Hello house, i have been following the migration threads consistently for a while now but had to open a new account to ask all my questions, cos my case seems complicated.
My spouse works in a multinational company and due to the nature of his job, travels around the world a lot, he wouldn't want to apply for canadian pr/ migration cos he is okay with his job at least for now.
We decided I should relocate with the kids and start a professional life in Canada and expose then to a better living condition, I am a Bsc holder with a couple of work experiences, no IELTS score yet and I am 30 years old. What is the best migration option for me considering hubby cannot apply for pr and would only come visiting if we eventually relocate whenever he is on leave.
Please experienced advice needed.
Thank you

I don’t know about that but WES might just evaluate your ACCA Membership / Affiliate status favourably. Try it and see how it goes.

First, timeline for spouse sponsorship is anything upward of 12 months. I'm sure you wouldn't want to go through that long wait.

If you want to include your boo to your CRS, get married immediately after submitting your application and inform CIC of the change in your family composition.
@463 even if you get deducted 5 points after ypur birthday, you're still in a very good position to get ITA almost immediately.

The decision is yours to make.

I appreciate the response, Kingspaco.

So you suggest I apply immediately and later inform the CIC? or Are you suggesting I wait till she writes ielts and do the WES?

Your case isn't complicated in any way. What you'll need to do is to check your eligibility through this link by filling your details. Remember to select your spouse as non accompanying.

However, your Bsc alone will not give you enough point considering your age as well, so you'll most like need to do other things to gain more points. E.g Studying French and taking French exams, doing a Pgd or a Masters program, BCS (IT) certificate program can add points as well.

My point is that if you really want to include her in your application, you need to get married even if it's just court marriage you do, that will be enough and I hope you have enough evidence to prove to CIC that it is not an arranged marriage. Evidence such as messages you exchanged , WhatsApp chats, call logs, pictures you've taken together during one of your outings, etc.

If you are sure you can prove it's not an arranged marriage, then my advice will be for you to process the application as a single person first, after your submission with AOR, you can do a court wedding and inform CIC.

Doing this will not need her to write IELTS and probably WES as well. Although WES would be needed if she wants to study in Canada.

Hello Nairalanders, i am in a bit of a bind. I am trying to get a PCC from Mauritius as i lived there for 7 months but i am currently in Nigeria.
I sent a mail to them and they replied stating that they only give out Certificate of Character and not PCC. I was told to send my passport, residence permit and birth certificate to process the CoC. I scanned all three and sent to a friend’s (Mauritius resident) email who printed them and took them to their divisional headquarters. The people there told him to inform me that they need to see the original physical documents and not copies so i must send them via courier services.
Furthermore, there is no high commission for Mauritius in Nigeria to help make things easier.
My issues are:
1. I cannot trust too many hands with my passport
2. I do not know how long my passport is going to be with them and they don’t know either because i spoke with them on phone and pleaded with them to see reason. Also, I occasionally have impromptu reasons to travel so my passport cannot be too far away from me.
Only person I have seen here that lived in Mauritius and applied for Canadian PR is @Dotcman but i cannot get across to him/her and i’ve tried sending emails.
Please what else can i do?
Thanks.

Good day,
For those of us using NYSC, do we add National Youth Service Corps to our job title when filling work history? Or we just fill our job title in work history and then add NYSC in personal history?

No need. Just select "Employment" and type your job title.

Morning guyz. Please I have a question.
I have been reading about being able to use ACCA (F1 - F9, diploma) for two or more alongside your Degree.

I am currently a professional student of ACCA (got exempted for F1 - F9) because I already have ICAN.
So please, can I still use ACCA as two or more?
Thank you all!
yes ,

congratulations in advance

I will recommend CBT for a change, with prayers, you will surely ace it. In CBT, the computer will do the counting for you, the few minutes you used to use for counting can be used for proof-reading. Proof-reading alone in some cases makes the difference between a 6/6.5 and 7/7.5 in writing. If you want to practice for CBT, do as much practice tests as possible in a similar environment (with a computer timing you and counting the words). I aced it after 5 times of trying and I used Liz and writeandimprove.com basically for the last time with CBT. writeandimprove.com will grade you and allow you to track the band your writing is currently in and the progress made.

Please don't give up, it will definitely end in praise.

I have been using write and improve but I'm still on 6. Please what was your score before you took the test.

