Exactly, she wants to blame us so bad instead of channeling it to the USA govt.all self pay patients get this discounts
Read to understand. Where did I blame you or other self pay patients? I never even appropriated blames, I just pointed out the going rates for childbirth that I know of and if I was to blame anybody, it will be the hospitals but sentiments and bias won’t allow you to understand my post. Smdh

Straightforward advise. No more discounts if you want to renew successfully. Even beyond that it is the right thing to do to help the US fight fraud.

If she likes she does this, there’s a clause attached to her visa that she must meet else there will be wahala. That’s the real matter here

She was instructed to seek a medical visa if for any reason she wants to birth in the US. That’s a settled matter as far as I’m concerned. It will be disastrous for her not to go back there via an interview to get a new visa for birthing purposes despite having a valid visa.

If she goes for the interview, her previously resolved 4k birthing bill might resurface, but I strongly believe she has passed that level she has passed it, but I’m still worried somehow....

I see. She has to go for a hospital without any single discount and appear for her interview.

They have this impression that we always take the easy way out and I think we should start proving them wrong.

Doing the right thing won't ever be easy as long as we walk this earth.

Hello beautiful people, so my mum went for her visa interview to accompany me for birth. She was given the white paper but asked that she provides additional documents pertaining to the budget and cost of medical treatment. Please what document must i add to ensure she's given. Are there people who have gone thru such and yet denied. Thanks

.

You point out going rate based on which research. You were quoting 19,000 to 30,000, meanwhile the average cost according to google is 6,000 for vd. Did you ask you hospital how much it will cost to pay out of pocket?.

Many were refused because they could not be trusted not to accept discount for the next trip. They could also not be trusted with a non-medical visa.

The VO officer trusted her with a non-medical visa and asked her to come back for a medical visa. He could have refused her altogether. She should repay that trust.

Good Day Everyone and happy weekend to you all. I have been following this thread for a while and have found it very useful. Thanks to everyone here who has kept the thread alive and active.

I intend to travel to the USA to have my second baby. So my story is this.... I initially applied for a vacation visa October last year via drop box. But I was asked to schedule a follow-up interview which will be in May this year. In between this long wait, I am now pregnant and would want to have my baby in the US(I had my 1st there too and paid all my bills). My questions:

1. I intend to declare to the VO my change of plans during my interview but what is my chance of getting a visa since the original purpose is now different from the reality on ground?

2. Does anyone here have a Dr's contact in New Jersey who I can contact to schedule an appointment? I have tried a few but they are not willing to issue any formal evidence of appointment which I can present at the embassy (in the event that they ask for it)

3. In my application, my destination is New Jersey, however, I already have a Dr. in Texas who is willing to birth the baby and also issue an evidence of appointment. Do I stand a chance at my interview since my original application is to go to New Jersey?

Your kind opinions will be highly appreciated....Gracias

Plans can always change giving the long months between you drop box application and interview....Any thing can happen with 4 months plus including pregnancy. Just be truthful and say it as it played out.Your destination can change too if your plans change.Youre no longer going for vacation but birthing so you can switch to Texas too.You don't exactly need an appointment from a dr.Just quotes from them on the cost will do and your budget sheet. But be careful not to present a quote from NewJersey which is some worth pricey and then you get your visa but end up using Texas with a more cheaper rate. This is currently some of the struggle so if you present a quote and your visa gets issued, use that medical facility or another within the same price bracket to avoid the wahala everyone has now

If Texas borned mama's are having issues with renewals, while chicago are successful renewing with both locations on paying hospitals bills of about 5k I think u should avoid texas and seek less prominent cities with affordable prices.

As long as you explain to the vo your change of plans, you are good to go.

My dear I am still on it o..No date yet..I recently initiated a feedback on my page and complained about not getting dates and my travel period being close, also asking if i could be moved to Abuja just incase Lagos is fully booked..Atleast when I checked yesterday I saw the feedback had been escalated unlike the other ones where they will just respond saying dates are the discretion of bla bla bla and cl9se it out so hopefully something comes out of this escalation
