Having iyaloja in computer village is rubbish. What if computer village is moved to another place and they turn the place residential will the iyaloja move with them. It's very wrong installing something that is not the status quo

At least you are Yoruba, so maybe you will understand what I want to tell you without any ethnic rationale..
Having a head is just as normal as having a managing director, they bring sanity to a place of work, Iyaloja and Babaloja brings sanity to a market place. At least you hear of touts , thieves, rogues and all sort did people that make you fall victim to things you never would have imagine, who do you held responsible for such... Let's see the positive side of issues like this rather than looking at what the negative side might look like

Last, last you guys will still have to obey the "Law of the land" - Afonja's rule and regulations else you are perfectly welcome to carry your products on your flat heads and relocate back to your hamlets.

IS LAGOS NOT NIGERIA ANYMORE? HAS REGIONALISATION TAKEN PLACE ALREADY? ANYWAY, SOUTH EASTERNERS ARE READY TO LEAVE LAGOS AS SOON AS THE FEDERAL GOVT DREDGES THE RIVER NIGER, OGUTA LAKE, CALABAR SEA PORT AND ONNE, COMPLETES THE SAM MBAKWE AIRPORT AND AKANU IBIAM AIRPORTS TO FULL OPERATIONAL AIRPORTS LIKE IT IS IN LAGOS. UNTILL THEN, LAGOS BELONGS TO ALL OF US. ANY HATER CAN RELOCATE TO MAIDUGUIRI.

Locations don't have Iyaloja nor Babaloja, it's a market title, it moves with the market and if going to a new site, they will all go as a market... So it's just them Sir

Lol.

Same way that a Mafia Extortion Racket promises to protect their victims from crime , right ?
Nigeria can never be a nation because people like you rationalize , normalize and institutionalize criminality.

Call a spade a spade.
The Iyaloja and Babaloja is nothing but Criminal EXTORTION racket, hiding under the camouflage of tradition.
In Italy and other countries, this type of extortion system is called the mafia, and the participants are usually busted for running a criminal enterprise.

What exactly is the responsibility of this babaloja and iyaloja in a market setting?

Just like a Captain. Scam that’s existing in CV no be joke. Lots of scammers posing as business people. People fall victims everyday. How about pick-pocket people? So if there’s no Captain/controller, there can never be a change!

They don't want useless traditions that serve no purpose.

Who will fund these two posts and what purpose will they serve? What problem will they resolve that is not already being taken care of?

OK, and have they asked such questions while in the meeting and have they suggested that the people serve them on volunteering basis or they just took to the street without doing the due diligence?

I dont see anything wrong or absurd in having iyaloja and babaloja at the computer village. It will bring sanity to the place and they would flush out the notorious fradusters there.

This compound fool I quoted below has no single benefit from the political installation of an Iyaloja or whatever 18th century fuckery they force market people to show subservience to but here he is frothing at the mouth about obeying 'the law of the land' or going back to where you come from.

This level of person shows how deeply backward Nigeria and how gigantic the work needed to be done to groom a people who will (1) think logically and rationally (2) ask critical questions (3) press and act their bit in the development of their country.

Do not be deceived!! His likes are in their millions perpetuating crass ignorance and intolerance of freedom and progress.

Nigeria was a country

The least that they can do is to accept the fact that nothing can change the minds of those greedy leaders seeking for babaoloja and iyalolja and to me they perfectly needs that the fact that the nonsense they do in that market is disheartening and alarming they terrorise Nigeria's I believe one of us here could have been a victim I remember in 2016 I went there to get a phone although they gave me a correct phone to be truthful but I didn't just know how that phone disappeared there before getting home I just lost almost 75k but all that activities would be brought to book and we would have a peaceful Lagos and computer village we all hoped for
