This is not surprising as most of those coming from the Muslim dominated countries are coming to support their families who were affected in the last terrorist attack in CHC. Immigration has prioritised their application. But mind you most them are general visitor visa. Which means they can only stay for few months.
Yes, but I'm looking at it from our view of participating in the conference.

AU denied many of my colleagues visas for the last conference. I'm wondering if NZL can do same

thanks for your reply.. I think there is waiver for countries with English as official language or someone that obtained b.sc with English as learning language.
yes that’s correct, I have a Nigerian friend who had been offered Nursing without Ielts. But for M.sc, it may be different. But I can confirm from someone later.

I will advise you check with the school you’re applying to.

Example of this is the requirement for Otago University. Input your country and the requirements comes up.

All visa applicant must meet the requirements for the category they’re applying for, and also be able to demonstrate that they are genuine and bona fide visitor or tourist before a visa can be granted.

Paying for a conference doesn’t guarantee a visa. It’s all about meeting the standard and requirements before being considered bona fide.

It depends what you do and how much u earn as a social worker. You should be able to get more info about this online. You need to earn at least $25/hr or 52k annual.

When do you suggest I send in my application or we send in our applications that's not to far or too near?

Mind you Conference starts 9th September, 2019

Give at least 90days interval if all documents are ready..... it might come earlier but at least u will be on the safer side and not worried at the last minute. Remember u have to consider logistics as well

June 1st is my target. All documents ready and just waiting for funds to keep flowing into company account.

I'm the Managing Partner and the office is sponsoring me. Hence, company account would be used even though I'm the signatory

You're right on logistics. I was given Visa to AU on 31st August and left Nigeria on 1st September, and bought last minute Ticket for ₦913,000 instead of ₦650,000 as at 1st of August, in 2017

Visitor's Visa for families and relatives of the victims of Christchurch terrorist attack are being given priorities. Someone applied for Visa in March and was told clearly in the acknowledgement email that the application will be processed by June 17

Just like femi advised, it is better to give that allowance.

Hello femijck, pls kindly help with affordable schools in NZ, my wife is a graduate of micro Biology with third class, she wouldn't mind going for another degree or a diploma course. And I will like to travel with her as a dependant with our son. Thanks for your quick response.

Hi femi, thanks alot i appreciate, but what exactly is wrong with INZ, seems they recently recruited some racist or what, i applied for work visa since first week of Nov 2018, only for INZ to get back to me April 2019 that the position has been taken, asking me "to reconfirm with my employer if the job is available".

Is there any serious employer that will leave a position open for 6 months? despite how my employer was begging them to hasten up the whole process that they needed me to resume on the 15th of December.

After 5 months? WOW

Guess it was due to the delay. They have rules that says you should apply for Visa within 90 days to the travel date

But such cant be done for a work visa nah, i got the job late oct 2018 and applied first week in Nov, employer wants me to resume mid Dec 2018, so no much time, my employer equally sent a mail INZ to hasten up the immigration process.

so nothing i could do, on my own part

I can relate to your frustration, but unfortunately there’s nothing anybody can do about the situation with INZ at the moment. You are not the only one going through this. It’s totally crazy, INZ is constantly under fire from many immigration lawyers and the masses.

https://www.radionz.co.nz/news/national/386918/new-zealand-visa-applications-ignored-for-months-as-immigration-struggles-with-targets

The delay with your application has got nothing to do with race or where u from, it’s simply due to the backlog and INZ struggling to meet up with the demand for the past 1yr+. My last work visa took just about 6 months even though I applied onshore.

Two things may have contributed to the delay with your application. One is the current workload and the other is due to the period of the year at which you applied.
From 1st week of December to early February, staffs take their annual leave and most INZ offices are left with skeletal staffs . they can only do whatever they can do. So because of the last Xmas holiday, u definitely would have been pushed forward atleast a month.

I will advise u check with your employer if the position is still open. If not, look around for other similar openings and if u can get another offer, then u can Update and explain your situation to INZ. Any employer recruiting from overseas knew u will need some time for immigration before offering u the job.

For INZ to ask u to check for the job availability,it means your application has been assessed initially but need to be sure the job is still available before issuing any visa.
