For those who have done theirs, did the interviewers request/collect the photocopies of your documents or no need to even go with photocopies at all?

It's likely to be 4 awards. Apparently, any award from secondary school and below weren't considered. It's the ones obtained from university and above.
Will they consider state government scholarship for a Post secondary school studies as an award?

Pre- degree, IJMB to be precise and I was also the best graduating Ijmb student at that time. Would they accept the two as awards?

Mine was secondary school and it was considered.

Like I said, those that interviewed me didn't show good understanding of the grading methods. They accepted the secondary school award

I was asked for a print out of my SOP. I don't know if that was a blessing or curse cos they used it to bombard me.

Study your SOP very well. you will be judged based on what u write.

Meanwhile, I didn't upload my SOP for the second application probably why they asked for hard copies.

Yours was even serious. In Abuja, it as to the best of my observation not worth it. My reasons

1. I was the second in a batch of 5 applicants for a unit of the interview. The first guy went and I was the next. When I got there, the panelist were discussing among themselves and I could hear what they were saying. It became clear they didn't fully understood the scoring method. One was telling the other the scores for each question and requirements. It became obvious that the first candidate may have missed out as they hurriedly left his case to attend to me who may be the next victim. Lol.

2. Mr. A introduce yourself. I did. One shouted Impressive as he battled with his calculation for the previous candidate. I knew he was being sarcastic with his response because they was nothing impressive about the introduction. So it was another turn off. I doubted they were serious with the whole stuffs shaa.

3. I was asked for award and they requested I handed them over the entire file. I gave it to them. They went to the WAEC and graded it. I scored 22 lol. The guy directly before me asked the others if he is right with his calculation. Another turn off. In WAEC, they will select first 5 subjects. Whatever in it, you will be graded. I thought they show high understanding of the grading. Learning how to grade on my time is something that wasn't funny to me. Well, I just know it's an experience.

4. I was asked for my CGPA, not a first class wasn't cool to them though as displayed by the impression of one of the panelist. While at it, one asked why I applied. I gave him reasons, and figures while "Mr. Impressive" was busy shouting impressive. I was asked if I studied Geology because I waded into the exploration processes and how my course of study would be used especially in oil clean up in Niger Delta.

5. At the end of the entire stuff, I was asked to call the next person but Mr. Impressive couldn't just stop being sarcastic. He told me that I have a good case.

From my observation

1. It wasn't an interview but a physical verification of uploaded documents
2. Reference to point 1 above, those with first class and publications are the competitors others are just there to compliment them. I'm sure Mr. Impressive gave me all the 20 marks for SOP. Lol
3. For those preparing to apply next year, you need to start preparing
4. Just ensure you have an award. I have one and it's only 2 marks for awards. So I missed the 2 marks for the second award and the entire marks for publications. Mine is still being published though. lol

Weldone boss, for those that will make it, I wish you guys the best.
I doubt if the guy will be that unprofessional to the extent of mocking you. There must be something you underrated that he found interesting

Mine was Abuja:
Grading of WAEC:
A1 = 6mks
B2 = 5mks
B3 = 4mks
C4 = 3mks
C5 = 2mks
C6 = 1mk

Only 5 subjects will be taken which must include English and Mathematics.
I was really drilled as if I was going for PhD. How can they ask me what type of experiment are going to perform. Give us detail analysis. Hmm I fear, but the Grading is just based on certificates, qualification and publications. Award too is very necessary. Did last year and again this year. Having award is not a guarantee cos I have two international academic awards. It has to do with competitors in same state with you.
All the best guys!

Any PhD done yet? Guys are you saying they can give 30 marks for O' Level alone (A=6 marks, so its 6*5=30 for someone with 5 A's)? That is too much. How many will they now give to first degree that the schools would be using to adjudge your merits. Is this the same for PhDs?

Lol, if you had 5 relevant A's, would you in all honesty, say it's too much?
There's change of plans this time for assessment. If you notice, nothing was said about professional memberships.

Hey guys,

I will share my experience(Msc Category) based on my centre at UI, Ptdf complex(panel 3). I will say my experience was a mixture of fine and not too fine sha, but all is well. Just as stated it's a document verification exercise. They really screened all the documents I went with(Wassce, degree certs, awards and etc....They retained three copies of my SOP though, each of them had one but I doubt if they really looked at it). To start with, the first question was my name and state of origin. After which one of the guys asked me like three questions all together without giving me breathing space. Can you introduce yourself, the reason why you decided to do a Masters degree, why should the funds sponsor. After answering to the best of my ability. He said he wanted to hear my area of interest during my MSC. I told him the area ( i already had something in mind though) he was actually impressed. After which he asked the problem the research will solve and how it can benefit the oil industry. I still gave him the reply to the best of my ability. He nodded his head. And asked if I had any publications I said no. Then the awards category was the main issue. I went with like 5 awards of which only 3 were recorded after much arguments. Still based on the awards, I told the lead interviewer that during the initial applications I uploaded five of them of which I confirmed from flexisaf and then the flexisaf support guy told me that awards received from uni and above. I actually asked he said it's maximum of four awards and one publications for MSC. He then said the ones he rejected were not his fault, neither was it mine too, but those that issued it. After everything, The stubborn fellow who was the reason why the awards were not accepted said he liked my profile and interview but he was disappointed in the fact that we had to argue over awards entering and that the argument was a mere waste of time, cos Ptdf instructed them that they should only grade scalable awards, not just any type of awards. I sha told him I was very sorry over the argument stuffs. Then I as I was about leaving the lead interviewer confirmed my name and class of degree again. He then nodded and said okay. And I told him thanks and goodbye.

My observation is that d grading is not in any way different from last year just that O level was added dis year). I can't really say what subjects were graded sha. But before they attended to me, I heard one of them telling the lead interview to keep record of the overall score of the guy who entered before me. He had 78 though.

I will advise you prepare well and know what to say at any given point in time and don't involve in argument whether small or big. Cheers guys!!!
