it's not his first time to fly.

Remember the plane nose downed, anything nose down is a mechanical/ engine failure and not pilot.

Nonsense excuse

Nor mind them. Boeing will of course want to blame amateurish pilots for it.

Fact is it takes time for aeroplane models to establish a credible safety record. All experienced lawyers, engineers, pilots and doctors gather experience from somewhere. Nobody is born with it.

My guess is that the complexity of the software proved an insurmountable challenge in emergency.

No two cars or motorcycles of same model are exactly same. Same with aircraft. The systems will behave slightly different under similar circumstances.

One aircraft might allow auto system to be overridden manually in emergency and another might not allow it. It depends on the number and sequence of events of each emergency.

Bullshit..Was that same thing that happened to Lion Air? Was the pilot untrained too? Almost all planes now are computer based, so Boeing shouldn't give us that excuse at all. By the way, you knew the pilot was untrained, still you let him flew the jet huh?

I'm happy they have grounded all the 737 max 8&9...We are yet to hear from France to know exactly what happened inside the cockpit.

It was AOA error not pilot error

Boeing is a gonna

Ahaaa! Wat i suspected all along. So he was untrained to fly the new airbus but he was still compelled to fly it by his superiors. Heads ought to roll on this revelation.

Boeing has started to do what big manufacturers do, that is find a way to pin the crash or defect on the human- the dead pilot.
They have been trying to slip in the "pilot error" argument into the conversations so they get away from the numerous costly lawsuits and bills to pay to the relatives of the dead and to the airlines of the now grounded 737 Max. Suddenly, a "colleague" turns up. Expect many more to turn up.
Sadly in this case, the Lion Air crash in Indonesia has similar flight patterns to the crashed Ethiopian Airliner. So Boeing has to come up with two lies. Similar, matching lies.
I was also expecting Boeing to heap the blame on the pilot as being incompetent

Damage control
Nothing like damage control. To fly planes requires series of procedures which in turn requires training. If he didn't pass the training, he had no business in that cockpit. Like I said, he must have thought he could figure it out since it was still a Boeing 737 he used to fly forgetting that Boeing keeps changing its flight equipment in new series.

That's just so silly of them.
Blaming the dead.
They're just looking for an excuse so that their planes would be back to air in no time.

Well, that is capitalism for you.
The United States had to ground the 737 Max 8 because of China did it, not necessarily because of other countries did so. They are in an ongoing trade war with China and do not want China to be seen as leading the world in aviation safety.
They have sent their PR men to publish articles on Foreign Policy and New York Times.
Now that the news on the crash has somewhat slowed down, expect Boeing to send "reputable" people and media to pin the crash on the pilots in Ethiopia and Indonesia.
For airlines, their worst nightmare is having their aircraft on the ground as it does not make money. However in this case, they will pass the billing hours to Boeing who will have to pay the airlines or cut deals with them. Or deal with lawsuits. As long as the narrative is on the MCAS fault, Boeing can't wriggle out of paying. But if it is on pilot error, Boeing can escape paying potentially billions of dollars.

So that is what they are trying to do.

Lawyers send their errors to jail,
Doctors send their errors to the grave,
Pilots die with their errors.

The highest level of safety is in the Aerospace industry.
No excuse, the airline should face it. More than a centurion is lost because of someone's error!!!
they should sue eithopian airlines already. Using a pilot that wasnt trained for flying the new boeing 737 MAX.innocent lives gone down d drain.

Oga that wasn't the reason the united state grounded them

This issue have been on ground since last year

It is not safe to fly a plane you don't know when it will nose dive next grin

The angle of attack is deceptive and misleading

Boeing is trying to cover their ass

As a pilot you follow checklist whenever there is an emergency

But the the way to tackle such incident wasn't in the checklist? undecided

Boeing should apologise to the world

Africa will always carry the blame even when is obvious that the incident is similar to the previous one smh

But the lion jet also had similar crash....
Both pilots were unfamiliar with the newly installed auto-pilot MCAS.....
The automated system is meant to prevent stalling anytime the plane attempts to turn it's nose towards the sky.....
However, due to faulty sensors or wrong simulation, the MCAS could force the plane to nose dive even when the plane hasn't stalled.....
Now all the pilot need to do is to switch off the autopilot and take control of the plane....
Provided the pilot has been trained and knows the right switch to turn off....
There was evidence the lion jet's pilot struggled with plane b4 it crashed.....
The Ethiopian airline also seem to have crashed nose diving.....

In my opinion, everybody should take the blame....
Why should Boeing alter the engine position of a plane in a way it forces it to stall....
That was a reckless decision and a needless invention....
To what gain....so the plane could be faster....

The auto pilot installation to prevent stalling wasn't foolproof and boeing knew this......
Twice now it has failed with fatal consequences....
Pilots all over the world had been complaining about this automated system and his complexity yet Boeing never made much effort to train pilots on the MCAS....

Airlines in order to cut cost would not give adequate training to staffs.....
Plane manufacturers will also not emphasis on adequate training of pilots in order not to lose customers....
It's a mess up situation with fatal outcome.....

Bros, it doesn't really matter if a pilot logged 1million miles. New versions of old version of aircraft come out. The pilots are at least ought to have mastered ( trained ) the way the new version of plane works properly. when we say training it might be ground training on simulator. It could be that simple.

It was not because of china that US had to ground the Boeing 737 max but because of its senators who have been pressurising Trump these past weeks to ground it down. There was a comment that trump made last week which gave out the impression that the crash of the plane was no mechanical fault but a human error from the pilots. He only had to reluctantly give d order to ground d planes cos of d pressure he's been gettin frm d senators.

You can say that again.

I still feel Boeing should be held responsible. I read also that they didn't provide manual on how to use the MCAS.
