He was the same person that Ibori recommended and became the Principal secretary to President Umoru Year Adua.

i read this somewhere too that Ofoni is paternally ijaw and maternally urhobo. my question to u bro: Do the Ofoni people see themselves as partially Urhobos? or completely Ijaws?

Ofoni is 100% Urhobo community. Their historical root can be traced to Ughelli.
They are suffering from Identity Crisis. They bear Urhobo names and speak Urhobo language ,so what happened to the Ijaw paternal root they are claiming?

Ofoni people are under Tarakiri clan, do you honestly think he would win a senatorial election against other Ijaw people if he wasn't Ijaw, there is a high mixture with Urhobo due to marriage so the people tend to identify with both sides, the name Ofoni interestingly is Ijaw meaning bird

Big lie.Ofoni is Urhobo. It is because of this marginalization that has made this present Ofoni people to see themselves as Ijaws under Tarakiri clan.
How can a community be under a clan and don't speak the clan language nor bear the clan name?Does that add up?
Urhobo Nation must not sleep over this issue,we must let the Ofoni people know they are our kith and kin.

I was in Jos during the 2001 crisis and I heard that the Ogbomosho elder who gave testimony during the commission of enquiry sitting testified to that. He said the Ogbomosho Yoruba came to Jos over 150years ago but met the Urhobo on ground there meaning they both got there before the fulani. Of course they all met the Berom man in his land

Don't know how true it is anyway but there are plenty Urhobos in Jos
you correct bro. urhobos are the first non indigenes to settle in jos(plateau) and ajegunle(lagos)

Lol,in as much as not a few people would want Ogboru to win so as to at least change the power players in the state I don't think it would happen because the factors against Ogboru are much.

He doesn't stay back and do grassroot mobilization after each electiral defeat,he goes away only to resurface when elections are just around the corner, also he's become too washed up as an aspirant to a lot of Deltans and his candidacy overtime has fatigued a lot of them so the love really ain't there anymore like it was on the first two occasions that he contested and a lot of people are still vexing because of what transpired in the presidential elections and Deltans might just vent their anger on him by way of protest votes except the APC would deploy federal might to countervail these odds..
you are making sense, like u said delta is a PDP state and I don't think they are willingly to change power to APC.

Urhobo Nation must not sleep over this issue,we must let the Ofoni people know they are our kith and kin.

Don't worry, we will do everything within our power to protect one of our own, these people can be funny, a man from Ondo that speaks izon is called an Ijaw man, but a man from Bayelsa that speaks an Urhobo Language isn't Urhobo, not because of anything, but because his land was carved into another state, such hypocrisy.

I will travel down to Ofoni and make a video interview with some of the locals, I'm also trying to create some awareness.

Correct Oniovo. I want to write on this too for documentation purpose.
Do you know that the Apoi Ijaws of Ondo State don't speak Ijaw again, they now speak Yoruba language and bear their names. But,the Ijaws consider the Apoi-Ijaws as one of them( That is where Sowore hails from).
But Ofoni in this case ,speaks Urhobo language, bear Urhobo names. And they are claiming that they are under Tarakiri clan. All the other villages in Tarakiri clan speaks Ijaw language and bear Ijaw name. Why is Ofoni then different?
Thank God that you are in this too,we must not relent in telling the present Ofoni youth that they are Urhobos.

Oniovo,we need modern age Mukoro Mowoe to unite all Urhobos selflessly.
In Ijaw Nation, the Epie language is far different from the main Ijaw language. And also the Ogbia language. But they are all under Ijaw Youth Congress( IYC ).
The Abua people of Rivers who speaks same language like the Ogbias don not hide the fact that they trace their roots from Ogbia and they are all in IYC.
Why should OFONI that speaks Ughelli dialect of Urhobo Nation not be part of UPU?

What an eye opener Oniovo, never knew sowore is from Apoi-ijaw, yet his name sounds yoruboid, but somehow somehow the Ijaws will still claim them to be one of their own, but are fighting tooth and nail to deny Ofoni their true identity.

I will need to contact you when I'm ready for this research, our fathers failed in Uniting the Urhobo nation, we shouldn't fail our children. The Urhobo is what we truly have, it's our identity.

Urhobo, Ovuo'vo.

Stop saying what you dont know. Speaking a language doesn't mean some1 is automatically an indigen of a place.
Ofoni is a true son of tarakiri. Urhobo is just the language of the woman that bore those children for tarakiri.
If today i speak hausa, does that automatically make me an hausa man?

Urhobo is not a borrowed language in Ofoni, so spare us that analogy of yours. right from day one, people have migrated from various places, so because an Urhobo princess married Takari that automatically makes Ofoni an ijaw group?, do you know how close the Urhobos and Itsekiri's were in the old?, they married each other, lived among themselves, yet they maintained a unique language up till date.

What makes one a part of an ethnic group?, if not language and culture. keep denying your heritage, while reality keeps staring at you, and facts still remains you are an Urhobo man.

Aside ofoni, we also have some isoko communities in Bayelsa, what will you then say about that?, tarakiri grand kids adopted someone else's language, lol joker.