ACCA affiliate or membership will be evaluated as 4years bachelors degree (as per my evaluation report) while F1-F9 (Advance Diploma) is evaluated as 3years Bachelors degree (as seen on Canadavisa forum).

Fortunately for me I wrote ICAN and ACCA concurrently and got six papers exemptions (F1-F6) as I cleared some papers before deciding to start sitting for both exams concurrently.

Should you write ACCA professional papers after being exempted from F1-F9, you should get a favourable evaluation as you weren't exempted from all the 13-14papers but 9.

Logically if you were exempted from all the 9papers, you may be not get a favourable evaluation for the Advance Diploma. On a flip side, that is if you are a risk taker like me (high risk, high reward) and willing to try your luck evaluating the Advance Diploma that is if you were issued after claiming exemption with ICAN. WES may decide to request for the certificate and transcripts used in getting the exemptions which in this case is ICAN. Using comparative analysis of the cost implication and time, waiting to write 4 professional level paper should you pass at first sitting may take 4 diets (1 - 2years) and the cost may be well over 500GBP. I will suggest (not compel) you risk evaluation with WES if you have the Advance diploma. Nothing ventured, nothing gained

Long time silent follower of this thread and Living in Canada thread but my first contribution grin

I had to come out of my hidding place to provide feedback based on my personal experience even though someone already stated you will not get a favourable evaluation after sitting for the professional level because of the exemption which is not totally valid.

O ma ja so pe Las las ni grin

PS: This response is based on the assumption that you are evaluating ACCA with another qualification to count as two or more certificates.

Someone once mentioned on Canadavisa forum that his ACCA Oxford Brooked University (OBU) certificate was evaluated as 3years Bachelor and ACCA membership/affiliate evaluated as 4years which counted as 2 or more. Apologies, I couldn't dig up the thread/link.

Cheers.

Thank you very much. This is reassuring. I really appreciate, and I am glad this post will be useful to other people too.

I have already ventured into ACCA, I have two professional papers to go. So, I will evaluate it after I have passed In Sha Allah. So, there is no need to evaluate the exempted advance diploma.
Yes, I have a degree to be evaluated alongside the ACCA.
Once again, thank you to everyone that contributed.

I appreciate your response, my score wasn't so impressive from the estimated calculations I did, when you say "remember to select your spouse as unaccompanying" can you kindly clarify the disadvantages of that, cos i wouldn't want to complicate things on the long run, remember my spouse would come around whenever he is on vacation say cumulatively 5months in a year.
Then regarding the additional certification, is it advisable starting here in Nigeria or applying to study over there, cos applying for another degree in Nigeria would further increase my age and decrease my cumulative score.
My apologies if my questions are tiring.
Thank you for your response.

Goodmorning guys.

Hope we are all fine?

QUICK ONE.

My CRS score currently stands at 463, I'm 30 and I turn 31 by June which means the score may reduce if i dont enter the pool to make the draw slated for April 17 now and wait till my next birthday. I have a fiance and I want to use my CRS for the both of us.

Whats the House's advice?

1. Do i enter the pool (at my current age which gives me the 463 score) and get the PR for single person, then begin processing for her because by the time she writes the IELts and do the WES, I may get to my next birthday which may reduce the CRS score both both of us.

OR

2. Do I wait it out while she writes her IELTS and gets the WES so we run it together as a couple, which means the CRS score will reduce due to an age increase?

Between options 1 and 2, what do you advice??

Thirdly, if I chose option 1, and after getting the PR for single applicant, how soon can me ad my fiance process hers and how long do you reckon it will take?

Truth is I dont want to go to Canada without my boo, that's why we are in this fix. So we thought to ask the house.

PLEASE can I also add that I did my WES in 2018 and I wasnt asked about anything concerning WAEC. I hope there is no problem oh?

We welcome every input. Thanks.

Hello, I think you should apply immediately. She doesn't have to write ielts and all that. Don't wait any longer, enter the pool immediately and start gathering your documents. When you get ITA, submit as a single person. Then start preparing for your marriage. Get married and inform CIC, they can then add her to your application. All the best

7/7.5/8 before I took the test and I got 7 in the test. Use a teacher's approach (Liz or Jay or Chris Pell or others - stick to one), work on using high band vocabularies (they are tagged C1 or C2 if you use Cambridge dictionary - dictionary.cambridge.org), work on grammar (use range of structures -complex, conditional, passive, active, etc), and then practice with writeandimprove.com, correct any sentence the site highlights, you should see improvement over time.
