DLI = Designated learning institution. Every school in Canada is a DLI.

However, in our own case as foreigners, DLI simply means universities/colleges in Canada approved to accept international students.

This is actually not a problem. It happens occasionally.

Send the E-MEDICAL SLIP the second time to Kenya (Nairobi) Immigration department via this email: nrobi-immigration@international.gc.ca

The subject of the mail should bear URGENT, along side her FULL NAME, UCI NUMBER, APPLICATION NUMBER AND DATE OF BIRTH.

Also take advantage of THE NAIROBI WEBFORM

You should state in the mail that the applicant has already completed her medicals and attached is her E-medical slip. You would request that her medical result be appended with her application and updated on her MyCIC account within the shortest possible timeframe. Lastly, thank them for the success so far in the applicants application.

Hi good morning, I just wanted to appreciate you for this, it really helped. My TRV has been approved!!!! The most alarming part is I didn’t write an SOP, so I panicked when people kept talking about theirs. God is Awesome.

I'm glad to hear it worked for you. Congratulations on your TRV approval. It is important to note that applicants who include SOP with their application do so because they have some clarifications to provide to the visa officer pertaining their personal circumstances. E.g Applicants that have previously applied for visa and was denied, would definitely need to include an SOP/LOE to explain that their current situation has substantively changed and the reason why a study visa should be granted to them. However, in the case that you don't have any explanation to present and you feel your application is upright, You can submit your application without including an SOP/LOE.

Are you sure about that

IELTS is not a prerequisite for admission into Canada's DLI especially for Nigerian Applicants whose language instructions/lectures during their undergraduate studies were carried out in English language.

Hello house,
My international passport will expire in October, hope I can still use it to apply for study permit and submit the renewed one later.

Or do I need to renew it first?

Applicant will have to demonstrate what he has been doing since after his NYSC till date. Volunteering at the moment while making plans for his studies abroad (it's justifiable). Having said that, he must provide adequate evidence that he inherited the funds in his account from his late family member. This proof can be documented with the aid of a family lawyer by presenting the deceased written and signed will before he/she departed from this life.
Thanks for your volunteering guideline on this topic. How many number of words is compulsory for a suitable sop?Do you have any advise or guidelines in writing a convincing sop?

TRV processing time update 25/03/2019

Congratulations to all those who got their approvals today!

We now have a sample of 14 hopefuls. Please if you have applied for a TRV, I would encourage you to share your timeline (which should include; the application date, application route, biometrics request date, date biometrics was done, medical request date, date medicals was done, date medicals was passed, and the current status). If you don't have all this information, you can just share the ones that you have and update the rest as you receive it.

This information would help us study or attempt to establish a pattern to how CIC operates.

We have made attempts to "calculate" processing times. (Please note that this is just an average based on the little sample we have. Your processing time may be faster or slower than the average). As we get more samples, I want to believe our calculations would be more "accurate".

Finally, If there is anything you think i should add to the data or calculate from the data, please share with me.

Good morning house, please i need advise from the house my application was declined.

After careful review of your study permit application and supporting documentation, I have determined that your application does not meet the requirements of the IRPA and IRPR. I am refusing your application on the following grounds:

1. I am not satisfied that you will leave Canada at the end of your stay, as stipulated in subsection 216(1) of the IRPR, based on your personal assets and financial status.

2. Pursuant to paragraph 220(a) of the IRPA, I am not satisfied that you have sufficient and available financial resources, without working in Canada, to pay the tuition fees for the course or program of studies that you intend to pursue.

3. Pursuant to paragraph 220(c) of the IRPA, I am not satisfied that you have sufficient and available financial resources, without working in Canada, to pay the cost of transporting yourself and any family members who are accompanying you to and from Canada.

Thank you all

Note:
I will really appreciate all your contribution because I want to reapply

For the period I have been on this platform, I have seen people with no SOP, people with a page SOP and people with 7 pages SOP/LOE get approved and rejected. I am not sure anyone is clear on how this SOP/LOE works.

I have posted something in the past about this. I suspect this guys based their decision on applicants profile and even if Wole Soyinka writes SOP/LOE for you, it might not still work.

Oh I’m sorry. I was requested to submit my passport on the 22nd of March, same day the biometrics was validated. Yes I submitted it twice, a day after I did the medicals and when it was requested. I then sent an email to the visa office in Nairobi before the issue was finally resolved.

It was submitted again on the 8th of March. Seeing that nothing had changed, I then wrote to the visa office in Nairobi on the 12th of March. I was told that I’ll get a feedback from them in 5 working days. On the 5th working day, I passed the medicals.
