That's mere scientific conjecture not yet proven. But in my culture , it is proven from time immemorial that children take after their dad. In fact , if a child does not after the dad , it may be suspected that something went amiss.

Sure we can. Theirs even a high probability of their kids to be more better than them if the mother has a dominant gene as well.
