somehow: I must look like ur lecturer. Let's assume your statistics is accurate, Nigeria had 114 million poor people and wasn't the poverty capital of the world. What that meant was that some country had more number of poor people. Fast forward to 2019, and Nigeria, with a population of 87m poor people, is now the poverty capital of the world. What this means is that the country that was the poverty capital did tremendously enough to reduce the number of their poor from above 114 million to below 87 million while Nigeria failed to lift enough people from poverty to wealth. Now, if this is not failure of govt, tell me what it is. 2 Likes |

Ffk giving them hot hot! But seriously, we need to check our birth control and put a law that make a family to bear only 4kids whether u v 4 wives or 1 wife! If u father more than 4 kids u pay tax of a million yearly to the government until the child is 18years and such a child can only father 3 children. We need population control. And those with 4wives, they can give birth to one child with each of the wives shikina! Thank God no Religion instructed us exactly the number of children to give birth to. So government should plan with this 1 Like |

By the time many Nigerian men reach 55 years old, they have absolutely nothing. The reason most die before the age of 60. Having too many children have made it impossible for many to save for their old age. Before old age comes most men eye don clear say their children no send them, thanks to their Mama! 2 Likes |

Awol1: Ignorance is bliss Google is your friend Read up why Nigeria became the number 1. Tip: India the former number 1 worked harder than us to reduce drastically the number of poor people in their country. Read up the rest! The number of poor people in your county didn't increase, rather reduced but not to the number of reductions for the previous number 1. You expected Buhari to turn Superman overnight to erase 114 million poor people out of Nigeria in 4 years like he planned your country for you from the start unlike India that has 10,20 and 50 years plan which every new government has been following for more than 30 years now? India was 124 million or thereabouts poor people in 2012/2014 and now 74 million poor people. The plan started 30 years ago, they were not eating their savings or looting it for the past 30 years unlike you and your previous governments! Have a nice day. Btw: I didn't guess or assume anything above, it's everywhere on the internet! |

post=77955536: Eating doesn't always mean cannibalism. It implies (I guess) extreme desperation everywhere, caused by heightened competition between a growing lot of people for limited resources. A huge crowd jostling for very limited buses/cabs after working hours most evenings, Huge crowd queued up on a typical job aptitude test(Remember Immigration Saga), Job/Employment desperation that drives vulnerable people into the waiting hands of scammers and exploitative masters. Overstretched public school Systems (Primary through University) , Overwhelmed public health care centres and an almost non-existent Mortgage system (Creating a lot of draconian landlords (there are good ones, I know) feeding on desperate housing situation) Desperation drives people to extremely unthinkable behaviours (both the desperate people themselves and those out to "assist" them), including crimes. That is what is referred to as "eating ourselves". It is not only something eating your flesh that's eating you. Surrounding situations affecting one's quality of life caused by competitive desperation can also be interpreted as eating ourselves. 2 Likes |
