He has his own place, it’s not modest by any means. That new wife won’t move in because she is sure, other women may have slept there and she wants a “fresh” house. His argument is he does not want to give her leverage i.e “This is my father’s house during arguments!”

Normal people would move into his house with the intention to sell the bachelor pad and buy a house together. She sounds like a spoilt brat

No matter how good the family is they would always use it against him especially his wife when things go sour, that's just how humans are.

The mistake was the announcement of it at the wedding ground. It creates another feeling.
The guy probably wouldn't have minded.

I will accept the gift and rent it out the money i get from the rent i will invest it some where else and most importantly i will take proper care of my beautiful wife since the man just gave me back some part of the spent on the wedding

On the other hand if i am poor i will ask the father whether if i marry another of his daugther will he give me another 6 bedroom house
