Sunday morning came and the service kicked off. Ademide was so happy when he saw Pastor David in Church. “Thank God he’s back” She said aloud mistakenly.
“Who?” Adeola who was sitting beside her asked whispering.
“Did I say that out loud?” she asked whispering back.
“Yes, ve…ry…loud. So who are you happy to see?”
“No one, my friend we are in church we shouldn’t be talking” she replied.
The service continued, Pastor David was given a warm welcome back by one of the Pastor who invited him over to the pulpit. He briefly discussed about the church that has just been planted in the UK and the work in progress. After this he started preaching.

At the vestry after service, Ademide ensured their path didn’t cross, infact some suggested they should all go and see Pastor David to welcome him for his return trip after they are through with their work which they did. But Ademide quietly excused herself and didn’t follow them.

Monday morning she awaits finally came, she was so happy to the extent that she dressed as someone who just got a job, no one we know that she was actually going, to drop her resignation letter.
She got to his office and greeted Sis Bunmi cheerfully who also returned the gesture.
“Sis Ademide, this one that you are happy, I take it that you’ve changed your mind!”
“No o, I came to drop the letter”
“Seriously!” Bunmi exclaimed.
“Seriously! Is he on seat?”
“Yes….he… is” She said slowly looking at her strangely. “You really hate this job, it’s so….. glaring. I’ll let him no you are here anyway” She said and rang the intercom.
“Ok sir” Was all Ademide heard.
“You can go in now” she said.
“Thank you…. She said and went into the office.
“Good morning sir”
“Good morning” he replied but didn’t raise his head. He only continued with the paperwork he was signing.
“I came to drop my resignation letter”
“I told you to drop it last week”
“I did but your secretary didn’t collect it from me. She told me to bring it when you are back” she explained.
“It’s no longer necessary since you didn’t drop it last week so go back to your office and get back to work”
“What! Why are you toying with me. Why did you ask me to submit it when you know you won’t collect it from me. And you are doing all this because you know my parent and brother will have my head if they know I quit on my own. Now that I have an excuse to give that you requested for my resignation letter, you turned it down again. What did I ever do to deserve this kind of a treatment from a man of God who should be helping people get out of their problem” she poured out.
“So this job is a problem for you?” she remained quiet. “If you want to quit, tell your parents. I’ll accept this letter when they consent to it, now get back to work” He fired at her.
“I won’t and at this point I care less about what my family we say, you can go to wherever with your job” she fired back. Pastor David was shocked.
“Ademide leave my office!”
“Of course I will but that will be after I’m through here”
“What else do you have to say, you already told me to go to hell!”
“I never said that!”
“What's the difference, go to wherever, or go to hell”
“Ok. I’m sorry I shouldn’t have said that to you”
“Its too late you already did”
“You are a Pastor and you can’t even forgive!”
“Just leave me be and get back to work!” She took another look at him and left.

Adetula’s Residence.
Everyone one came back from work. The ladies prepared dinner and the food was served. Daddy and Mummy Adetula settled down on the dinning. Adeola and Ademide also joined them. Deacon Adetula blessed the food and they heard a knock.
“…..In Jesus name”
“Amen” They chorused.
“I’ll get the door, Ademide said and stood up. She opened the door and it was her brother Adedayo.
“You didn’t tell us you were coming” Ademide said.
“You better step out of my way now before I do something, I will regret” Adedayo said fuming.
“Eh!” Ademide exclaimed still surprised at her brother’s attitude.
The others left the dinning when they heard his angered voice.
“What did your sister do to you? Take it easy nau” Mummy Adetula said.
“Good evening sir, good evening ma” He said and they replied him.
“What happened?” Deacon Adetula asked.
“She didn’t tell you, I’m sure of that”
“D1, what’s going on nau” Adeola asked.
“Ademide insulted Pastor David in his office today!”
“What!” they all screamed.
“Ademide!” her mum shouted.
“What Insolent!” Deacon Adetula said.
“Why are you quiet? Ademide start talking” Adedayo said.
“I don’t have anything to say to you, because all you people care about is for me to have a job, you don’t care if I’m happy with the job or not. So this is all your fault”
“Really!” Adedayo replied.
“And how dare he report me to you. After I apologized!”
“Jesus, is this Ademide talking?” Her Mum said.
“Mum, you won’t understand, infact I’m going there right now!” she said and went into the room.
“You dare not, even if you are age mate, at least respect his anointing” Adeola who followed her to the room confronted her. She didn’t say a word to her. She picked her purse and left the room while Adeola followed too.
“Where do you think you are going?” Deacon Adetula asked.
“To give him the piece of my mind!” she replied and left.
“Daddy, your daughter just walked out on us. And you do nothing and you too Dayo!” Mummy Adetula said looking from father to son.
“I think I now understand what’s going on” Dayo said.
“Me too” Adeola added.
“Same here” Deacon Adetula said. And Mummy Adetula felt loss.
“What is going on here, I mean in this room, what do you understand that I don’t” She demanded.

