It was used in a derisive and dismissive manner. Jokic leads the entire playoffs in rebounds and wait for it... Assists

If some people peg Joel Embiid as a superstar then Jokic is a superstar as well

Shannon and Skip might drop the odd shock value yarns when they are stanning their faves but Shannon is a HOFer and very intelligent, he knows the X's and O's of the Sports he breaks down as well as Skip who has been covering these games before anyone on these pages were born

Nick Wright mostly quotes and regurgitate stats, a lot of time without context and he is no different than the average nerd on Twitter or Reddit. This is why he always runs into problems when they bring actual people that played the sport and know numbers aren't everything

In all fairness to Nick, he called Jokic a pretend superstar before the playoffs. His stance was he needs to see him do it in the post season, something I think a lot of people also do.
Now he has acknowledged the jokers genius after almost all their games and Cris Carter keeps laughing at him about that

Font be too quick to pass judgement.

For a team that relies almost exclusively on threes, tonight may be the off night for the rockets

I'm not supporting them to win. But if they cannot beat the GSW without KD and Cousins out hurt, then they should stop with all of their whinnying about CP3 getting hurt

2000s: Allen Iverson, Kobe, Shaq, Steve Nash. Many would go with Kobe. How was there a vacuum. Or you just don't like Kobe?

There was no vacuum but one player did not dominate the league. The 2000's was more like the 80's which was Magic & Bird's era but with more players

You dont become a superstar off of one season. This man literally just made his first all star game I'm not ready to put him in that category yet. If most dont consider AD a superstar then Jokic certainly isnt a superstar.

Without numbers all we have is opinions and narratives and all of that is subjective. Nick also tends to hold back on going at his guests i guess just to be polite sometimes but i've seen him hold his own. Hes not my favorite analyst not even close, but the man gets a bad rap for no reason other than he loves lebron. All numbers guys love lebron, daryl morey loves lebron, thinks hes the goat by a mile, very few people know numbers better than daryl morey so i dont think these numbers wright uses have no context.

You are on point almost all the analytics guys love lebron

All i want. But on the contrary i dont want curry to fail, i want him to go back to carrying his own team like he did so splendidly the year he won the unanimous mvp. He went from that to not being the best player on his own team. I want a more even league with the OG warriors, maybe a knick resurgence with kyrie and KD, the sixers doing their thing, raptors too. Denver coming into their own, watch out for the phoenix suns, yes the suns. And what about the lake show with lebron and kemba walker? Giannis and the bucks are looking scary, the celtics got AD? How swell!

Not this circus show where we all know how the story is going to end.
First time I won’t consider you a troll. If sun draft Ja Morant, the gonna be deadly. I saw it somewhere that, they prefer to draft Morant.

They need a point guard. I saw an interview of his where he came off as very conceited, man was assertively calling himself a point god. Its good to be arrogant but not conceited, i just hope it all doesnt blow up in his face. Zion looks like a generational player at least from what people are saying, it will be very bold of james jones to miss out on him if the suns get the first pick. And since when did i become a troll

Come on Bird won 3 MVP's in the 80's was possibly the best outside shooter in the league at the time. Helped create a rivalry with the Lakers that brought back the NBA into national limelight. Dude Bird had his era alongside Magic.
It's like someone calling the past ten years of European football only the Messi or Ronaldo's era, irrespective of which one of them you believe is better, both of them together made the last decade of football legendary together

Another thing that Nick got right IMO, I recall him saying that if the rockets don't beat the warriors out and win a championship in the first two years of CP3's contract, then said contract becomes the 2nd worst contract in the NBA behind John Wall's contract.

Race does not matter when it comes to ability. For me right now one of the reasons I'm hyped about the future of the NBA is because of players like Jokic, Donovan, Doncic, Tatum, Embiid to name a few. The color of their skin does not matter when it comes to basketball only their ability counts
Re: The NBA Begins by Khanben: 6:47am On May 11, 2019
The GSW win is another testament to Curry's greatness and Kerr's coaching ability, both of which I think have been grossly underrated by fans since KD got there. What a performance

He sure dissapeared painfully, but we can forgive his inabilities, for being clutch. He has never been this clutch in the crunch moments. There is no better way to change the narrative than clutchness.

He has always been this clutch. People just overglorify his bad games and downplay his great ones. When everyone spoke about him choking against Cavs, I wondered if people realised he played that series with injuries. Yet same people will tell you if Kyrie did not get hurt in game 1 of 14/15 that GSW would have lost the series. They bring up injuries only when they want to downplay the warriors but never concede that someone can be hurt and it will effect their game.
Re: The NBA Begins by Nobody: 7:13am On May 11, 2019
God i hate laker fans! Why did lebron bring us to this God forsaken franchise?

Re: The NBA Begins by benji93: 7:13am On May 11, 2019
No be only you, i was watching it on a desktop with multiple tabs open. I muted the live stream once the game began, and in the first 2 quarters , once the rockets took the lead i switched tabs. But somehow in the second half i just had a feeling Curry would show up, especially given the game was tied with 0 points from curry in the first half.

They are simply not built to win it all. Even if they had miraculously managed to sneak past GSW, they would have lost in the Conference Finals because Choking is what they do best. Also Mike D'Antoni is just a Regular Season Coach. Nothing more nothing less. You aren't winning anything with that Dude in charge.
