I Love you Mr President. `haters we`ll soon comprehend you sir. God bless Nigeria.
Make I ask you a question, do you know Mobil at all? Can Buhari employ all the staff when laid off? What of service providers to Mobil what of the revenue and taxes government realise from Mobil? You're so funny. By the time Buhari borrows and borrows only leaving your children unborn to service and pay the loan, you'd understand better. No investment in science and technology , no scientific research, healthcare is in sham , likewise education. You go soon wise. God has blessed Nigeria already.

You are all daft.

Oil is at its end.

Alternative energy and shale oil makes this whole enterprise less rewarding.

The rainy days we spoke about yet you wouldn't listen.
There are more than 40 components that can be refined from crude oil and more are undiscovered. Even if we stop using petrol and diesel fo vehicles, there are lots of other uses that'll make crude valuable for years to come.
And don't say people are daft while obviously, you're also ignorant

But they are increasing their investments in Qatar . Is GSKs exit also about shale ? is Nestle leaving because of shale and renewable energy ? Accept Buhari has failed and now apart from being an economic failure he is also known as a shameless electoral thief who has been conducting election for not than 2 months all in a bid to rig and steal the vote of the people . Even Jonathan we called clueless delivered a far better electoral experience

SalamRushdie, Nestle is not leaving.

GSK is doing less in Africa (Kenya , South Africa and Nigeria) as it seeks to refocus her strategy.

If you have evidence of their leaving, provide it.

If you were intelligent you would realise despite the millions of things you could potentially derive from a product, when 2 major derivative are Shut down the demand falls and therefore the price.

Once price falls, investment falls.

You are not a kid.

Hmm does Exxon have onshore assets? Not much I think ( if they do)

Except they are discarding their processing and custody transfer assets.

Most of Exxon's assets are shallow water and onshore..

Deep Offshore is the future...

Expect more FPSOs soon...

Besides I have my suspicions...

Exxon want to be ready to enter the Refining Business before Dangote grabs too much of a foot hold..

and they are going to need a bucket load of cash for it...

We need more of these to convince BMC that APC and Buhari is a total failure

I only wish you guys dig news deeper than the surface. I knew this will happen. and I am glad it did. This is one of the IOCs destroying the oil and gas industry in Nigeria. And they are not comfortable that Buhari will insist on them paying what is due from them. They have been cutting corners since the came into the country... and of course, successive governments have benefitted from the largesse they share.

Immediately I realized the Western countries were backing Atiku, I prayed hard that he will lose, and I told my friends, that if Atiku loses, some of the IOCs will declare their interest to leave the country, and sell their onshore and offshore asset. This is the beginning of the fulfillment of my prophecy.

As they leave, new investors that will follow the right procedures and do business legitimately with the interest of Nigeria covered will come in...

If that is the only cleanup Buhari with is dull government will achieve before we get some younger vibrant leadership in 2023, it will be a very good thing for Nigeria!

Are you postulating or you are saying facts? As someone that's from Exxon community and has worked in their facilities onshore and offshore, I put it to you, that most, if not all of Exxon's production activity in Nigeria is offshore. Shallow and deep waters.

Except they are selling production rights to assets that have not been developed onshore

Not sure what the hysteria is about. One one hand, yes ExxonMobil might be planning to leave, which is indicative of its loss of confidence in our economy.

However, there a several things to mind:

1. it plans to sell its assets, meaning others are willing to buy those assets. In other words, the sum total of business and employment may not change much, just ownership. Ideally these will be Nigerian owned, which I can only welcome.

2. there is a HUGE refinery coming online (i.e. Dangote) which will seriously hamper their profits. Better for them to redeploy their business to other places where they have competitive advantage.

3. businesses enter and exit countries for their own interests, and are the true beneficiaries from the economy, so I don't mourn their loss, especially since the majority of profit is exported back to their home country

Then it's safe to say they are selling their aging brownfield offshore shallow water assets.

According to Reuters, quoting industry and banking sources, the company has held talks on the sale of a suite of oil and gas fields in Nigeria as the company focuses on new developments in U.S. shale and Guyana.

Whether Buhari or Jonathan or whoever was presently in power....Exxon would be doing the same. Why do we not focus on the why they are leaving... as simply stated here?... to focus on US shale... and Guyana. We know about shale... but what about Guyana and oil?...Guyana is not an oil producing country...but Guyana is Venezuela's neighbour... and Venezuela is a big oil player. Exxon Mobil has discovered hugeeee oil deposits in Guyana... more than Venezuela... not only that.... the quality of oil is extremely high... not the crude produced by Venezuela... it is of the highest grade period. From this...we should understand why Exxon is eager to reduce or divest its operations in Nigeria. They have struck gold.... El Dorado all over again in Guyana.
The conflict in Venezuela... is directly related to the oil find and the soon extraction of oil in Guyana. What is more interesting...is that Guyana and Venezuela have a long standing border dispute.... whereby Venezuela laid claim to two thirds of Guyana's territory. That has been dormant for yearssss.... guess what now?...now that oil is found in the region claimed by Venezuela? Just follow US and Venezuela.... if US invades... just know it has nothing to do with whatever reason will be given... it has to do with oil.
Bottom line...Exxon Mobil is no longer interested in Nigeria's oil.