Ademide got to Pastor David's office fuming in anger. He knew he use to stay late in the office that particular day, cos he use to have meetings with some group.

“Ademide, what are you doing here” secretary stood up immediately she sighted her.

“Is he in the office?”

“Yes”

“Is he alone?”

“Yes”

“Good!” She said and turned to go into the Pastor’s office.

“Wait! You can’t just go in, let me inform him……” Before Bunmi could finish her statement, Ademide was already close to the door. Bunmi ran after her to stop her but it was too late.

“Good evening Mr Pastor!” She said as she stepped in.

“Ademide! What’s the meaning of this?”

“ So because you are a Pastor you think the world revolves around you?” She said, face to face with him.

“Pastor I’m sorry” Bunmi apologized as she rushed in.

“Don’t worry, I’ll take it from here. You can go and please close the door after you”

“Sir!” She doubted if she heard him right, he’s door is always open when he’s with females.

I said close the door after you” He repeated and his secretary left.
“You are a coward!” Ademide threw at him.

“I beg your pardon!”

“Why did you report me to my brother, so he could beat me up for you or what?”

“I did no such thing”

“At least remember you are a Pastor before lying openely!”

“Jesus Christ! Me! Ademide!” Pastor David said.

“I did. I’m sorry sir” Another voice said.

“Bunmi!” he turned to look her at her standing by the door. She then walked into the office.

“I did that because I felt Ademide needed someone to talk sense into her, I couldn’t put up with her attitude towards you any longer”

“Leave us!” He ordered.

“Pastor I’m….

“After you!” he said and walked her to the door. Then she heard the door bang behind her.

“Did he just close the door by himself?” she asked no one in particular.

At first she was ordered to close it now, he closed it himself. The door is only closed if it’s a male or group of people in the office but if it’s a lady the door will remain open.

Pastor David walked up to her. And stood right in front of her, eyeball to eyeball. Pastor David is only few inches taller than her.

“Now that you know that I didn’t report you, what do you have to say?”

“Nothing, just sack me and stop tormenting my life, I knew no peace ever since the day I start working here…. She continued with her rants raising her voice at him.

Then she stopped. “You don’t need to stop, you are free to raise your voice at me. No one will hear you, the room is sound proof and the door is locked”

“I have nothing else to say to you again. Just stop tormenting my life. Good bye!” she said and made to leave but Pastor David caught her hand and blocked her way. She freed her hand from his angrily. She wanted to move but he blocked her again and this time took a step closer to her. She took a step backwards, he took a step forward they continued like that till there was no more space for Ademide to step backwards. Her back had already hit the wall of the office.

“Don’t come near me” she warned pointing her finger at him.

“Oh!” he said and took another step closer and held her two arms.

“Don’t touch me. Please” She pleaded with her eyes. “Please….. He then released her arms but stood rooted in front of her.

“Please don’t come closer” She said perspiring.

“Give me one good reason not to and I’ll let you out right now” He demanded.

“Please….just let me go” She pleaded with all sincerity and with humbleness of heart.

“Ademide! Why are you scared of been close?” He asked her though he already knew the answer few weeks ago.

“Please…..”Her heart beating faster.

“That’s not the answer to my question”

“I’m….. I’m…..” she looked down.

He raised her chin up with his finger and she shivered. “Look straight into my eyes, you are a lioness, you always look me in the eye and talked back till few minutes ago. Why are you scared of been around me?” He asked again.

“I’m in love with my Pastor!”

“Which of your Pastors. We have many Pastors in this church and the last time I checked, they are married” He said feigning Ignorance.

“Fine, I’ll spell it out!” She resolved.

“Fine! That’s the Ademide I use to know!” Then she goes weak again.

“Ademide!” he called out softly looking into her eyes.

“I’m in love with you” She said and broke down into an uncontrollable tears.

“Come” he said and she went straight into his arms. He really felt for her. He couldn’t stand seeing her like that. He hugged her and she cried in his arms and they were like that.
