Well said.
Like seriously, that expo part is so uncall for...I am a silent reader but I just have to say this because that reply was kinda rude.

I believe this thread is for everyone to learn and assist one another but been harsh on people will never help atall.

2roodi:

To the expo part, honestly that wasn’t necessary at all. Let’s be mindful of the way we reply people. I don’t see anything wrong with asking for a sample, it’s the same way people ask for SOP samples to draft theirs.

Please let’s learn to breathe a bit before answering questions. Some replies are just too harsh biko.

Tuition fees - $13,500
Room and Board - $9,000
Other - $10,000 (indicate your LE here)
Total available funds - $32,500

make sure your sponsor have sufficient funds as closing balance(after the total funds set aside for your first year studies) and a stable source of funds that can show/prove more available/unrestricted funds for the subsequent year(s).

Thanks JustMellow.
Please am really confused how you came about: Others - $10,000 (indicating my I.E will amount to 3,000 only) kindly explain plz.
Again, as in the application form does FUNDS AVAILABLE FOR MY STAY = (TUITION+ROOM AND BOARD+OTHER)?

Just peep through the thread and see people throwing big figures and become scared. Do you guys really pay such figures to school in Canadian schools?

I have a bsc in Quantity surveying and still serving with 2 million savings. Is this enough for me to move to Canada please?
Getting a sponsor account ain't really an issue. I have relatives that can provide that.

Hello,
Congrats on the admission. You need to provide proof of funds for tuition + 10,000cad in your account or your sponsor's. The proof of funds is on the CIC website; cicdotgcdotca. The tuition waiver and the TA are really low.
Paying is up to you, but if the school requires you pay some amount of money, please do.

Hello House, I just have a few question and will be glad if I can get a detailed answers.
So here's the story,
I just got admitted to Fanshawe college, London Ontario to study Professional Accounting ( Postgraduate Certificate) and i will start my visa process soon. Am still in the process of gathering all my documents together. I will be using my mum as my sponsor and she have only about 5m in her account and I have just 500k in mine....i don't have any other sponsor at all or any property whatsoever. i just registered a business under her name last month which is March because her business wasn't registered in other to get the CAC document and other requirements.
So here's the question:
1. What is my chance of getting the visa based on d money we have ( Note: My course is a 3 semester course and i have already paid for the 1st semester, the above money is excluding d fee paid already)
2. My course is stated a 1yr course which runs from September to August( 3 semester) How long Post grad work permit can I get?
3. I studied Business Administration(HND) as my undergraduate course and now furthering in Accounting......what is the job prospect for me in Canada?

one more thing; if he is doing online submission when ll he take his international passport to the embassy. justmellow or any one should reply pls

Hello peep in the house someone please help with this
kcosam:
Good day Gurus in the house, please I need your honest response to help me advice a friend properly. A friend of mine wants to go for a second master's degree in Canada, currently she has a PGD & a master's degree in the same discipline from the same school but wants to go to Canada for a second master's in a related discipline. Now the challenge is that she is planning to submit the PGD certificate as her highest qualification in the application for a TRV to avoid the VO raising unnecessary red flag by wondering why she is going for a second master's degree instead of a PhD. So please I need to advice her on this, is it OK for her to be silent on the master's degree qualification and state her PGD certificate in a bid to avoid doubt on her purpose of travel?

Your advice please. Thanks

To the bolded.
When it is requested then it will be dropped off at VFS office to pass on to the embassy.

Small advice
If I were you I would get a book and label is Canada Study permit information
and start writing all I gather from here
then make a checklist of what I have to do so that when I am ready I won't start looking for them

Countless times have I typed a response and wiped it back again. You can’t say the psychological position the person maybe.

To those who are just joining this thread, pls endeavor to do little research or stay silent for sometime before coming out with your questions.

IceTrice01:

Good day sir, please I want to submit my application at VFS on Monday, please do I need to add an SOP to my documents, it's not in the checklist of the students permit application and also how do I rightly fill this student permit questionnaire form, I'll like to get a pic of an already filled approved one if possible to use as an example, thanks.

A SOP explains the discrepancies in an application or provide additional information to the VO's understanding esp if the application "get as e be," not straight forward or in a simplified order. Though its always advisable to add an SOP because not in every/all case would the VO notify an applicant for certain clarification either through certain document request or for an extensive information gathering(this could as well be done outside the background check).

To your principal question:

1. NO, if you is not using an agent but YES if you using an agent then provide the details of contact/address/information of the/such agency. If the agent is in Canada, request for the license details/information as registered/recognized under IRCC.

2a. Breifly give reason(s) that motivated/intrigued/interested you to opt for such program that made you considered it to be a choice program.

b. Explain how you found out about the choice program i.e. Internet(Google), Peers, Education fairs/seminars,magazine, newspaper etc.

3. State the duration of which it would take to complete your studies/program as stated on the admission letter from your DLI i.e. 8months, 1yr, 2yrs etc

4. If either English or French is your first/official language, imply by stating YES but if NO, give any evidence that you underwent any/your previous studies in either English or French i.e. B.sc, PGD, Diploma, HND, OND, SSCE/WAEC/NECO etc

5. Explain intuitively and briefly why can't you undergo such program in Nigeria and how such program in Canada is different from the similar/related programs in Nigeria - hit the nail straight.

6. If you is savvy or have any idea/done any (extra) curricular activity(ies) related to your prospect program either by academics or work experience, imply by stating YES or NO.

