Please I want only honest and reasonable opinions, please if you dont have nothing reasonable to say just skip this thread. I don't want insults please.

Here is how my story started. It is a very short story but very confusing to me. I lost my uncle just two months ago, he was my best friend and we grew up together. I was so touched by his death that I decided to post a picture of me and him together on Facebook, I tagged some of our family members including one of another uncle whom I respect so much. Comments were coming in especially from my friends and family and from their friends also. few weeks after the burial of my uncle and my friend, almost when i have forgotten about his death I saw one comment from one pretty girl. I have never met this girl before and I have never seen her all my life. She was so pretty that I had instant crush on her so I decided to send her a friend request. she accepted and I decided to run some games on her. I tried to open her up as a stranget But something strange happened

The girl in question was madly in love with me already, she started asking me out and I was so surprised. I asked her to be my friend and she she said she was already my friend before i met her that she only wants to be my lover. I was like, this girl are you sure you are real, how can a pretty girl like you be so in love with me despite the fact that you have never seen me before. When I said this she said something that SHOCKED me.

She told me that she has already known me for a very long time through my uncle whom I respect so much. She told me that she was my uncle's former girlfriend and I was the reason why she broke up with my uncle because she loved me right from the day that she saw my photo on my uncles phone. She told me all her encounter with my uncle and am the only person who she loves and she really wants to settle down with me. She told me that she has been trying to find a way to reach me but all proved abortive not until she saw my post on Facebook which I tagged my uncle. She told me that her only fears was her past coming between us. But without her past I wouldn't have met her.

Actually I'm planning to settle down next year and I don't actually have a girlfriend. So fellow nairalanders is it wise for me to date or marry my uncles former girlfriend. One thing I'm certain about is that I didn't love her because she was pretty but because she has all that I seek in a woman. She is my spec and she has all that I want in a woman.

She is not the girlfriend of my dead uncle, she is the girlfriend of my uncle who is still alive whom I respect so much. My uncle is now married

Would you be kind enough to define the term love in this context.. i'm not getting how u fall in love with someone u don't even know and secondly how would u even feel comfortable yanshing ur dead uncle's ex? u sound like a novice and u will soon learn about women the hard way if u don't listen o advice. She'll drain you emotionally, use you for her sexual satisfaction, show you off to your uncle (he'll get to know one way or another) to make him mad at you and then she'll drive you nuts to a point of regrets, depression and possibly suicide.

What is wrong with nairalanders.
They don't even get to read the story before commenting, that's why most of them are in failed relationships especially the guys.

The lady in question didn't date the dead uncle, she wasn't a girlfriend to the dead uncle.

You can go ahead and marry her sir, there's nothing wrong as long as you both understand and love each other , there are a lot of problems in this life already for one to be thinking whether or not to date his uncles former girlfriend, why didn't the uncle get married to her in the first place, some men can do anyhow.

if u really know wat it means to settle down forever with a woman ,somebody u barely know would be ur last option,those who date for like 2 or more years b4 thinking of settling down ar no fools

For me the fact that your uncle who you respect so much is cheating on his wife with another girl is bad on its own. Now to the issue at hand, if you love the girl in question, go ahead and date her; as for marriage, you need to do proper investigation to know if the family knows of his extra marital affairs and if not, for love sake go ahead and marry her.

right now I'm still dating her and have not revealed my plans for the future with her.
