The average person saddled with responsibility in Nigeria is usually the least qualified for the position

From the dreaded Yakuza in Japan, Triad in China, Cosa Nostra in Italy, Crips and Blood of Los Angeles, Mexican MS-13 and other notable criminal organizations in the world, tattoos feature prominently in their identification.

Police works involve profiling criminals. They are not magicians. The word is out that the police is out for those with tattoos and dreads. You can be smart and dress responsibly or listen to wailers online and end up 6ft under. You may not be a criminal but you have chosen to dress and appear as one. Like they say, impression matters. The only thing we can do for you then is tweet #EndSARS for about three days and life goes on. The choice is yours.

Madam siddon jor what there police are doing is not good is wrong but that does not mean you people should hide under the guise a fighting police and be promoting what is not or something that is alien to our culture. No responsible human being put on a tattoo we saw birdman earlier in the day today saying he regretted having tattoo on his face

Nigerian Police are the most useless bunch of illiterate that i have ever seen in the world. Professionalism is Zero, Spoken English -Zero, but Bribery and intimidation of innocent citizens -100%. VERY VERY VERY useless bunch of individuals put together by senseless and under-qualified fools.

Ban Nigerian Police and let us police ourselves. These fools in uniform are the worst thing that has happened to this country. I would rather run to OPC than run to Nigerian freaking police. The least police man should be at least a university graduate. #bannigerianpoliceforce #bansars

Obviously, one of the many fine requirements for taking a leadership position in institutions like the police is, connections and a very low IQ with low exposure to match.
And who told you that certain cultures didn't have tattoos? Tribal marks by the way, has same concept as a tattoo, although the outcomes and methods may differ.

She is absolutely right! Who told the block-head that dreads are alien to our culture? Was Sango not on dreads? Even my grandma had tattoos on before she died so, that nonsense about connecting cultism with dreads and tatoos should stop. Such an illiterate! See his nose! Mtcheew! angry

Sango was not on dreadlocks.... His wives make his hair.....the hair style is called kolese in Yoruba.....

You are right....as a matter of fact, Nigerian police are far from an illiterate... They are morons in uniform

The police are not looking for elderly people. They know who they are profiling. A contemporary Nigerian youth has no good explanation for marking his/her body with tattoos. More often than not, the bearer is a criminal.

I stand with NPF on this one.

I will continue to bash Nigerian Police till they do better. Whoever is in-charge need to do better and starts showing the erring police men the way out till they learn. I could have been killed and label an armed robber with bunch of evidence planted and presented on tv. These guys held me because they were trying to collect the dollars they found on me. I have never been scared for my life like that before.

Since that experience i'm so scared of coming to my own country because of some stupid fools that are suppose to protect lives and properties behaving badly. BLEEP Nigerian Police!!!

What dirty morals? You when dey engage in pre Marital sex, was that ever part of the African way of behavior?

She's right to juxtapose suits and dreadlocks because suits were never our way of live. We tie fvcking wrappers in Africa dude.

Better get out of the hole you currently live in and don't profile people. Criminals don't go about in uniforms.

So tattoos and dreadlocks is loss of moral?

This is bemusing.

The white man indeed won the battle. He destroyed a people, not physically, but mentally. So that future generations would see heritage of their forbears as "loss of morals".

The NPF has told you what they are looking for. Once you understand that none of the people bitching online will stand with you when it comes down to it, then you do the needful. When the words were out that some people are stealing female pants, most went on the defensive to protect themselves. Forewarned is forearmed. Words are our now that NPF are looking for losers with tattoos and dreads, why can't people take precautionary measures not to become easy targets?

Moving on, I see the way Nigerian girls dress because they watch too much of American movies. If you dress like that walking down the street, you will definitely get cat calls from men, some will honk at you and the police may harass you for possible prostitution. Yep! And I live in California where it is supposed to be going down.

Just give the police nails and hammer to be nailing these folks to the cross.

Omotola Jalade has slammed Lagos Police Spokesperson, Bala Elkana who in an interview with BBC Pidgin claimed tattoo and dreadlock is new to Nigerian culture and also why the police arrest youths sporting it.

Recall we reported that Bala Elkana who alleged that police authorities have noted a connection between cultism and people that sport dreadlocks and draw tattoos on their bodies, condemned the killing of Kolade Johnson whose death has led to viral social media campaigns. The Lagos Police spokesperson who alleged that tattoo and dreadlock is strange to our culture, further disclosed that most of the cultists that have been arrested wear dreadlocks or have tattoos on them.

However Omotola Jalade who slammed the Lagos Police Spokesperson over the claims made, stated that he needs mental evaluation, retrained and re-educated. She wrote;