If YES for academics, pen down your academic qualification(s).

If YES for work experience, pen down the organization name(past and present - if there is gap, or both which also proves you've been gainfully employed), held position(s), start date - end date etc

If NO, there won't be any need inputting any explanation(s).

7. Explaing to the VO what you've been engaged in since graduating/leaving (from) school before deciding to further your education. Point 6 can be use as a guide.

8. This should concern mostly your nuclear family or an extended family who bears same surname with you to whom you're closely knit. Give the details as shown on the form but if the question isn't applicable to you, skip it or input Nil.

9. As a fresh graduate who has no study gap, just input your academic dates to the most recent educational qualification attained including NYSC(if applicable) in chronological order.

BTW any information stated on this form shouldn't be contradictory to that which is stated on the SOP, they must correlate.

Good luck!

TRV UPDATE 28/04/2019

Hi Nairaland fam,
Happy Sunday!!!

Over the week, we had only one approval that was shared... Apart from that, things haven’t changed much. I still want to encourage those that have not shared their timeline to please do as this exercise would help us establish a timeline around how CIC operates. For those that have submitted their timeline but haven't shared all the information we need, please help us in sharing the outstanding information. In particular, we still need information on school resumption date and application type (new or re) from the following people; Godatwork23, Oni2019, docsaj, Cutieflaky, Klem28, Udomas, Ancy 26, Omarzx, and Iykedpetes, while we need information on the date that Valprincx upfront medical status was updated to passed. Also, if anyone has received an update (i.e. medical requests, eligibility, etc), please share because as it stands now, almost all of us are still on background check.

By the look of things, it seems as though CIC is giving priority to those with closer resumption dates. Roughly 90% of the people resuming in May have all gotten feedback on their application – even though some of them applied after some applicants resuming in Aug-19 and Sep-19 applied.

In addition, Processing time on CIC website has fallen to 9 weeks from 10 weeks in the preceding week and from about >20 weeks last year. The trend going forward is left to see but we can only hope that it continues to trend downwards. I reckon this isn't a peak period.

Finally, if you guys have any ideas on how we can present this information better or what else we can add to it or remove from it, I am always open any adjustment that'll make this better.

It shall end in praise!

Hello godsong,

I should have skipped this post but i just wanted to point out something you might know or not, maybe you already know since you insinuated I was wrong.

You should want to know that there is no standard format filling that section of Room and Board, and Other except for the Tuition fees which varies. That section only gives the VO the budgeted/estimate of the funds available to an applicant which is likely to change. This i have experienced personally from past applications that has been successful.

What matters most is for an applicant to have sufficient funds that won't be easily swallowed up by the total available funds as stated on the form.

I guess this is what you inferring:

Tuition fees: 13,500
Room and Board: 10,000
Other: 3,000 or 4,000
Total available funds: sum total of the listed figure. Which everybody has considered to be the standard format.

FYI: I owe you no explanation, and the capturing of your beginning sentence was a direct fist punch which gave me black eyes. I tried to be as polite as I could be, addressing you which was difficult.

Good day!

Having 2m won't suffice as total funds for your studies, you have to show an estimated sum as tuition fees which varies plus 10k LE.

Given to your situation, you will be needing a sponsor

On the contrary what would you like to study?

Ms Jenny, there aren't any straightforward answers to your questions. However I will point somethings out:
1. The money available isn't enough!
2. Your age depends on what you have to show for personal assests and finance.
3. You have to have solid reasons for embarking on an accounting program that can be done in Nigeria.
4. Account for all your siblings and mums dependents

P.s: my advice for you would be to complete ACA exams in Nigeria and IELTS and apply for express entry. I know 2 people that used this route. Good luck. Also accounting is a tremendous profession in canada with good pay but takes a lot to attain the qualification

Dear Justmellow,
I was not throwing shots or something. I’ll take it that you misquote my words, Of course I value peoples effort to address some certain issues as they are not obliged to do so. I was one of the gurus on this thread 2013/3014 so I understand no-one is obligated to contribute. It’s just that some people don’t have so much funds and putting extra 10k could scare them especially if what they declare does not match what's in their statement of account and also having or declaring more funds is not bad. I only said what I said because some people could get confused about LE / room and board ( which is more like LE). God bless you and hope you keep contributing. Happy Sunday.

Hello godsong,

Thanks for clarifying, I like your maturity in sounding your response. I gave the advise based on the provided Info's which the moniker stated out. Though in my recent post to the moniker, i'd already restructured the guide based on the traditional fill out.

Its a privilege meeting your acquaintance guru godsong though am not there yet.

Bess your endeavors!

Tuition fees = 13,500
Room and Board = 9,000
Others = 3,000
Funds Available = State how much is available to you. It is not the summation of your total expenses as @JustMellow wrongly stated in his answer

well, I won't go down trying to justify if am wrong or not but I will hint as this with a personal experience that transcend to more than two applications. This was in 2017.

The then application of the referring section was filled out with only the tuition fees column, the room and board likewise the others was left blanked but the total available funds was inputted after the sum total of the first year tuition fees plus just the LE, and the applications came out very successful.

The most important thing to consider when filling out that section is to be sure that the total available funds doesn't not outweigh the sponsorship funds.

Don't just say someone is wrong if you've not completely witnessed everything. You can simply make your point based on your personal experience.

FYI: there is no special way of doing this Canadian thingy but what matters is stating the needed infos.

Best of luck!
