This is just my personal opinion . Concerning the recent development  on appliction for study visa to  Germany there are some points i want to make.

Lets do more research and and try to divert our attention from germany. Austria is not too different from Germany the only issue you pay tuition free that come as low 1500 euros and you get to stay after your studies just like Germany.  Lets learn from the indians.

If you remember when sweden and  finnland was tuition free for Nigeria you will recall that something similar happened.

If you can come up with almost 9 thousand euros then you can school in other places in Europe,  just do your research.  Croatia,  Lithuania,  Austria.  Check them out and try to go that route.

Am not saying  you shouldn't  try Germany, am just saying you should broading your horizon.

I wish you the best of lucky in your applications to Germany.  AM land on you all.

Thanks for the hint bro. However, these countries still can't stand with Germany. Our hustle towards this country really worth it at the end,. Also the Schengen visa is top notch.

Personally, I think truly there has been an upsurge in student visa applicants to DE which is why the embassy is bringing up these rules. however, e never bad reach US or Canada applicants oo. Also winter applicants are usually more than summer applicants
My advice is that do as much as possible to give yourself an edge coz its obvious that having AL is no longer enough. Fund your BA before interview, write Goethe exam (if you have time), anything that will push you further, do am.
May God reward all our efforts.
Developed countries hardly go for this stuff. This is for havenots countries. Indian applicants would be 50 fold Nigeria if its an upsurge here

Thank you.

So I went to the DHL office today at Isolo and they said I have to get the envelope two days or a day before my interview. That it expires within two days!

got mine near St Nicholas hospital on the Island....

As for the Courier Envelope.... just walk into any DHL outlet near you and tell them that the German Consulate needs you to provide a courier envelope.. they know what to do...it's not more than #1,200

LET ME REFLECT ON MY SUGGESTIONS IN MY LAST POST AGAIN

@chriswazo, i agree with you that booking appointment ahead when you dont have admission letter can be risky and the 2 to 3 months time interval is just an estimated time. BUT in my post, i also said IF you are very very sure you will an early decision prior to talking to your course coordinator. I am only saying this because of the universities that releases admission letter late, a friend of mine last winter got her admission letter late august and they told her to resume september 30th last year (just a month), she asked for an extension and they said they dont give extension. she couldnt get an appointment at the embassy also.

IF you think you will be getting an appointment one month to your school resumption, i can tell you that it will be hard and it will take the grace of God because even if you get it, I mean you will still need about 4 weeks for visa processing, you cant book an appointment today and embassy will send your appointment printout same day asking you to come tomorrow.

AND do i need to say that we have hundreds of Nigerian applying to study in Germany if not thousands sef, everybody cannot get an appointment.

I only said what i said in my last post because it was what i did then (though i booked online) and what i will tell my friends to do now, and what i would have done if the system was like this then (and also contacting my course coordinator to know when i will get a decision, i have always been lucky with course coordinators). PLEASE YOU DONT HAVE TO FOLLOW MY SUGGESTIONS CONCERNING BOOKING APPOINTMENT AHEAD, YOU ARE LIABLE FOR YOUR OWN INCONVENIENCE AND PROBLEMS IF YOU BOOK AHEAD AND YOU GET APPOINTMENT BEFORE YOUR ADMISSION LETTER COMES OUT.

But let me tell you that everybody is trying to survive in Nigeria and in other places around the world too, everybody is trying to leave Nigeria, not all student visa applicants are on nairaland not even half of them, many people wont wait to get admission letter before they book, i am sure some Nigerians sef would have book now even before applying grin grin (well booking before even applying to schools is damn 100% risky) and from what the embassy just did concerning the new appointment system, they are trying to limit the numbers of students, i mean everybody is applying to Germany now as a student even married daddies (my thought).

@Bleuocean, you said embassy posted on their website that "In order to avoid any malpractice only one appointment can be booked per person. A new booking can only be allocated after a period of one month. In case you do not show up on the day of your interview the Consulate General has the right to bar further bookings for a period of up to 6 months."... This means that you can only book one appointment for yourself and that you cannot book 2 appointments for yourself... booking ahead is not malpractice so far as i know. And i'm sure even if they send you an appointment print out months later as they said, there should be a link to still cancel it but it might be hard to get another appointment as they have to put you at the end of the reserve list again (my thought also, am not sure if there will be a link to cancel after getting your appointment date but professionally, there should be)

And lastly,

PLEASE DON'T BOOK AHEAD IF YOU CAN BEAR THE RISK.

BLESS UP.

AND do i need to say that we have hundreds of Nigerian applying to study in Germany if not thousands sef, everybody cannot get an appointment and even if they did, it might be late or closer to the enrolment deadline because now, embassy doesnt know your enrolment deadline now unlike the past years where they use your enrolment deadline to schedule your appointment if you book via email. And it is hard to give visa after enrolment deadline has passed esp for Masters except you have an enrolment extension from your university.

I only said what i said in my last post because it was what i did then (though i booked online) and what i will tell my friends to do now, and what i would have done if the system was like this then (and also contacting my course coordinator to know when i will get a decision, i have always been lucky with course coordinators). And lastly, if you are here to preach that it is selfish for people to book appointment ahead even when others without admission letter havent booked. WELL everybody got his/her own opinion but rugged Nigerians out there dont care about this.

PLEASE DONT BOOK AHEAD IF YOU CAN BEAR THE RISK.

BLESS UP.
