check your spam folder, it is possible that the first shortlist through portal login was invalidated

wait was there separate spaces for awards and publications? because what i saw was that publications and awards were listed as same heading under which you upload a maximum or two.

To the best of my knowledge, they can only take two. So if you have 10 awards or 10 publications, they can only record a maximum of two.

Go with all the hardcopies, they'll select the two they like best.

Like Seriously, meaning that the marking scheme template they used for last year, which envisages a maximum of four (04) awards and at least a publication is no longer effective! I even charted one of the admin officers on live chart and he insisted that i can upload up to five (05) for each, and that i should do them separately. All efforts to bring to his attention that we are limited to just two (02) by the application portal fell on deaf ears. Find below our chat:

ADMIN:do them separately you can upload 5 awards and 5 publications

ME: that is, attach all the awards in one file and upload, and also do so in publications?

ADMIN: do it one by one so attach one then attach the next and so on,

ME: the system only allows for two spaces, one for award and the other for publications though i have already submitted my application and hope to go to the interview with my awards and pubs. for physical verification. Secondly, is age a barrier in this scheme/exercise in other words, what is the age limit?

These guys (PTDF) and their selection panel are aware of the fact that some folks might have more than two awards and/or publications.

I attended last year's interview in Abuja. The guy that entered before me had already been interviewed the previous day, but he had an award & invention he didn't come along with on the day of the interview, so the panelists asked him to bring it the next day for them to see.
There's also a lady with a similar case that's already been interviewed that brought her award the next day to show the panel.
So y'all shouldn't fret, you've already been shortlisted, just go to the venue with all you got.

1. They value articles published on good peer review journals, they don't rate low impact journals

2. Distinctions in your O'Level courses gives you an edge.

3. Awards MATTER. They always ask if you have any, in fact it's so important to them that they're willing to let you come back the next day to show it to them

4. Additional qualifications is an added advantage

5. You're competing with other qualified (may be even better) candidates from your state. Last year they chose just 2 per state for PhD. So it's rather steep.

Taking note of class of degree, olevel, awards and publications with olevel grades carrying the bulk of the marks.

With the formula , a first class graduate with weak olevel stands no chance against a 2.1 graduate with reasonable A' s and B's

Hello guys, I am one of the successful candidates for uk phd last year and I will be here from time to time to answer you Qs.
For those wondering if PTDF will secure admission for you, NO they won't, you will be responsible for securing admissions yourselves for all the overseas scholars.
Secondly, I will advice for you guys to chill and get the award 1st then worry about getting admissions later, cause I assure you, admissions won't be a problem once you have sponsorship (I got mine in 4 weeks and its a phd in univ of Manchester).
Lastly, once you have the award, you are free to change university of choice so far as the university is among the ptdf approved ones (it doesn't have to be the one applied for while submitting ptdf application), for uk scholars at least, don't know of other countries.

I think they'll start sending messages starting from 2moro since 2day is holiday. This week will be a week b4 the interview, and they've stated on the previous mail that each one of us will receive our interview date a week before the interview.

Read d mail again it says "The interviews have been scheduled to take place within the 2 weeks *from* April 29, 2019". Simply means interview is within 1st and 2nd week of May.
