There is a girl a met and I had already been through nice guy phase but decided to test this one with the nice guy attitude.

I decided to do the opposite by caring. Sending love sms and calling. We chatted often. I send her stuff without her requesting, went as far as telling my brother and friend about her...

She took this for granted.

The result? I was called something I hadn't imagined lol. Like a needy desperate sissy.

When I saw it was getting too much, I knew it was time to pull out.

And I did for some months, no call, no text, chat...

She thought I was actually nice guy but nope... I was experimenting to see IF she would be an exception, if there was any girl out there who appreciates those nice gestures after all, she told me what her ex did to her like shiiit... After that period, I concluded there was none.

When she reached out to me, I knew what she wanted but ignored for some weeks. We settled and I made sure she never see those nice side on a gold platter ever again. Now the chat is minimal, the calls are almost zero, now I don't send or give except she ask.

The thing is that boring and being predictable is good. Boring and being predictable pays the bills, buys the clothes, pays the mortgage, pays for college. As any truthful lady will tell you, nice guys make the best husbands.

It's like jobs. Most people hate theirs. It's boring and too predictable from 9-5. Most people would rather win the lottery or go on a winning streak in Vegas and cash out; then go buy a villa in the Caribbean, party in Ibiza, and just live the good life in perpetuity. But jobs pay the bills 99% of the time. EOD.

Ladies have two choices--excitement or stability. When they aren't ready to settle down, they usually go for the first. When they're ready, they usually go for the latter. The best thing for guys is to be a portmanteau of both.

There's a reason why every lady out there from a young age dreams of being with a Prince Charming. He is a Prince, in a position of authority, not wanting for anything (has money), is courageous and skilled in arms, will ride into battle and courts the respect and adulation of his subjects. Yet that same person is Charming, meek, would tell her sweet nothings, offer her the moon, and rest his head on her thighs amongst other things. It's a bad guy and nice guy wrapped in one package.

But for most guys, it's a pendulum swing. Starting out, they act nice; because that's the default. After the first dozens of rejections and cheating incident, the pendulum swings to the other extreme--a la Yoruba demon. Some (read: most) go half way, be "bad guys" when out of relationship, then when a lady catches their fancy, they go back to their default; only to be jolted back to reality when things do not work out.

It's why when people say ladies don't know what they want. It's both true and false. True because they're not actively (logically) pursuing it. False because they're passively pursuing it. That's why they'd have Jake to be the emotional tampon. Nelson for the D. Matt for the money. And then Clive as the "boyf" because a bird in hand is worth two in the bush. If they can't have a Prince Charming in one package, they'd just cherrypick the desirable qualities from different guys.

So yes, ladies do prefer bad guys. But not for the reasons most people think. It's actually because bad guys are the closest they get to a Prince Charming. With a bad guy as a partner, they can use one or more of the other suitors who regularly 'disturb' them to fulfill their nice guy needs (aka friend zone). Everyone wins. Well until the bad guy does bad guy things like screwing their sisters or roommates or best friends or coworkers. Then all guys (rather than bad guys) are scum.

A few days or weeks pass, then they return to their vomit. Because well they can't help themselves, it's how they're wired.
