The Vale's navy had been winning a battle against the Targeryens until Visenya flew by and burned a good portion of their fleet. In the world we live in African men believe what it means to be important is to think of how to provide and protect women and children (which is what Jon is all about) while women want to be the Queens. To you as long as Jon got to do the dirty job he is worthy of emulation the round table talk isn't important.
