ikombe:Not an amateur. Boeing updated their attitude control system and did not update pilot manuals, and this pilot was not trained on the new system by the airline. |

MyVILLAGEpeople:Mumu, so an experienced pilots with hundreds of hours of flying experience is a small boy. Boeing made a plane that is faulty causing two fatal crashes in just space of five months. They should take full responsibility for those crashes and should never push blame on dead pilots. |

MorbidAngel7:Boeing themselves claimed the simulator training was not really compulsory as pilots can easily adapt to the new planes with moments of familiarisation training on there iPad software. They are trying to blame the dead pilots for the plane's design flaws. |

.....he cut short the lives of others just like that. He may have been told not to fly that plane untill he's through with the trainning, but over sabi wount let him change his mind. |

MistadeRegal:Oga, Boeing did not train pilots or give them heads up on what to do when that plane stalls. It is not about that pilot, Getachew. |

What a shame. Look how everybody on this thread has become an expert on MCAS tech because Boeing/ Ethiopian Air couldnt be bothered to train people anew If they had done the right thing, would we be talking about this ![]() They are blaming the dead man who cannot speak for himself. But if he had refused to fly the plane until he got the required training, he would have lost his job They actually killed him and everyone on the plane I hope his family is learned and financially buoyant enough to speak up in his defence, because everybody is trying to weasel out of paying compensation. Recommended Bible passage for all bloggers. Act 5. So you really want us to believe that an employee of Ethiopian airlines came out to say that Ethiopian airlines is negligent, careless, substandard and unprofessional. Do you know what that means. Definitely you don't! And Nigerians swallow the story hook, line and sinker because we are used to handing out important affairs to incompetent, daft and clueless people. And hey, the colleague hasn't got a name? |

Face saving mechanism Heard Boeing will not charge to install safety devices on 737max. Hmm I thought Boeing will go down but seems they have different agenda in stock. |

I feel like slapping the pix of the pilot... O my God! Why won't someone be trained before placing the lives of 157 persons in his hands.. God O! Ethiopia airline should be grounded for life |

The heading is misleading. The headline says the pilot was untrained on the particular airplane but the article says the airline is just received the simulator. Which other pilot the airline had that was trained in the simulator? The headline seems to say it was a pilot error but the body says training was the issue. |

MyVILLAGEpeople:@ myvillagepeople..i respect ur opinion but his colleague might just assume that may not be d cause until we get d fact from Blackbox...but if he was not really good enough for that MAX8 ..Ethopia got to be sanction for such negligence |

/ The cover up is coming a tad too late. FBI has joined the criminal investigation to ascertain how Boeing 737 Max series got certification from Federal Aviation Administration. Corrupt Africans can collect bribe to say anything even when facts state otherwise. Of course, they will love to throw the little guy under the bus. There are reasons why USA, Canada,European Union, China, etc grounded the Max series that has nothing to do with a pilot in Kenya. / |

This is just an excuse to deflect the attention from the issue of the MCAS system which put both planes in an uncontrolled dive. From what I've been following on both the ethiopian and lion air crashes, It is a problem with the MCAS system. Any pilot worth his name knows how to pull a plane out of a dive, but when the system keeps overriding your commands, you have little luck, especially in a situation you've never experienced before. On the day before the Lionair crash, the plane nosedived and if not for a deadheading pilot who quickly diagnosed the issue and switched off power to the trim, it would have been different issue. Unfortunately, the next crew were not so lucky the next day and the plane encountered the same erroneous data being fed to the MCAS and nose dived. Agreed, training is key in the right simulators, but the basics are the same. From my point of view, Boeing is trying to deflect attention from their own shortcomings and blame it on the pilots. |
