Voice Of The Church Publication

It is very strange that despite the economic viability and importance of Ota and it's environs, the Ogun state government has left this area's infrastructure largely unattended to. This is reason why many stakeholders within this community are quite bewildered or embittered with government's insistence that Living Faith church headed by Bishop David Oyedepo should not tar the road of those communities as it wasn't a Church's business to tar roads.

The Ogun state governments have over the years demanded that the Church should instead pay the Government and then leave construction for government contractors. However, knowing the corruption precedence of Nigerian states, the church has never been comfortable with that idea. Another reason is because there is so much variance in the amount the Church and the Govt budgeted for those same projects.

While the govt budgeted $40 million for the same roads, the Living Faith Church budgeted $5 million at the same time insisting $5 million would be enough to get the work done in those communities.

According to Leke Beecroft of Church Gist
"The Chinese Construction Company, contracted by the Ogun State Government led by Senator Ibikunle Amosun has played a major role in fixing the stretch of road but for unspecified reasons had left some parts of it like the Oju-Ore Junction,Roundabout untouched. This had led to hours of heavy traffic for all users of the road.

it will be recalled that a few years ago, the Ogun State Government under the leadership of Otuba Gbenga Daniel had prevented and even arrested and charged to court the church's Direct Labour Workers. The Ogun Government stopped the church from fixing the said road which leads to establishments like the Honda Training School and football pitch, Indomie Noodles Factory, Obasanjo Farms, The Bells University and Bells Secondary School (owned by Former President Obasanjo), Canaanland's Covenant University, Faith City's Crawford University and many banks among others, insisting it was not the business of the church which had earmarked about #560 million (about $5 million at the time)

The State Government had budgeted #4.4billion ($40 million) to fix the same road.

The Church has also decided to grade all inland areas around the locality of the church to help road users around the area ply their vehicles on these roads and this road grading project alone runs into tens of millions."

NB: One of the two lanes at the Oju-Ore Junction being repaired by the Church years back.

It's crazy. Many women have lost pregnancies on Ogun roads. A family of mine had miscarriaged a triplet pregnancy towards all those environs after she drove on their road.
It is therefore inconceivable that the same govt would sue church workers to court for trying to repair those same roads. Simply because it would make it impossible to award the roads as 'lootable' contracts from Government house...

Very soon Nigerians will start importing leaders from abroad.

5million dollars church budget of the road against 45million state govt budget how can this people achieve anything meaningfully for the nation?

Government cannot build roads, they cannot provide security, they cannot provide electricity, they cannot provide quality education...

If these people know they are clueless what are they going to do up there?

The corruption in Nigeria is too much

It's not just ogun state.

If you went to Guinness's factory in Ogba/Ikeja, along Oba Akran way, during raining season, you'll be surprised at the volume of flood/erosion right in from of Guinness.

I don't think Guinness doesn't have the money to fix that. I do think Lagos State government got selfish interest in it. After all, the company pays huge tax.

Nigeria leaders are in power to bring suffering to the masses. They don't want the road to be fixed because they can embezzle funds from that stretch of road throughout their tenure.
Winners Church budgeted $5 million dollars to fix the road and the state budgeted $40 million dollars. The difference of $35 million dollars will be shared between the contractor and government officials

The Nigerian govt is an expert organization in bringing suffering to the masses. It's like they enjoy it when the people suffer, so that they can come around and promise to give them these basic things in exchange for votes.

Or why do you think Ondo state government frustrated Dangote's effort to build a refinery in Araromi. A refinery that would have generated 300,000 jobs for the citizens of the states. That refinery would have unprecedented economic development and soar ondo igr even ahead of Ogun state. But all that has been lost to Lagos.

I'm from Ogun but I wish that refinery was built in Ondo. So we can have an even distribution of wealth in the south west. Ogun and Lagos are already doing averagely well, Ondo could have picked up this refinery and start pushing development upward into Ekiti... Oh well

Bro, I have come to realize God came up with the perfect punishment to punish some humans; the eternal hellfire.

It is a befitting punishment for the level of wickedness exhibited by some Nigerian politicians. They have already enough money to last them 10 life times still they won’t permit things to work to alleviate the sufferings of the masses, this level of wickedness is satanic to say the least angry

Heard about this long time ago. You can see the negative impact of corruption in Nigeria. Next time, when hold up hook you for oju ore, just know that it's your government that's punishing you and not as if that road haven't gotten any messiah.

God in his infinite power will surely punish all our leaders that have made it their main objective to suffer the Nigerian masses.
From Lagos to Cross River..
From Ebonyi to Borno..
From the biggest to the smallest..
Civil servants and politicians alike.

Even on Sunday you are exhibiting your divisive nature, SMH.

This is an issue of the church and the government, not a party thing.
You and your friends always insult the church for not doing anything to help even when their efforts in secret are helping more than the government who has such responsibility in the first place.

What's stopping people living in that area to shut down all activities in that area until government agrees to start work their immediately or allow winners fix it?
Enough of talking, it's time to take action, protest and force government hands and nt making excuses online...

If anyone is serious about the road getting fixed, i can arrange like 20 guys from my end that will join the protest....
