Good Joe stop the hype. Nobody is perfect, we are all just trying our best.

Ajax coach Erik ten Hag: "I watch Bayern play every weekend. Bayern have become my club. Since Pep, football in Germany is different, I looked at almost every training back then, and I took a lot of methodical lessons on how to transfer his philosophy to the pitch."

It is not just about trophies but changing the way the game is played and having an impact in years to come. That was what made Rinus Michels and Johan Cruyff special. Until today their wins and style of plays are still studied. While many have won the Champions League, how many are influential for years to come.

bros i disagree with you. before ndidi signed for leicester from genk, he was seriously scouted by man untd who wanted to sign him and send him on loan to gain more playing time, hamburg then in the bundesliga were also very interested in having him and for leicester to cough out over 10m to sign an unproven talent who just played a season of top flight football in belgium is testament to the lads unpolished qualities. scouts no dey recommend dirty to their respective clubs because their jobs are in stake.

Even as injury ravaged Joel obi's career during his time in Italy. He was able to get noticed by the likes of Parma, torino and chievo and at a period of time linked with a move to Palace. If onazi was as good as some of u think he would have atleast attracted middle table clubs in Italy instead of moving to trspzonspor
TheGoodJoe:

I just feel Onazi was not lucky to work with a possessive tactician to refine his game which would have made him a more mature player. With tactical discipline and passing simplicity, we would have had a midfield maestro in our hands. Either way, Ndidi is lucky to be working with Rodgers and he should make the best use of it.

Ndidi has a powerful shot all he needs to do is to improve his aiming and technique

He can't be world class if all he does is tackle
For me he needs to improve on his passing especially the short ones. If his passing is up to scratch - then he'll be super elite.

Talent wise, Onazi was there but his orientation as a youngster wasn't well nurtured. If as a young player he was in an academy or junior side where his build up plays was nurtured, his off the ball movement to create passing lanes were groomed and his discipline to own the defensive midfield zone raised, he would have excelled with his talent.

He did not play in that light and did not grow with that orientation. That was his draw back.

Keep in mind the kind of football Ndidi played when he camped with Manu Garba, Amunike and Nduka Ugbade. Ugbade talked about passing the science of football to them. Those early tactical insight is now key to what clubs look for.

The writer should be truthful to let people know that in this Tottenham game, Guardiola was robbed out of the Champions League. Not that Guardiola lacked Messi. He has set records in Germany and England without Messi.

VAR gave Tottenham two illegitimate goals. That is why Guardiola went out. Not because he did not have Messi. Either way, his journey has been laced with some of the best football plays in the history of the game. Lots of it without Messi. That is why he is a genius of the game.

Not hype. Fact.
Pep too benefitted from atrocious officiating on his part to winning the champions league with Barca!
For me he is not a Genius, he is good no doubt

Are you insinuating that he wasn't properly nurtured in lazio's youth team or Lazio lacked good and decent trainers or tacticians in their youth set up? Abi uduka, Manu and amuneke are better are better trainers than what Lazio have to offer as youth trainers?

Look at where he is playing.. That is what happens when a player is playing in a league lower than his ability.
a goal poacher is a goal poacher no matter were he plays. We praise Ighalo for scoring 6 in 6 matches in China let us also praise this guy. The Qatari league he plays produced 99% of players that won AFC effortlessly. To me Algeria is the most star studded team going to Egypt.

In better leagues, you face better and more organized defenses. I do not rate Ighalo's goals in China. He never scored that many goals in top leagues.

watch the guy's record he has always been a goal poacher. Most strikers in Europe cannot do what he is doing in Qatar.

Let us see him reproduce it at a higher level. Sinama Pongolle could not score much in the top league but became a goal poacher in Thailand.

CAF U17 matches played yesterday:

Senegal 0:0 Cameroon
Guinea 1:0 Morocco.

Cameroon and Guinea qualify.

Semis:
Nigeria vs Guinea
Cameroon vs Angola.

