A Twitter user took to the platform to narrate how a Nigerian lady made a Canadian university drop its IELTS requirement for all Nigerian applicants.According to @TosinOlugbenga, the Canadian University required the IELTS  to test her competency in English. However the Nigerian lady who refused writing the exam, told them that English language has been her language of instruction since her elementary education till tertiary education and if she would not be considered for admission because of that she's okay with it.


The decision of the Nigerian lady made the Canadian university drop its IELTS requirement for all Nigerian applicants. Read the tweets below;

yup... a radio presenter still spoke about this same issue on his programme days ago... saying the exam is more like a rip off... based on the fact that English is an official language in Nigeria.

He even said some Non English speaking countries do not write this test... but Nigerians pay 200$ to write it....

Na Canada ...no be other countries

Besides, the IELTS money no dey enter their pocket

okay,,,,English is now perso Mother tongue.

No big deal. They must have read her letter of intent and were impressed. Some Canadian and US schools are flexible with the English language requirements once you meet the GPA requirements

Was their language of instruction Yoruba?
Or the candidate studied Yoruba linguistics?

Our mumu don dey do small small. What do they need 70,000 for in testing my language on a computer based test? . Or what is the meaning of Excessive Visa fees when they already know you aint getting anything. They make us pay 3 times the tuition fees their citizens pay, they even give Asians discount.

Western Countries be doing us yahoo yahoo with our own consent openly.
