TRV processing time update 29/03/2019

Hey Nairaland Family,

We now have a sample of 22 hopefuls!

Please I would encourage those that have applied this year to share their timeline (whether you're a new or re-applicant, Application Route, School Resumption Date, Application Date, Biometrics Request Date, Biometrics Done Date, Medical Request, Medicals Done, Medicals Passed, PPR or the Current Status of your application). If you don't have all this information, you can just share the ones that you have and update the rest as you receive it.

This information would help us study or attempt to establish a pattern to how CIC operates. (Please note that the calculated estimates are just averages based on the little sample we have. Your processing time may be faster or slower than the average)

For those that have already submitted their timeline, kindly share if you are a new applicant or a re-applicant. Also, please share when you are expected to resume school. This would help us understand if there is a relationship between processing time and resumption date. (Cc Dedecoder, Godatwork23, Oni2019, Damlovey, Yacha77, docsaj, TheAfrikan, 2roodi, Oluwaseunbd, Bodineros, Klem28, AA07, Trishaben, Omarzx, ify85, Samolala2019, umulobi, Mykaelolalekan, Oyalfares)

Finally, If there is anything you think i should add to the data or calculate from the data or present the data so that it is more understandable, please share with me.

Schonebaby:
Good morning my people...

LONG POST ALERT!!
I have gone through a lot of posts on this thread, and I think I have gained insight about the study permit application to a degree.
I have learnt that we are unique individuals from various backgrounds, experiences and financial circumstances. Comparably, we have stories in varying shades that our life experiences so far, are telling.
My overall advice for each one of us is to look inward , reflect and choose the best strategy that will work for you. #use your church mind.
There will always be different kinds of advice e.g. apply alone, write 5 page SOP, -no! Write only 2 pages, do not apply with your children. No! Apply with them (at least the VOs should know you are a nursing mother). Apply for your family when you get to Canda, No! You can do it immediately you get your TRV.

When people come here to tell you what they did, they don't tell you their background and circumstances, so you really cannot have a clear picture of why it should work for them

Some people are very well travelled. Some people are currently abroad, and applied from their with their families. The travel history they have gained might be the critical factor tipping the scale in their favour.
Another example is someone in seriously good financial standing might apply for a PGD with his family , and get the visa before a Master's student applying alone.

A single individual, funded and applying without hometies might get that visa if (s)he has a lot of distinguished work done in the home country with several medals and awards.

Some people e.g. myself, write extremely explanatory SOPs simply because we have waded through a lot to get to where we are now and these experiences and relevant career achievements are worth telling.

Most Visa officers are psychologists. They consider the whole picture. So please, after considering the plethora of advice, use your God given mind to analyse your unique situation before you apply.

May God give fruit to all our efforts.

Hmmm you are very right!

Good day pls. Been a silent reader.
Just need some clarification .

i finished my NYSC 2014 after which i started a teaching job since. Stopped to proceed for my masters degree in 2016 which ended 2018.
The problem now is that i dont know if i should include in my application that i have msc cos i intend going for a graduate diploma degree which i think doesnt make sense after msc. So i need idea as to how to cover up for the years of been out of job without mentioning my msc.

Note: i have my own business ever since But have not registered it, if i register it now, can this be used as been self employed without asking for a business account cos have been using my personal account for my business.
Pls i am confused, somebody help me

Not correct in the case of canada, you can apply outside your home country if you have a legal stay where you are. e.g A Nigerian visiting UK can apply from UK for a canadian visa. when you check CIC they will tell you its possible, but best you apply from your home country. but i have heard nigerians applying outside nigeria.

If u have a legal resident permit in Sweden, den u can apply for visa from there but if not, u need to apply from your country of origin /legal birth place to apply

Those two kids dont need visa, the american born can apply within canada before 6months. its best you state it in your documents that they will accompany you, so as not to affect you at point of entry or your hubby can later bring them upon your arrival. the choice is yours

Hi sir. Please in my situation i have two kids one 15 months with an American passport and the other one two months a Canadian. Should I say I’m going with them or nah?

Furthermore, if you show proof that you are married, it’s a BIG plus for you showing you have solid hometie but if you decide not to show proof but you have other things to show as hometie then hometie aspect is secured.

But I want you to know that when you are in your 30s and you ain’t married most especially in your mid 30s upward, some of the VO think applicants are not geniue and just looking for a away to migrate to Canada and marry their Old granny’s looking for second love or as the case or thought maybe.

Please i sent you an email, I will appreciate if we change messages and put us through regarding my wife SOP with the kids.

Thanks, gig3939@gmail.com

neverlosehope:
This thinking is incorrect.

I am presently in Canada studying with my family. We applied together and our visas were approved together. Also, I have many of my colleagues who applied together with their family and their visa were approved.

A family of mine started his program in UBC this January. He applied for his study visa along with his family at the same time and all the visas were approved. He came in for Masters degree and not PhD.

Thanks

Applied Feb 15, classes begins May 13.
Well-done ma.