Senegal, pre-tournament favorites crashed. Guinea that they beat 4:0 in the final of the WAFU Zone A qualfiers beat them in Tanzania 1:0. Senegal had an excellent pre- CAF U17 tournament session. They won all their games in the Turkey invitational without conceding, even beating Nigeria 2:0.

Senegal, Perennial underachievers, underachieve again.

It has to do with the philosophy played there. If the manager at the Lazio youth team set up did not emphasise the training, it will not happen. Look at Ndidi who has played under Puel, Shakespeare but it is Rodgers emphasising Ndidi sticking to owning the Defensive midfield zone.

Guardiola is good but never a genius. A Genius should be able to diversify his strategies. Not having just one style of play.
Mind you he left Bayern worse than he met it.
Couple with the amount of money he has spent in city he still relies on the old guys.
Also City has been playing fantastic football before he came.
You are talking as if he took over a team like Cardiff loll.
Bayern won treble before he joined them while City won double so what has he done that's special.

You mean a genius should be able to win champions league whereever he goes, because he has won the league every where he went and he has developed many strategies and styles of play many clubs all around the world is using

Behind Johann Cruyff, Guardiola is the highest inventor in football

Europa League rating: Chukwueze dusts Hazard, Aubameyang

Villarreal teen sensation, Samuel Chukwueze outshone Chelsea superstar, Eden Hazard and Arsenal’s Gabon star, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang in two key performances statistics over both legs of the UEFA Europa League quarterfinals.
According to football statistics website, WhoScored, the Nigerian international was the stat leader for shots and take-ons.
The Villarreal number 30 had nine shots and completed nine dribbles, more than any other player in the Europa League quarterfinals.
In the 3-1 home loss to Valencia at Estadio de la Cerámica (Villarreal), Chukwueze attempted six shots and five dribbles in 90 minutes of action, and racked up three shots and four dribbles in the second leg three days ago, despite his introduction off the bench.
While the talented Hazard completed eight dribbles over two legs against Peter Olayinka’s Slavia Prague, Arsenal marksman Aubameyang attempted eight shots against Napoli.
In other categories, Filip Kostic was the stat leader for tackles and key passes, Allan for most passes, Michael Ngadeu-Ngadjui racked up the most interceptions, Neto most saves, Ruben most clearances and Jardel won the most aerial duels.

Because Onazi's mobility, tackling ability and stamina was super human. However, his positional discipline failed him from rising to a top quality player.

By the way, Mikel is miles away ahead of Onazi in terms of positional discipline.

His injury against France at the world cup stopped a Liverpool move. The same coach that is coaching Ndidi wanted him.

Mikel refused to remain disciplined and that was why Onobi benched him. Back then Mikel was to sit back but he flat out refused and he got benched whenever the coach had the guts to do so.

I think your arguments are not clear. I didn't say currently, I said Ndidi has not achieved what Onazi did over the course of his career.

and why did he leave lazio when he became old enough to become one of the arrow heads in the team to trapzonspor in turkey? you mean no serie A team was able to afford him nor any decent club from the epl, french ligue 1,bundesliga or even one of the 3 top teams in the turkish league. pls go online and check ndid's stat when he played for genk in the europa league before leaving for leicester

I think he was on the verge of signing of Liverpool or Tottenham before his lengthy injury after the world cup and he was never the same again. If not for that injury I can assure you that Onazi would have played for a top 6/7 team in England and he would have excelled

Keep in mind from the Europa league when he was still at Genk, I think during the group stage, Ndidi made the team of the round.

Ndidi has pulled stats that ranked him among the best in Europe and to boss a game with Ngolo Kante on the field is not mean feat.

I do not think Onazi has operated on this kind of level in his career. Either way, it takes nothing away from Onazi because the dude was a machine for the Super Eagles.

Onazi was at a higher level prior to that world cup and during that world cup, in fact he was at a higher level
