Ask your school for enrollment extension, and once you get that send it to embassy via mail. So that they will know that you still have enough time to travel if they approve your visa(AM). Be fast with that ok. Because they always check the time before approving visa.
Which school are you heading to. When was your interview.

Your AM will come soon ok
BAYREUTH, they said they can't extend, very strict school. AM should drop on Monday but what's the essence with proof of funds?

Sobs

wow Part 6 already, the Lord is good. I arguably can declare this thread as the Most successful travel thread on Nairaland. I started following it Since 2013 then in Part2. Engaged fully in 2017 got admissions then, but it was not the right time MONey been no they.
Pushed again in 2018 same schools same admissions, i had to cancel my appointment 1 week to june 6 2017 cos money been no still dey. but the Spirit said dont give up so soon. same day again i booked another appointment and got August 16. did interview without the money still. I kept praying for AM without funding (as it was a rare case of which some people have encountered, I prayed for same grace... cos i knew that an AM in my mail box will change the story for the better) the AM showed after 3 weeks and 5 days but where was the money? my blood began to rush within me, ideas began to flow, my faith began to grow, 3 weeks After the AM i funded smiley smiley wink God did it (dont ask how cos the story long but it all happened within 3 weeks) exactly one month Later i submitted the notification, 2 weeks after I landed in Germany.

It wasnt an easy ride, Nothing was ever right ( for those who will advice you to wait until you have everything ready ) you need to just start.

Right now i live in A city where all previous naija occupants i met on Naraland said it was a dry Land, but in this same city the Euro is rolling smiley

More reason I wanna do that course. i want to do a course which is highly needed in Germany. But I read from their website that they only admit 30 students in a year. 18 students in winter and 12 students in summer

Yes, that's more reason one needs to give his/her best, who knows events may play around to one's favour.

Apart from the passport thing, thier application is straight forward. You fit check Potsdam; Visualization and Geoinformatics. The Uni-assist fee has been paid for. Another program is Cartography TUM, this one offers the opportunity to study in 4 various countries for the different semester, (USA) is inclusive(imagine the travel history, one is to get) . The Eramus scholarship to the program just ended 15th March. Honestly, would have applied but the application program would drain resources :coz your referees need to send their reference letters to them by postal mail, you need evaluation by Uni-assist and the application documents to the program needs to be sent to them by postal mail too.

I just want to add that at TUM one can enroll without being in Germany. I’m yet to apply for student visa but I did my enrollment after paying the required semester fee. During application, I sent documents for admission and enrollment at the same time. After admission (was admitted without interview) I was only required to pay semester fee to complete my enrollment.
vinlyreeks:

I assume your appointment is for visa interview and based on my assumption

1. School registration?.. You ain't paying be4 interview unless in some cases where you ve to pay full or part of you school fees for tuition-ed Universities.. Your enrollment is when you get to Germany tho someone said sometime here that he did in proxy

2. Booking for accommodations no concern the interview or embassy tho sometimes the v.o might just ask you 'what preparations have you made for a hitch-Free beginning in DE' it rarely comes tho.. So it's not mandatory you pay for any accommodation be4 going for interview

An idea came to my mind now and I want to know if its feasible in Germany

I applied to many Msc programs but my most desirable program is not tuition free.
The program is Geomatics at Karlsruhe University of Applied science and they charge 1500 euro per semester which is approximately 3000 euro every year.

Now, I don't have that money but I have a plan which I wanna find out from those in deutschland if its feasible.

I plan to get enrolled in other university that is tuition free and after one year, I will save enough money during summer holidays and also use that opportunity to learn deutsch upto B2 level and now reapply for my dream course Geomatics in Karlsruhe .

Is that possible?

Can someone drop more information about switching courses?

Nice one, congratulations.

please it will really be nice if you tell us how you were able to get money to fund your block account.
Inasmuch as God intervened but we all know God help people through people.

Were you able to borrow from relatives, banks or how?
I ask because many of us are in this predicament of not being sure where the block account money will come from

Most schools in Germany let you study abroad in 4/5th semester....

Fabcol:
Get your transcript from your school(would advise you get the official one)
Make photocopies of the transcript and certify the photocopies( the certification can be done at the high court, notary public or the German embassy)
N/b- the amount of schools you are applying to will determine the amount of copies you are to certify but if all your schools are thru uniassist then u need send only one certified copy.

Hi bro,

I was at my school last year to apply for my transcript to be sent to a school in Canada. I was also able to get a copy scanned to my email (i want to refer to this as unofficial copy).

So i am wondering, is it possible to apply to German schools with this unofficial copy as it will cost me almost 100k to send the official transcript to each school.

Alternatively, i am considering paying for the WES evaluation package that provides transcript storage and sending, so that my next request to my school to process my transcript will be a final one as they will send it to WES who will evaluate the transcript and send to any school i request them to.

What do u guys think of this approach?

@bolded, get a company where you know someone, and make your school send your transcript to the company and let the person pick it up for you. Make photocopies and certify the copies. You can Use then for your application. Instead of sending transcript to each school

Deustchemann:

First thing is to know whether your school is using Uni-assist or not. Then, you can obtain your transcript from your department/school. Make photocopies according to the number of schools you're applying to. Take these copies to court for certification (this depends on the school).
As regarding Uni-assist, you can scan and upload original copies of your documents on their site. After which you have to send the certified copies via courier to them.

If your school is not using Uni-assist, then they'll either use online or offline or combination of both for application.
If it's online only, there's no need to certify. Just scan and upload your documents to their site.
If it's offline only, you only need to send your documents to them via courier (some can ask for ordinary photocopies, some ask for certified copies)
If it's combination, you'll upload online, and then send to them via courier.

To the best of my knowledge, These are the various modes of applications I've seen so far.

Hope you're clear? If you still have any questions, feel free to ask.

Hi bro,

This was very expository.

I was on daad.de and mastersportal (targeting schools in Germanh) and i bookmarked a lot of school websites for perusal later today.

How do i know if a school requires one to apply through Uni-assist or not?

is it usually clearly outlined in their requirements/application process page? so that i will watch out for it.

Thanks brov

Thanks Dolpaz for this well researched contribution.
Just a little addition pls.

A white lady who happened to be a friend and mother visited me and was advising me about the misconceptions white girls(including germans) have about black guys.
According to her, most German girls are of the opinion that blacks are "good in bed". They may not have long term plan for you but only want to sleep with you.

Be careful when you come here that nobody ruin your life and future.

How will they ruin your life and future by mere sleeping with you? Maybe you mean ruining your life with STD.
Because if actually she sleeps with you and at the end didn't end up with you, it's not a big deal.
Even in Nigeria, everyone doesn't end up in marriage with who they sleep with.

Thanks for your swift response here. i am amazed at the level of relevant assistance one is getting from here.

If i got you correctly, you are implying that i can apply with the unofficial copy (i already have a copy in my mail). I simply have to print it out, make photocopies and certify. Then use the certified copies in sending applications to schools, if they use offline application method, or send a scanned certified copy if the accept online application.
