08, 2019
Thanks again for your contribution, it has been helpful. However, every month, I state ‘’Salary including the month.
There are frequent transactions. Both inflow and outflow with description of what the money is meant for. There was never a lump sum, its a car business which means every credit is in millions and for every car Sold, I have the bill of lading used in importing it.

I think henceforth I will start using my company name as the consignee, I never knew it could be an issue later.
But reapplying now, can I do without adding the bill of lading?
Also, I’m thinking of attaching 6months invoice of cars that were sold and give an explanation in the cover letter and explain how I import them.

I will consider the board resolution. God bless you.
bigtt76:
The ECO wants to see monthly entries tagged as salary (if you claim to be a salary earner) in your personal bank account statement.

In your business account, they want to see frequent transactions in and out of the account and not some lump sum deposit at varying intervals, if you claim to be a business person.

You also mentioned being a director with 95% shares good, why not include a board resolution stating the company is footing part or whole cost of your vacation as part of your director's benefit?

Depending on how you want to push your case, you might or might not need payslips. You might need to however, state how you arrived at paying yourself the salary.

On the bill of laden being in your name, I think that's a wrong move, it would have been good if it's in the company’s name. I mean, what company would order goods in the name of her employee? Rather in the name of the company with the employee's name as contact person undecided

Gbam!! Said it all.

Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 3 by bigtt76(f): 9:02am On Mar 08, 2019
You need bill of lading and invoices if you're applying for a business visa but in this case, you're going for visitor's visa ...you might not need all of that.

Like mentioned earlier, the ECO only wants to be sure s/he is not approving a visa to an applicant who would not return back to his or her home country hence the need to show adequate tie to your home country (motivation for you to want to return back) and this is usually (but not limited to) high paying jobs or business, landed properties, immediate family and personal investments.

1. You have a thriving business .....good!
2. You are well paid .....good but you need to justify that salary (the ECO would be wondering how come you earn that much as salary for selling cars, most people would have stated something in the neighborhood of N300K with the rest stashed as commissions on cars sold...to me that looks more realistic) - do you pay PAYE tax to government? If you do ....include the tax certificate.
3. Do you have other landed property in your name?
4. Close family ties?

I would advice you either decide to apply strictly on your personal terms and you won't have to include all the bill of ladings & invoices but rather your personal bank statement, family ties and property documents. On the other hand, if applying as company director, then submit your company documents and a board resolution awarding you an all expense paid vacation as part of your benefits. But again 95% shareholding of a company doesn't sounds good to me but might not be an issue. It makes it all look like a one man business masked as limited liability company .....those ECOs read meanings into all things we take for granted.

Last but not the least, it appears you did not correctly state how much you earn salary monthly and yearly in total. The salary inflow on your bank statement should also correspond with the outflow on your company bank statement. Some businesses maintain multiple accounts - one strictly for business (receipts from goods or services sold) and other for operations (funded with profits made and used to service the company's bills, salary and other expenditures).

All the best though.

It depends what he means by process, for application, its way too early, at-least late in May

Late may might be too late because of application surges during the summer. Best to start now.

Ok i get that.that means you pretty much decided what to take from the business as salary since you own 95% of the company?

Its 50/50 situation, put the additional money you get from the business in a section for other source of income and submit the company's paper to support the source of that money

I take it by day 8 you mean 8 WORKING DAYS?
If so and it's priority service, then you need to go on the TLS website, select the location you did your biometrics, click on the CONTACT US link as seen in number 2 point of the image attached, then you take it from there.

Hope this helps.

My visa application to the UK was refused and I got the letter today as I intend to visit a company I have been negotiating purchase deal with which sent invitation letter.

Although I have previously been refused for u explained deposit which was also not as seen by the ECO. sometimes salary comes the last date of the month or first day of the following month so it brought my salary to 8 salary payments in 6 months and that was reasonably understandable.

Apart from my salary I received 3 other deposit which was well explained. One being payment of my father’s landed property which was sold and money shared. And a refund of excess school fees from the school where I do weekend masters Programme. Another refund of 110k from the excess wall paper purchase to beautify my house. Apart from that there was no other deposit and these were all explained in the cover letter. But got refused initially.

This time the other deposit apart from my salary was the school fees refund showing the name of my school and the refund of 110k from the wall paper purchase.

The last deposit into the company account was 11th and the statement was printed 25th so how is this lodgement?

The company was not even contacted and here the refusal letter in the attached file. I feel the ECO based their decision on my previous application. But after the previous refusal I applied to spend the Xmas in Paris with family and got the visa and spent 10days with family in Paris.

Please gurus check and advise as I want to reapply to ensure the completion of the transaction.

I added the company account because they were paying for the trip. And I own the company with salary structure defined for myself (Director) and other staffs.

I am self employed, registered with wide operations. Pay out monthly salary of 2.6million monthly from all company outlets. Reflected on the company statement. Would I have also explained all transactions in company account, I only needed to submit company statement because company were paying for the trip. That I own the company doesn’t mean I have to spend from company account that was why everyone have to get paid and ensure company operate independently.

In your next application add your personal account were salary enters

And draft a letter to effects the former refusal...just wise will explain better

Please sir

When did u apply and when did u get response
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 3 by Fekeri: 7:15pm On Mar 08, 2019
I attached my personal account statement and explained everything in the cover letter. I’m convinced the ECO didn’t read the cover letter because I clearly spelt out how the deposits came in as salary and tallied with the company salary payment. And the other two smally refunds. I also referred to the previous denial in which my salary was judged excess. Anyways I need someone to give me idea because even the company up there are wondering of the refusal too
