It seems you haven't done any research yourself. If you had, you'd have a more direct question.

And you're not helping yourself by not giving more details about your HND course.

We all used google before coming here for further enquiries. If you don't want to do that, you can pay an agent to guide you all through the process. You are likely to use one at some point.

My friend is currently in third semester out of 4 for masters, she got a PhD admission fully funded. Please does she need to apply for another visa. All suggestions are welcome. She is totally confused.

She has to apply for a new one, and also extend her health insurance.

If it's a Masters by coursework, then she was on Subclass 500 Higher Education Sector, If it was a research masters, which I do not think it is, then she will be on Subclass 500 Postgraduate research sector. They have different visa terms and conditions. In both cases, she will need to apply for a new visa. Though, extension might be possible if she is on the latter.

I appreciate your contribution, would the school offer her any certificate at third semester? Can you recommend any cheap health insurance, the one on her letter is around 19k for family of three. Generally what is your advise. Thanks

In my opinion, let her obtain her MSc degree, right before the end, she can obtain her new COE for her PhD, put her documents together for her new student visa application. She definitely needs one. She can include her family if she has enough documents. Such as landed property documents, evidence of marriage, joint bank statements, houses in their name, even a car in their joint name, etc. And a massive account balance. Something above the stipulated balance.

But let it be somewhat evident that she is finishing the MSc. She has come too far to ditch it.

But summary is, no visa extension is applicable for her case. She needs to reapply for a new visa. PhD takes long. But she will most likely get the visa. People finish their MSc and get on to PhD with a new visa. She will be on a bridging Visa while she expects her new visa.

Remember if she is not with a PhD Scholarship, the financial requirements should be adhered to.

What do you mean letter? Scholarship letter or offer letter?

NIB health insurance is a bit more affordable and perhaps ahm too.

No school will give her cert in 3rd semester, except they are kind enough to give her pgd certificate like in the UK. She can defer her PhD offer to the next semester if she needs to buy time to finish her MSc. It's not that tough to do so.

Hi all,

Please I need to clarify something. My Visit Visa to attend a conference in Australia in June was granted today.
However, I saw a clause which is:

Must not arrive after 05 May 2019.

My travel and conference are in June.

Please can anyone with experience come to my aid?

Best wishes!
It means you must be in Australia before 5th may and anything later than that means trouble.

How did she apply for her MSc?

That's how she will apply. She just needs to fill in for postgraduate research sector.

Or she employs the services of an agent. I used one, so, I have limited information.

Please elders in the house, I need your advice.
I'm applying for masters degree programme by research. I have found a supervisor who has agreed to supervise my thesis and i'm hoping to get scholarship.

Beyond the studies, I desire PR as I really want my kids (3 of them) to live and school in Australia. I am a lawyer here in Nigeria and the proposed masters is also in law. I plan to do phd after the masters. From my findings, I don't think law is on the Australian skills list. However, my husband has Hnd elect/elect and Bsc computer science. He has worked mainly in IT (system support and IT Audit/control). He is willing to go with me.

If we go together, what do we need to do to increase our chances of getting PR? I really need your advice.

Re: General Australian Student Visa Enquiries Part 3 by fobak203(m): 5:10pm On Apr 24, 2019
Thanks Akinke for tending to this. Well appreciated. Concerning the Health Insurance, she can Google cheap overseas health care Insurance. But most times whatever has been recommended by the school is always the cheapest one. Unfortunately, the OSHC is a pain in the ass, there is nothing anyone can do about it.

You need to mention which of the four campuses and know how close you want to be to school. Some of the campuses are 1 or 2 hours away from each other.

First of, My prayer is that you get the scholarship for your MRes program. It cost close to 65000bucks annually. For your PR, It will be easier for your husband to apply for PR as the principal apicant since his skill set is closer to what's available on the Skill shortage list. To increase your PR chances. He needs to focus on acing IELTS or PTE on arrival or even now, because he might be blown away by paying bills on arrival. You need to increase your points by writing IELTS too if you have not. He can nominate an occupation that u sleds competitive (with lower cut-off) as his skillset cuts across many fields. After getting PR. He can do whatever job he likes eventually. Hope this helps.
Other things like studying and doing that in a regional area are other points but that one na long thin. My tips are for the NOW. You guyz can get extra 15points from both of you doing IELTS, but with him scoring maximum points. You don't have to.

You can always apply for remark, it would cost a free though, BUT check the school you intend applying for most uni requires a band of 6-6.5

If you choose to come in for your MRes.... Plan to write Australian Bar exams immediately. Solicitor is on the skilled list. You can also go to New Zealand to write it, if that's more flexible for you when you are here. You can get the PR before you finish your MRes as a Solicitor.

Fobak 65,000 AUD annually ke?
Maybe in your school. Even that's not likely true.

65,000 AUD should cover for the entire MRes, for 2 years. Average fee is 33,000AUD annually for reasonable schools.
