I publish on average 1 or 2 a month. Sometimes more

I also write a few of the books myself...most of them I outsource.

Publishing Income Update (Last 30 Days)

All things considered, I'm happy with progress made so far...but not too happy. Looks like i'll make less than $10,000 this month.

Income Breakdown (assuming £1 = $1.25 and €1 = $1.11)

Ebooks - $1040
Paperback - $3520
KENP - $230
Audiobook - $4000

Total - $8790 (N3,164,400)

Q2 is usually the slowest quarter in the publishing cycle so I'm not too surprised. On a positive note, April 2018 I made a total of $2450 so this month's projected income represents a 259% year on year increase.

Will continue to add more books to my portfolio

Goal For 2019

One goal I'm determined to achieve this year is to create a strong passive and portfolio income stream. Kindle publishing has the passive income side covered. I intend to pour as much of my earnings into Nigerian Treasury Bills to create a strong portfolio income stream...that'll help me diversify my networth.

According to all known laws of aviation, there is no way that a bee should be able to fly. Its wings are too small to get its fat little body off the ground. The bee, of course, flies anyways. Because bees don't care what humans think is impossible.

This reminds me a lot about humans. Sometimes we have these limiting beliefs:

- It's not possible to make money online
- I can't get rich because I'm from a poor family
- I can't make money because I don't know anything about business

Let me tell you something, Rome wasn't built in a day. A journey of a thousand miles they say starts with a single step. Like the bee, you have to overcome these limiting beliefs inorder to move forward

- That car you're driving today...is someones brain child
- That phone you're using today...is someones brain child (someone conceived the idea and invented it)
- That bag/cloth/shoe you're wearing now is someones brain child (someone made it)

What is your own brain child? what are you bringing to the market place.

There are two kinds of people in this world - those that produce and those that consume

Producers are the entrepreneurs that create stuff while consumers are the 90% of the population that mostly buy stuff created by the entrepreneurs. As a result of this dynamic, consumers exchange their money for the goods the producers created. Any wonder why most (if not all) of the people you see on the Forbes list are entrepreneurs?

Any wonder why 90% of the wealth of the world belong to less than 10% of the people on earth? it's no coincidence.

Money moves in exchange for value

In order to transition to the producer side you need to create something of value.

If anyone can do it, you can do it. All you need to do is believe in yourself and take action TODAY

Amazon features their Hot New Releases for Kindle books and print books on all the pages that list their bestseller categories on the site

For a book to be featured in Hot New Releases, it has to be published within the last 30 days, or the release date can be upcoming. For example, if you make your book available for pre-orders on Amazon and the release date is April 5th, 2016, your book can still be featured in Hot New Releases before April 5th assuming you have enough sales to make the list for your book’s relevant bestseller categories.

Amazon only features the top 3 bestselling books by sales rank for each category in the main Hot New Releases box. You can click the “See Top 100” button on the Hot New Releases section to see other Hot New Releases or to check your books current ranking during a launch.

Amazon’s Hot New Releases rankings are a great way for Amazon to help promote new books to readers and amplify an author/publisher’s promotional efforts for a new book. The more copies you sell during the first 30 days of your book’s launch, the more heavily Amazon will help promote your book and send more new readers to check out your book.

This is one of the reasons why creating a great book launch can be crucial to your success when you publish a new book. Endeavour to proofread your work

I used to hire proofreaders to go through my books before publishing. That didn't work out so well. Unless you're going to spend thousands of dollars on a high-quality and reputable proofreader, I suggest you do it yourself.

A lot of the proofreaders I hired failed me. There was always issues and negative reviews alluding to poor sentence structures, typos etc. which made me wonder that perhaps these proofreaders simply run your manuscript through a software instead of manually doing the job.

Nobody will handle your work with care as much as you will - experience has thought me that.

Which is why I publish just 1 or 2 books a month. This way, I devote plenty of time to ensure the quality of my books are very high.

Being in a profitable niche that you're also passionate about helps because proofreading the books don't feel like too much work.

It just feels like fun.

Smart Work v Hard Work

I've realised that to be successful in publishing (and I dare say in business in general), you need to go against the crowd...what the other 99% are doing.

The reality is that 10% of the riches in the world is controlled by just 90% of the people. Likewise, in publishing the statistics are eerily similar. If that were the case then, what makes you think that you'll do better than the crowd by simply using the exact same strategies they're using? it makes no sense.

For e.g. publisher A can invest $280 to have 2 books whereas publisher B can invest the same $280 and have 6 books (I kid you not)...its 100% possible.

Furthermore, there are ways you can increase the exposure for your books by as much as 400% WITHOUT SPENDING 1 KOBO...and, the funny thing is, Amazon themselves will help you implement this strategy! yet so many people aren't aware of it.

Granted I learned this strategy from a mentor and prior to that i wasn't aware it was possible. Ignorance is truly a disease.

To be successful, you need to know what the other publishers don't know...you need to work smart (not just hardwork)

Most importantly, you need to condition your mind to think STRATEGICALLY about every decision you make.

- What's the pedigree of the niche I'm about to enter?
- Does it have the capacity to scale
- Can I get the very most out of my money (e.g. can I generate 6 books from $280 instead of just 1 book)
- Can I build a brand in this niche?
- Is it seasonal/cyclical or is it evergreen? etc.

Questions that are all addressed in the Mentorship (and to some extent in the Kindle Publishing Blueprint)

Don't just work hard...learn to also work smart.

Update - This book (published March 18) is really showing no signs of slowing down..if anything, it's going from strength to strength. Will be lying if I say I'm not impressed. It's definitely one of the best books i've published to date

My current all-time best has brought in more than $10,000 in audiobook sales alone since its launch less than 9 months ago. It's sold 1963 audio units to date (earning on average $5) and has 23 bounties (each bounty is $50)

There's no definite answer because the number of pages you get depends on the margin of your paperback e.g. for the same amount of words, a 6" x 9" margin size will have more pages than a 8.5" x 11" book.

However, for kindle books, a 10,000 words book should give you anywhere from 60-100 pages...assuming you go with 11/12 font size.

Self Development: What are your goals with regards to feeding your mind? How many books do you commit to reading in a month/year? The two books that completely changed my life were The Richest Man In Babylon and Rich Dad Poor Dad. Reading those books made me see things in a different light. It made me conscious of how I used my money and put me on the road to financial freedom. I'd advise you read them...if you haven't already.

Health: What are your goals with regards to your health? How often do you exercise? How much rest do you get in a day? What sort of food do you put in your body? It's amazing how much we take good care of our cars but disregard our body. We only have one body in this life. Take care of it and it'll take care of you.

Financial: This one is a no brainer. Like Robert Kiyosaki said in his book Rich Dad Poor Dad. You become financially free when your income from your assets (not a job), surpasses your expenses. You should aim to keep accumulating income generating assets (Real Estate, Stocks, Books, Patents etc.)

Never said the blueprint taught audiobook publishing. That comes with the mentorship.

What the Blueprint does is show you a strategy (strategy #13 in the book) that allows you to earn money with audiobooks from Nigeria i.e. how you can LEGALLY bypass the ACX Rule that says only people in the US, UK and Canada can do audiobook publishing.

The book doesn't teach the details of audiobook publishing (e.g keyword research, hiring narrators, negotiating with them, cover design etc.)

I won't lie to you. While most people in Nigeria can easily publish kindle and paperback books, not everyone can publish audiobooks.
